July Challenge!

July is a month we tend to spend more time outside, working or playing. It seems to be a time of year when we have more difficulty keeping to our low-carb way of eating due to being away from home and out of our usual routine.

Let's reinforce our plan by being aware when our daily activities will be challenged and having a Plan B. My emergency plan is no more complicated than having a couple of ounces of almonds in my purse. That works for everyday, but how about when you're on the road, or visiting in someone's home? What will you do?

Good morning Carol.
I have a Plan B for tonight...we're going to a Mexican restaurant. I'm sooooooo glad I NEAN on chips. It's amazing how many of those you can down in a setting?!!

I'm having fajita's. No wrap, no rice.
I have to admit...I'm probaby having a marquarita...unless they have a good chilled white wine (which would be much better for me).
But I have to get back on the LC bandwagon 100% of the time...tomorrow I sit down and plan meals counting carbs. I've been lax, and it's showin my waistline. sigh......

It's hard to skip chips, but it was more than I could do to ignore the popcorn. Also hard to count.

But I have to get back on the LC bandwagon 100% of the time...tomorrow I sit down and plan meals counting carbs. I've been lax, and it's showin my waistline. sigh......A necessary move, it seems. Carb creep is real.

My daily routine:
B - Pre-made shake (30g protein) + 1-2T Coconut oil
L - Sausage / eggs
D - Varies

Recently added the spoonful of coconut oil to help me make it to lunch (I was getting hungry mid-morning).

My Plan B was implemented last night. My dad chose Mexican for his birthday (not a fan in general plus the high carbs) so I just ate before going. Even NEAN'd it on the chips, only had water while I was there.

Vitamins
What does everyone view as must haves? I read Dr. Mike's recent post about (Tips 2) starting low-carb and it seemed a lot of the focus was on helping with the transition to low-carb and not necessarily what was needed going forward. Budget is always tight so I'm hoping to focus on the more important.

Right now I'm taking a daily multi and cod liver oil pills. I recently bought some magnesium as my calf muscles were randomly cramping and someone had suggested it before.

I just eat it with a fork and make a salad out of the lettuce and guac.

Vitamins What does everyone view as must haves? My doctor has me on magnesium citrate and vitamin D3. I also take krill oil and CoQ10, which he agrees with. I added chromium picolinate for blood glucose.

Hi, y'all,

What a great challenge, Carol,
I love it! Plan B. I carry an Atkins shake with me at all times.

Ammy, wow, is carb creep ever real! I know what you mean about tortilla chips, if I don't NEAN, I can eat the whole bowl. I always eat my salsa with a spoon and spoon it over my fajitas or taco salad. I love salsa.

Goose, when my family has Mexican Food, my go to meal is either fajitas sans rice, beans, tortillas but with salsa eaten like a salad ( like Carol has stated) or chic or beef taco salad w/ salsa, quac, no chips.

Today, I sort of sneaked on the scale(official weigh day is Monday).
I was delighted as I am 0.8lb from away from the 5lbs I had lost before I re-injured my back on Father's Day. :D

 I also am excited as I put on a pair of burmuta shorts I used to love in a size 12 and they fit. I wore them all day! What a difference 5 lbs can make in the way clothes fit.

Have a great day, all.

Pro: 74 (more before bed)
Carbs: 27.

I'm back from my trip... tried to skim over the posts to see what I have missed, but was just too much to absorb.

Happy belated b-day to Ammy. Sounds like you had some quality time w/ gf at least :)

As for this month's challenge....

I too like to keep almonds (1/4 cup in a baggie) in my purse... amazing how quickly they can go stale though.

Learning to deal when things aren't going according to plan is a big weakness for me (and not just in the food department). I like structure in my life and when it goes wrong I fall apart (the ACOA in me I suppose).

Carol, the Atkins shakes do not have to be refrigerated untill they are opened and if I open one, I usually drink it all. I have never really kept them in the car, just pop them in my large straw summer bag. They have a use by date on them.

Becca, HI, welcome back.

