Default I got a mention in Jimmy Moore's blog!

I had blogged and linked to his recent post of Gary Taubes' Feb. 6 lecture. (I also posted it elsewhere in this forum.) He listed my blog in his "28 New Low-Carb Diet & Health Blogs To Check Out While I'm On Vacation." Scroll down; I'm number 26. I'll have to drop him an email.

My blog isn't really a Low-Carb or Health blog; it's just a personal blog, but I had blogged about low-carbing again. I only recently made it available to search engines. I get at least one Taubes hit a day (and people looking for crockpot pork and sauerkraut recipes LOL!)

Anyway...I'm just tickled and thought I'd share. W00T!

Good for you.

PS- I've decided I don't like Jimmy Moore anymore. Between the Kimkins fiasco (he's removed all the old stuff, but he was a BIG TIME SHILL for it when a lot of people were saying it wasn't a healthy Way of Eating, and he would censor a lot of talk about the problems with it when she was a sponsor, and now he seems to delight in everything that takes Kimkins down a peg), his continual willingness to sell anything, regardless of how frankenfoody it is (LC chocolate bars with artificial sweeteners are treats, not staple), no matter how far from LC it actually is (Jillian Michaels, a sponsor, is clearly anti-LC), and the self-promotion have just worn away any interest I've had in Jimmy Moore. It seems he's getting more and more content light as time goes by, and Dr. Mike covers all the science he does, with less vitriol and more knowledge.

That's just me. It might be the inevitable path of a successful blog. Only so much to talk about, and once it becomes your career rather than your hobby, you have to pay the bills with it. I don't think he's getting rich off his blog, and I wouldn't begrudge him that. It's just the values (or willingness to sell them off) that makes me gag.

None of this should take away from being mentioned. In fact, I should post this in a different thread.

Tresses...how exciting!!!

I'm always happy to find a blog to read...especially if it's involves LIVING a lc lifestyle. I don't care to read all the technical stuff...I want to read about the day to day living while following a lc plan.

I know you said yours isn't particularly about lc'ing, but it's mentioned cause it's your LIFE...I like that!

Thanks for sharing...and congrats!!!

Ummm...thanks, max. I think.

I only recently learned of the whole Kimkims debacle (what a nightmare!), so I missed all of that in Jimmy's blog. In fact, I only learned of Jimmy's blog around the time that I joined here. I'll withold judgement on that issue as I did not see any of it in context. Considering how much people still dis our way of eating, I could understand why, at least for a time, he would defend what appeared to be an effective, if unusual, way of eating.

While I appreciate learning about the science that supports low-carb eating, I'd bet that the eyes of most readers glaze over fairly quickly. I know mine did reading PPLP. Maybe because I'd already been convinced by PP. I'd venture a guess that most folks are happy just to know that there is a scientific reason for why it works, or at most, read enough to satisfy their own curiosity and leave it at that.

I'll even go as far as to assume that what really matters to most people is how to make the diet work for them on a daily basis. Jimmy's blog offers that support, as well as being a clearinghouse for all sorts of information.

Amy said it well:

Losing 200lbs is quite an achievement. Jimmy's found a way to make money doing something he loves, while helping people at the same time. I don't have to agree with everything he says or does to be glad that he's out there Livin' La Vida Low-Carb.

I've been Tresses on the internet everywhere I go for nearly 7 years. It keeps me honest. Once in a great long while I register at some website that already has a Tresses (the nerve! ); and the one time recently that happened I discovered that I was the Tresses that had already registered (at FitDay); I had forgotten I registered a few years ago. But if you run across a Tresses somewhere online, there's a good chance it's me.
