Now that the month has begun, I thought maybe I'd do a new thread. Just because the holidays are approaching doesn't mean that the M&S ends, you know !

I was at the gym bright and early this morning, Shadow, because I had shopping date. I'm happy to report I have added a little HIT without repercussions so far.
Where are the rest of your peeps? Too bad the pace of the season interferes with exercise schedules when we need it the most! :tear:

We have been busy with Christmas stuff but have managed to get in two nice horse back rides in the last 3 days. The first one was 4.5 hours long and yesterday was 4 hours. Gosh we have to take advantage of the good weather this time of the year and don't want to waste it ! Makes me sad to think of Jan. and Feb. coming as there aren't many rides that time of the year unless we have an unusually mild winter.

Ah yes, my dear dear Whip Snapper I do know about those "things"---- and to prove it" Ta Dah....drum roll.... this morning I did 20 min. on the elliptical , followed by my pt stretches and finally a lower body work out with leg raises, bicycling, bridges and well that was it. I did follow those with a few more stretches before quitting.

Plain old gym session this morning with no fancy moves. I did ten minutes on the bike to lubricate my knees, which seems to work well. I'm using a ten-pound hand weight now for the two-handed arm/shoulder stretch you gave me. I spent two hours at an intense music session last night so if it's going to hurt, I'll know soon! :p

Whatcha making :)? I used to like making bread .My grandma's pfeffer kuchen. It's a spice cookie that has to be mixed one day and chilled overnight to set up. Then you cut the slab into quarters, knead in more flour, roll out, cut and bake. I made four batches, so that was sixteen slabs that I beat into submission! That's more work than I ever put into making food. My abs were actually sore in new places last night, so I'm counting it as exercise.;)

It's doing pretty well, thank you - after a minor episode a month or so ago when I had a bad week after coughing too strongly!
We're heading up to my parents' for Christmas tomorrow, so I'm afraid I'm not committing to serious workouts for the next couple of weeks. Probably plenty of escaping down the fields with my camera to get some peace and quiet, though ;).

Great job as always, Lynn :D! Yes - please do allow for that shoulder. As we get older, those things don't miraculously get better or heal themselves ;)!

Merry Christmas, everyone! I went to the gym this morning, like a good grasshopper. ;) Did some HIIT on the bike. I won't get back there until after Christmas, but I have been doing some floor exercises, partly to see if it would help my lower back but also to make sure I can still get up off the floor. I found my knees are a little more tolerable of the "launching" position and the leg presses have made rising a breeze. :) I plan on keeping that in my home routine.

Checking in. Not only have I been lazy but recentlyI have been falling more. Interestingly enough when I fall because my right kneecap slips off center, I fall gently. All of a sudden I am on the ground. When I trip on something, which I did 3 weeks ago, I fall hard! This time I fell on my left side giving myself a bad sprain on my hand, wrist, arm and shoulder. Still can't hook my bra. It's been a very very slow healing.
Believe me, I am watching every step I take and taking small steps and walking only in areas where I know I can find something to help me get back up again. Very limiting. I have not been able to do upper body exercises with 3 pound weights and had trouble holding on to things in order to do leg exercises.
Now the pain is less, I can start again. Getting older is not for the faint hearted. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

Sprains take a long time to heal - and all you can do is give them the time they need.
Now the pain is less, I can start again.

Happy New Year all
have gotten much exercise for the last three days due to a surprise visit by DW's son, DIL and monster granddaughters (aged 2 and 4).
I am now hiding in the office weeping cause they decided to stay another night :(:peeved:.
The house is in shambles, the two monster trash cans in the garage are overflowing and there is no end in sight to the junk being produced by the dynamic duo.
On a brighter note, at this time tomorrow all will be quiet, peace will have returned and I will be able to resume my slothful, boring routine :)
Dear One, of course there will be some planned movin' n shakin' going on. :D