Well, will check in later with the totals of the day.

Learning to deal when things aren't going according to plan is a big weakness for me (and not just in the food department). Having a backup plan in place works for a lot of situations! :)

Warm and muggy today. I'm thinking greek yogurt with frozen blueberries for supper. That's as satisfying as ice cream for me anymore, especially if I add a little sweetener!

Well the only thing not "on plan" for today was I only had 2 shakes instead of 3. Course I didn't have the first one til about 10:30 or so. Breakfast for dinner, all good there.

Totals for today:

Protein: 187.5
Carbs: 24.4
Water: 96 (includes what was used in my shakes)
Supplements: I need to get back on these, still recovering from vaca ;)

Going to a cookout tomorrow for dinner (shakes the rest of the day). As we are supplying hamburger patties I know there will at least be one thing I can eat ;)

Hi All, my sisterswedding went fabulously. I couldn't breathe a little in my size 14 but breath is over rated apparently. Indulging on all the carbs I want for the past few days as made my reflux come back with a vengeance (even my dh is monitoring my carbs because of the reflux) so the vacation from PP is officially over.

I tend to forget the reflux until I eat unwisely and then it reminds me. Miserable stuff! I'm glad you're back to your routine.

Happy Independence Day, Everyone!

I have a cookout to go to and I'm sure there will be veggies to go with the meat, so that's what I'll have.

Well, this couldn't be more timely. Hard weekend for me with the plan. I didn't have a plan B on Friday (Canada Day) and ended up eating lunch poorly while out at Canada Day celebrations.

Then yesterday I got quite sick from one of my medications -- a chemo drug I take in a lower dose once weekly -- and I ate a lot of carbs, including crackers and then some lasagna friends brought over when they heard I wasn't well. So... carb city all weekend and a pound or so up on the scale.

Trying to do better today.

Hi, y'all,

Happy 4th all!

Today, we are just hanging around the house. Our friends we usually get together with are out of town, so it is just grandbaby, DIL, son. My FIL is visiting the relatives in Virginia.

Still hanging in at the same weight and wearing the size 12 burmuta shorts I found I could wear yesterday.

I hope by my Birthday in Oct that I will be in a size 10 and will be considerably lighter. I was doing well in 2009 in size 10's that fit loosely, then last year it went in the toilet.
I still want to be off the CPAP machine.

Carol, have fun at the cookout.
Trina, I bet you looked fabulous in your size 14 dress at your sister's wedding. I know what you mean about reflux and carbs.
Tracy, Happy Belated Canada Day. Sorry you were so ill from the chemo medication. That particular medication can make you really ill.
Becca, hope you have fun at the cookout. Isn't it great to know what you can eat at those things.

Will check in later with the totals.

sooo....I want to lose 20lbs.
TWENTY!
I can't believe I have gained 20lbs...:jawDrop:
That's more than carb creep...that's carb landslide!!

:(

So, I spent my weekend planning meals again, entering everything into fitday. I planned to start yesterday, but added one bowl of cereal and a yogurt, which threw off my carbs, but my day was still soooooo much better than it has been.
I haven't been "overeating", just eating more carbs than protein. Testing rice more often than I ever have. Rice doesn't make me want to eat more, but it does really affect my body. I am a compulsive eater, so it's odd to me to have a food that I don't overeat still cause me to gain weight.
Anyway, meals are planned and I'm exercising. Now I need to work on patience!

I put ribs in the crockpot again. I poured on a dry rub and just put them in and forgot them. WHYYYYY do I not do this more often????
So easy, so good?!

B: 2deviled eggs with a bacon crumbles, bratwurst, 8 cherries
L: 9oz (with the bone) pork ribs, broccoli salad
sn: 1.5oz mixed nuts
S: ground beef, lettuce with bacon crumbles, cheese, ranch

I am struggling calculating the amount of the ribs...I can't find what I'm looking for in fitday? I weight it with the bone in and got 9oz...and there are three bones. I weighed the bones and they were about 1oz each. So I figure I'm having 6oz of ribs? I assume I'll take off some fat as I didn't trim them first (tasted better to cook with fat on), so I know I'm getting at leat 5oz of ribs....at least.
Carbs: 25...but I might add a yogurt later which is 15carbs, so that would put me at 40.

