Here is a chance to give feedback for the Monitor Monday Menu's

Billie you thought this was what you were going to have but what did you really have?
Breakfast: LC Yogurt, not sure what else

Lunch: eggs, sausage, cheese Not sure what else

Dinner: Pork chops on the grill, will fill in later

Breakfast: ice latte, one egg, bacon, cheese and lC bread

Lunch: chicken breast, slice grilled red onion, field greens, cukes, avocado slices

CMCole
Breakfast - Homemade flax scone; 2 slices turkey bacon; 2 eggs mixed with bit of cream.

Snack (special at work for Public Service Week): Slices of kiwi, strawberries, cantaloupe and honeydew

Lunch (what I brought - depends on hunger whether I'll eat it all): spinach, cherry tomatoes, few pieces red & orange peppers, 2 lobster claws. Also brought stewed rhubarb/strawberries (artificially sweetened, but not by much).

*Update*: I only ate the salad plus the lobster. Then I opened a small can of tuna (85 g), and had a piece of brie.

Will have to add evening meal and make adjustments to the day as appropriate.

Afternoon (after getting home) - piece of homemade bark (coconut oil, butter, mixed nuts, cocoa powder)
Scone with peanut butter

Supper: 8 oz tuna steak; tea (sorry, no veggies; I was too full)

CMCole, I need to find a nick name to call you CMCole sounds so formal and I feel more like you are a buddy, hmmmm this could be dangerous!

Alrighty nice assortment, love the claws and the salad, the brie and the tuna combos especially. You might want to make sure anytime you have a snack you include some protein in it, not sure if the scone was made with protein power or something to heighten it. It sounds pretty yummy though :D

Alice!

#1 - Atkins RTD, hot tea, sprinkle splenda
#2 - Carb Solutions RTD (not very good)
#3 - ground beef and turkey with cabbage and canned tomatoes, small amount of ground meat insides of lasagna, at most 2T; 2 small squares watermelon, 1 strawberry, 2 broccoli flowerettes, zuchinni slices, 1T ranch dressing, hot tea, sprinkle splenda
#4 - 6oz salmon, 1T mayo, iced tea
#5 - too much - grazed after I got home from work late - smoked sausage, sour cream, strawberries, 1/2 LC Baby Ruth, 1/5 Atkins PB Granola bar

Hey sweetie! Carb Solutions RTD and Atkins RTD, are those bars or shakes? Not familiar with them. I love your discipline Alice, 1/2 LC baby ruth, gosh who would have stopped at one regular baby ruth, way to go! You bring your lunches to work and that is so amazing to me how well you plan them out, nice going!

Randy it was the blueberries :D

Breakfast: Strawberry/Chocolate Shake with extra cocoa and Cinnamon
Snack: 1 cup Cottage Cheese
Lunch: 8 oz. sliced smoked ham, 1 cup blueberries
Snack: about a dozen Brazil Nuts
Dinner: 2 Octoberfest Sausages with mixed grilled Vegetables. 2 coconut Macaroons, Caff-Lib with cream and Davinci

Isn't it strange how something so good for us (blueberries) can be so bad at the same time, but are they ever delicious. It doesn't look like your usual menu, no bok choy :) but you got in some nice variety of protein, do the smoked sausages bother in anyway, salty?

Claudette

Breakfast: atkins canned shake, low carb toast w/ smear of butter
Snack: 6oz lc chocolate milk
Lunch:boar's head olive loaf, cheese, tossed green salad w/ lc Italian dressing, raw cherries
Snack: 6oz lc chocolate milk
Dinner:chicken, tossed green salad w/ lc Italian dressing, lc ice cream

Claudette, hey buddy! I have not seen fresh cherries are the bings out now? and the Board head olive loaf, is that from the deli, can you eat enough of it for your protein requirements? You always do a great job!

CMCole...still thinking about that nickname....You just post away. Protein shakes like Mitra said are convenience for many but many people really enjoy them. Randy and Gaelen both come to mind and have made some awesome protein shakes loaded with protein and fruit for a get up and get going kind of breakfast. Questions...ask away always!

The scones, to answer your question, contain:

flax seeds, ground
soy protein isolate
soy flour
nut flour
eggs
butter
sometimes cream, sour cream or other moisture - other times, just water
baking powder

I think that's all. sometimes I may throw something else in, depending on the mood. This time, I threw some cinnamon and nutmeg in the mix.

Regarding the nickname - Here's my son's selection (he doesn't use them all, anymore)

- Mumster (or monster)
- Lego Mum (usually when I drive the truck)
- Ogre Mum (although he says I can't live up to that one because his friends still feel welcome)

"It doesn't look like your usual menu, no bok choy :) but you got in some nice variety of protein, do the smoked sausages bother in anyway, salty?"

Yes. I missed on some of the veggies and I am not a big sausage fan, except mixed in chilli or other foods. My wife had bought them as a treat for my son who was visiting and they were from a specialty shop.
I find when my fruits/veggies are low the calories go up as well since I eat more of the calorie dense foods.
The sausages were salty and although I don't mind beef quite rare, I always cook any ground pork product pretty well.

Hi, Billie, thanks for reviewing our weekly menu.

The cherries (bing) are definetly here in my local fresh market, so I grabbed a lb. At 1 carb/each, they are very easy to add to the plan. Yum, they really are my favorite fruit.

Boar's Head Brand, from my local deli, are great products, most with -out preservatives and nitrates and with no fillers. The 2 oz of the olive loaf is 6 g. of Protein w/ less than 1 gram of carb, so that coupled with the cheese, will give me my 20 grams of protein.
I don't have it very often, but once in a while, it is just what I need.
Thanks, again,
Hugs,
Claudette
