More on saturated fat

An interesting letter from Jeff Volek and Cassandra Forsythe showed up in Nutrition & Metabolism a couple of days ago. Seems these researchers took a couple of other researcher to task because they badmouthed saturated fat in an otherwise good paper they wrote.
Not only were Volek and Forsythe critical of the anti-saturated fat comments, they provided a list of reasons that saturated fats are not unhealthful, especially when consumed as a part of a low-carb diet.
Just a year ago the shoe would have been on the other foot here. One researcher would have been criticizing the other for even implying that saturated fat might not be harmful.
The times they are a changin.