Hi All, my sisterswedding went fabulously. I couldn't breathe a little in my size 14 but breath is over rated apparently.LOL, that's true sometimes. ;) I'm sure you looked beautiful!

Scale's up again. My weekend troubles are plaguing me. Yesterday was clean eating, and today will be too. My birthday is this weekend though, and I have ALWAYS taken my birthday "off", so I'm not too thrilled with the pre-birthday scale jump. I can't help it with the meds (and thank you for encouraging me not to feel badly about that, Carol), but grrrr. Lately I feel like I try so hard at so many things (diet, parenting, etc., and just am not getting the job done the way I want). Plus my stupid hair is thinning from my medication and stuff, which is not a big deal in one way but it just adds to my frustration over all of this craziness. I sure hope and pray my kids do not get my disease. :(

Anyway. Yogurt/protein powder for breakfast, leftover steak for lunch, ground beef meal for supper, breakfast bar snack. That's the plan. Walk to the playground with the kids for a bit of fresh air and exercise.

Hi Everyone, check-in for yesterday. Carbs and water were at acceptable levels but sunflower seeds made calories go through the roof and I didn't take any supplements :-(

Today is going well, I accidentally skipped breakfast (boiled 3 eggs but I was running late and forgot to eat them), lunch from Whole Foods bar, probably chicken & green beans. Dinner will probably be a mcdonalds angus with no bun because my dd5 has taekwondo and we're in the process of moving to a new house so cooking dinner isn't on my to do list.

1. I'm sure you were beautiful, Trina. :)
Oh, bummer!

2. I tend to forget the reflux until I eat unwisely and then it reminds me. Miserable stuff! I'm glad you're back to your routine.

1. Thanks! I was looking at pics of myself while we were getting ready and all I have to say is ugh. The only pic while in my dress is of me holding the baby so I have to wait until I can see the pics from the photographer and "hope" the dress was more flattering.

2. Just that quick the reflux seems to be gone :-) it took less than 24 hours.

1. the good part is that it's only 20 and not 50 which is what I need to lose (actually over 50 but I'll be happy if I lose 50)
2. Do you think it affects your body strictly based on weight gain? Rice is one of the items I could easily do without but I'd really like to "test" sweet potatoes but I'm scared so I'd like to know what to watch out for.
3. UMMMM, yummy. I also love the crockpot but don't do it as often as I want to. I guess I'm just not into planning all that much.

Boy Howdy - you aren't kidding! I can remember having over 100lbs to lose. Y.U.C.K But if I don't start now it WILL be 50 before I know it. I read a guys weight loss blog, and he has gained 70lbs in the last 6months. That could be me in no time flat!

2. Do you think it affects your body strictly based on weight gain? Rice is one of the items I could easily do without but I'd really like to "test" sweet potatoes but I'm scared so I'd like to know what to watch out for.
We've never really been a "rice" family so I didn't eat much growing up. We were mashed potato eaters...LOTS of mashed tater's...and often. My mother didn't know how to cook sweet potatoes  so we didn't eat them. But as an adult I LOVE sweet potato casserole. Not the crazy sweet ones, but I do love the taste of mashed sweet potatoe. What a taste treat!! Darn the carb-content!

3. UMMMM, yummy. I also love the crockpot but don't do it as often as I want to. I guess I'm just not into planning all that much.

I like to buy the big cuts and put them in the freezer. Then on Friday I plan what I want for the next week and get it out of the freezer. Then on Sunday it's thawed and I put it in the crock. OR I do my shopping on Sunday and then the food is thawed, so I put it directly in the crock.
I suppose that is planning, but it's one-time planning for the entire week, cause I don't want to have to think about food for the rest of the week. Just reheat my container and eat.

