  1. Hi Mike,
Not that I watch any old garbage on TV but as I understand it, the picture suggests she has used up one of her 3 ‘lifelines’ on this difficult question (the one that removes 2 of the 4 multiple choice answers). That being the case, obviously one of the other options would have been fats … but the fourth? alcohol maybe??
At least when she gets home without any monetary reward she will know the answer … and who knows, that might change her life more than money ever would.
    Cheers,
    Malcolm
    Hi Malcolm–
    How true, how true.

  2. I bet the fourth answer was restricting calories.
I do wonder if she got it right, though she obviously had no clue if you had to use a lifeline.
    I haven’t a clue.

  3. Even funnier than the fact that it’s an obese woman trying to answer the question is the fact that she had to use her “50-50” lifeline to narrow it down to protein and carbohydrates! Where have these people been living for the past few years? Haven’t they heard of “low-CARB?” This just proves we have a LOT more educating to do, doesn’t it Dr. Mike?! Excellent as always!

    Hi Jimmy–
We’ve got A LOT more educating to do, but we’re working on it.

  4. Point taken, but I still can’t help but feel bad for the individual (human with emotions) at being used as a joke.
    Hi TP–
I didn’t really intend it as a joke.  We have a woman who is obviously obese who doesn’t have a clue about the diet program that was all the rage during her appearance on the TV show, which would imply that she doesn’t concern herself with nutritional matters.  And it shows.  It’s more of a cautionary tale (told in a picture) than a joke.
    Best–
    MRE
