I’m just coming up for a breath.  I came to Little Rock, Arkansas last week for what was ostensibly MD’s high school reunion.  I figured I would have all kinds of time for all kinds of activities including blogging and even a little golf.  What I didn’t know was that I had been set up for not only a surprise birthday party with a zillion friends I hadn’t seen in years along with all children and grandchildren flown in for the occasion, but for a full schedule of activities.  I’ll report more when I get back.  We’re heading for the airport momentarily.
I’ve tried to keep up with the comments – at least those requiring a sentence or two in answer.  If you’ve submitted a comment and haven’t seen it yet, don’t worry, it’s coming.  I’ve left the ones requiring a little thought or extra effort until I have the time to devote to them.
I should be back to my desk tomorrow and back to my normal posting schedule.  Other than this one, I’ve managed to put up one other post (moments ago) on the passport fiasco that I wanted to make available as quickly as possible for the many people desperate to get help.
Thanks for hanging in there with your intermittent correspondent.

  1. Don’t you DARE give any more than a passing thought to responding to comments while you’ve got family and friends gathered around you like that! Just relax and enjoy! Those are occasions that some of us will never have, and are the real blessings in life.
If I were a Dr, I’d say “Dr’s orders,” but I’m not, so you’ll have to rely on your wife for the admonition!

I asked MD for a pass, but she said: answer the comments.  So, here I am.

  2. Happy birthday! What better way to celebrate than to be surrounded by family and friends. 🙂