I am struggling calculating the amount of the ribs...I can't find what I'm looking for in fitday?Y'know, I think I'd just scrape the meat of off a bone or two and find out how much it came to and go with that calculation. I've been buying the country ribs that are almost boneless.

Lately I feel like I try so hard at so many things (diet, parenting, etc., and just am not getting the job done the way I want). I'm sure it's all due to the potty training! ;) Seriously, it's hard to follow a plan when you have factors that are out of your control. Sometimes all you can do is put one foot in front of the other and know that you're doing your best. Have a happy birthday, in case I miss it!

Hi, All! :)

It has been a couple months since I have read or posted. I have been too busy to keep up, although I'll admit I've missed you guys.

I just wanted to announce though that I've finally hit a 20 pound weight loss! :D It took me about 3 1/2 months but I'm finally here. :)

What is even more amazing to me is that I went to four picnics in two days and still lost about 2.5 pounds. Eating low carb rocks!

My DH got a new job and we are moving at the end of the month, so I still don't have time to catch up on posts. :o Hopefully, after we get moved and settled I'll be able to rejoin the fun.

Keep up the good work everybody. Be patient. The WOE does work.

hugs and God bless,

Usually I got the fajita route as well but I'm also cheap. Seems the places my family likes to go are kind of expensive to get a reasonable amount of meat.

Glad the holiday is over and I'm getting back to a normal schedule. I took a few extra days making it an extra long weekend.

Ah, stressful situations may require a backup plan to our backup plan! ;) Moving can be rough in more areas than diet. When we moved, there was homicide in the air. I like how you look at the challenges as what they are. How about an "emergency" friend who will provide unconditional support?

 (I'm at work so I really had to stifle the laugh at the homicide comment)

THIS BOARD IS MY SUPPORT, is that bad? My sister is supportive and unconditionally loving however she's a bit hedonistic in some areas of life. She feels like she deserves the best in life especially if it's a "feel-good" thing and food is a great example of a "feel-good" thing. Example: if she goes to the movies she HAS to get some junk because that adds to the movie experience and she deserves a great movie experience. I get her philosophy but I don't like being tempted like that so I'll just get over the stress and get on with it.

To Tracy my DD2 is also trying to potty train but she is only at the part where she takes off her diaper and goes into the bathroom AFTER the diaper is already wet:) (Yes I keep her in diapers rather than pull-ups)Well, at least she goes to the bathroom and is recognizing that's where the pee/poop thing is supposed to happen! My DS does everything on the potty just great. IF you put him on at the right time. Otherwise, he has accidents (in underwear that feels wet and gross, mind you) and keeps on playing. Groan. I'm at my wit's end. I thought since he did his "business" just fine, he'd be easy to train at this point, but no. He has no concept of telling us when he has to go, and though he does seem to hold it when he can, you have to take him every hour at most, like clockwork, or accidents WILL happen. And he WON'T care one iota.

I'm actually having a terrible day. Same dear child of mine threw a huge tantrum out in our yard for all the neighbours to witness after I turned off the sprinkler. Terrible 2's indeed. And I feel sick from my meds again. I swear, I have never wanted to just eat my way through a pint of Haagen Dazs so badly in my entire life. :( Instead I'm eating copious amounts of peanut butter. An improvement, yes. A great idea? Probably not.

(ETA: By 'copious' I mean a few spoonfuls, not half a jar, just in case you're worried!!)

Carol, I am so glad you started this thread about Plan B. Glad you feel the same way I do about this site. Support, support, support.
Ammy, hang in there. You will have the 20lbs off as quick as can be done. You are a wonderful planner. I love reading your latest recipes.
Tracy, way to go eating Peanut butter instead of the Hagen Daz! Sorry to hear your meds are making you ill.
Mommabear, 20lbs gone! Whoo, hoo, way to go.
Trina, I know just what you mean about gastric reflux and carbs. I can tell immediately when I have eaten too many of the wrong kind.
Becca, hi, there.

Confession time.
Yesterday was a very stressful day, (sometimes the day after hollidays is the pits) and even though I had a Plan B at work, last night fatique got the best of me. Off plan. :( Big time. No idea of the total carbs.

I was afraid to get on the scale today, so I skipped it.

So, today back on track and carry a Plan B with me.
Back to posting the menu daily.

Menu:
B: Isopure whey shake in hood regular milk w/ added fiber, starbucks coffee w/ splash of creamer.
S: Kroger carbmaster yogurt
L: 1/2 sandwich, one slice of LC bread w/ lean deli ham/cheese/lettuce, sf jello.
S: three dill pickle spears, 1oz boar's head beef bologna (sometimes I really crave this deli meat, this brand is the best).
Planned:
D: baked ham, non-starchy veggie, green salad w/ splash of Viva Italian dressing, sf popsickle.

Totals posted later.

Sounds like there's been some rough patches... I know it helps me to just keep coming back here and not crawl away and hide.

I had a good day... more of a 2/1.5 instead of a 3/1 as my morning shake only lasted til about 11:30 instead of almost 2:00 like yesterday. Made the exact same way, there just doesn't seem to be a pattern of how long it will hold me :( So had my Lindt and almonds early then when I got to a stopping point (probably 1:00 or later didn't really check) I had my tuna and cheese. Got home late, got dinner started for the family, then when they sat down at 6:00 had another shake.

So today's numbers:

Protein: 188.1
Carbs: 29
Water: 108
Supplements: nope

I did buy some sugar free powerade at the store tonight full of electrolytes. Going to keep one in my lunchbox at work and if I start getting a headache will drink that and see if it helps rather than drugs.

Very tired so off to bed....

Hey all...made it through yesterday...two days in a row.
A coworker brought me one of those Starbucks petite's so I had to alter my food plan to include thost SIXTEEN carbs. I did it though! Weeeee

today my breakfast and lunch will be the same.
Tonight we are going to a party on a boat, the same lake cruise that the Vikings players had a "party" with "paid escorts" last summer. Should be fun. They are serving fajita's and fruit, along with other things I won't eat. Should be a good time. But I'm having a hard time calculating fajita's without the tortilla, but I've been doing this lc thing long enough that I am able to calculate on the spot. I'm not concerned about the fajita's mixin's...but the fruit can be iffy. No worries, I'm feeling good!

Hey Becca...how is the sf powerade? I've looked at it, but I don't like kool-aid and I was concerned that is what it would taste like?

Claudette...I don't think it's a bad idea to skip the scale after "incidents" as long as you don't have that happen every day (the incidents I mean). But you're back on track today, so all is well.

Carol...you are such a blessing to this board and this group, er I mean US!! Thank you!

I haven't tried the Powerade yet. I have some packed for today, but no idea if I will use it. Primarily have it as a source of electrolytes if I get a headache to see if that will help instead of having to rely on prescription strength drugs (as OTCs never help and aren't good for the liver anyway). It can get very very hot in my office (85+ even with the AC trying it's hardest) so I am sure it will get used at some point ;) The store only had the "mixed berry" flavor (blue color) so I'm not sure how I will like it either (being a grape/cherry flavor kind of person)

Will second what you said about Carol!

Now to get ready for work... ugh!

So, today back on track and carry a Plan B with me. Good job getting right back to it, Claudette! In the "old days" a lot of us would've had a bad day and been off the wagon for a long time, but just hopping right back on is huge!

THIS BOARD IS MY SUPPORT, is that bad?Like Carol, no! I don't think so, anyway. I really don't talk about my weight and my WOE with many people. Most people don't understand the struggles, and my family has their own issues with it so we only talk occasionally (like when my mom is trying to lose, we sometimes chat a bit for commiseration and encouragement). If I didn't have this board, I'd have a harder time. I did "okay" without being here for a few years having my kids and stuff, but I do much better with the board and the awesome support than without.

A coworker brought me one of those Starbucks petite's so I had to alter my food plan to include thost SIXTEEN carbs. I did it though! WeeeeeI have been curious to try one of those but haven't. But 16 carbs, I could hack that in one of my meal plans sometime too. That's not "too" bad for something like that.

Carol...you are such a blessing to this board and this group, er I mean US!! Thank you!Amen to that!

Scale's still up for me. I hope I feel better today than yesterday. Got some sausage and veggies for supper, probably eggs for lunch, already ate breaky.

Nobody's around. I'm lonely! ;) Just kidding. Gotta run and get some stuff started for supper as we're having unexpected company: my very best friend, home from Taiwan! I think it'll be meatballs or something... Gotta figure that out quick.

Just had a snack of the "one minute chocolate cake" someone posted here a while back -- soooo good and it took care of my nibblies!

My day didn't go as planned.... DS showed up, knew he was coming some day this week just didn't know when, he took us out to dinner (his choice and he paid).. and his choice was not LC friendly by any stretch of the imagination (and of course my original plan was a shake ;) ). So had a cheeseburger and fries.. did get water instead of tea though. Back on track tomorrow!

How nice, Tracy! I'm sure you can think on your feet too. :D

Thank you, friends, for the kind words. The big secret is that I need you MORE than you need me! We're in this together and I couldn't do it without you. :)

I was on the road today, so I'm catching up. We drove home through the middle of a police manhunt, which was a little scary. Luckily our vehicle was nothing like the murderer's. :paranoid:

I am SO ready for dinner. I had burgers for brunch and I can't believe I've made it this long. Pork chops and roast beef in the fridge, though, so I'm all set.

Well bad news from yesterday as well...
I'm having a hard time getting back on track but I know exactly why (at least I think I do).

Question: when buying fresh eggs what are some secrets to get them to peel easily? I know if the eggs sit in the fridge a few days they're very quick to peel but I bought some eggs Wednesday evening and really want to boil them but the headache of slow peeling isn't worth it to me.

Forgot to give my critique on the Powerade yesterday. I ended up drinking it, not because of a headache but because I actually ran out of water at work (and I take a 64oz jug with me).

For me it was WAY too sweet. I did manage to fnish it but it kept reminding me of drinking freshly mixed jello. I guess I am too much of a water drinker. I like water (not with added anything) have as far back as I can remember. Even when I wasn't caring about "diet" I'd always kept a thing of water in the fridge and made it a goal to drink it all per day (used to be a glass orange juice jar, don't think you can even get those anymore)... the progressed to insisting on a fridge with a water dispenser, now back to jugs in the fridge. I wasn't one of those people that had to switch from regular soda to diet soda, I've never really been a soda drinker.

I don't really like "sweet" things in general... when it comes to candy (or past tense I guess) I only like chocolate, don't like fruit flavored, mint things, etc... (if that makes any sense). Could be why I don't eat actual fruit too, find it too sweet or too sour.

Sorry if I've rambled ;) Guess just trying to put it in perspective as my defninition of too sweet may be perfectly fine for someone else.

Just a note, the LEMON petite at Starbucks is 16carbs. Not all of the petities. all the others are 21-24 carbs.

I am traveling today.
I forgot fruit today so am just eating up leftovers for breakfast, and I just calculated my BREAKFAST is 1000 calories . wow!!

We will be having company and be pretty busy, and I'm "off plan" tomorrow for my birthday too, so won't have much good to say anyway. The scale is climbing all week while I'm trying to eat well, and I feel sick a lot, so I just don't know what's going on, but I can't sweat it too much with my meds and everything. I'm just going to have to find a way to be content to do my best (birthday aside). :(

Question: when buying fresh eggs what are some secrets to get them to peel easily? My method is to poke a teeny hole in the fat end with a pin or needle before cooking. I think that lets a little moisture in between the egg and the shell. Then I tap it all over with the back of a spoon to crack the shell and slide the inverted spoon under the shell to peel it off. Works well even after some time in the fridge.

I like water (not with added anything) have as far back as I can remember. Even when I wasn't caring about "diet" I'd always kept a thing of water in the fridge and made it a goal to drink it all per day...What a good habit to have, Becca! The nice thing about making our own is that we can flavor it to taste by adding more water.

Just a note, the LEMON petite at Starbucks is 16carbs. Not all of the petities. all the others are 21-24 carbs.Ooh! Good to know! Do they have the nutrition info on their website? I love bratwurst, and it pumps up the protein and calories for me. Fitday serves as a gentle reminder.

Hi, y'all,

Yesterday's totals:
pro: 98
carb: 40

Kids ordered chinese, so, I ate chic w/ mixed veggies and egg drop soup and only a Tbsp of rice.

Totals for the day aren't "too" bad. 2100 calories and 47 carbs. Still pretty good considering the streak I was on. If I get hungry tonight I'll zap bacon in the microwave. The only bad thing is that my supplements are still at the old house and I've been at the "new" house all day (it's techinally 20 years old but new to us).

I guess today is BTB's wedding day. Looking forward to what she has to say about everything.

Nothing groundbreaking but it sure was nice seeing +3.9 (from my low) on the scale this morning after running +10 for the last month. I think it's the lowest I've been since I hit the low months and months ago.

Unrelated but we've been playing around with making our own condiments.

Ketchup
Had to add guar gum to the since leaving out splenda/sugar made it too runny. Too much guar gum made it too thick. Oh and it's nearly impossible to measure 1/32 of a teaspoon (allspice) so it ended up a bit strong.

Mayo
Important lesson: if you use olive oil, make sure it's "light" (indicating lighter flavor) or it'll overwhelm your taste buds. Ready for Round 2 now that we have some light taste olive oil. Ultimate goal is to play around with spices to make fancy mayo (basil, garlic, etc...)

BBQ
Wasn't sure about all the ingredients (chili powder, onions) but this came out really well. Ended up a little thick (no guar gum to blame here).

Once we figure out all the tweaks I'll post the recipes in the right part of the forum.

Quiet around here this weekend...

My original dinner plans didn't work out (had DH pick up the chicken, forgot about the cheese it needed...) so I used some pre-cooked chicken and made a quesadilla on a LC tortilla... and 2 shakes today instead of 3, both with coconut oil and cream.

Totals:

Protein: 200.8
Carbs: 32.3
Water: 96+

THere was a 20oz bottle of water split between last night and this morning (next to my bed) that's not included in either total.

I am exhausted, as usual. Not looking forward to work tomorrow. The 3/1 plan won't work too well several days this week either... tomorrow and Wednesday for starters. Will do my best to stick to it the other days though.

Had a nice visit/delayed birthday celebration with the family.
Mom made her (brown sugar filled) beans and dad made potato (mostly potato, little egg) salad.

sigh....

I was very very able to avoid the Reeses peanut butter ice cream cake they had...even though I said I did not want a cake, and I don't eat chocolate or ice cream...so really it was for my SIL who is an incredible carb addict that is constantly fighting her diabetes.

But, what'd'ya do?? Nothing. I worry about me, not my family.

So I had a smaller bowl of beans and a scoop of potato salad and therefore was off plan on Saturday.
Was mostly on plan on Sunday (avoided the monkey bread and fresh baked cinnamon bread for breakfast).
But am absolutely on plan today.

I was so horrified at this new muffin top I'm sporting! I looked at my family, and I have the smallest one, but it's still horrifying to see.
Soooo, if I don't like it, then I have to make changes to get it off me.
And since LC really affects the abdomin, I best get busy!

OK, I feel really silly because I ate pizza yesterday and had heartburn SO BAD that my dh had to go to 7 eleven at 2am to get me some pepto (I had some at the OLD HOUSE!). I could'nt sleep or lay down, it was SO miserable and it could've all been prevented. How embarassing:o

Today will be on plan, I don't have a choice because dh isn't going to tolerate me having these problems because I cannot control my eating. He's great but I don't want him lecturing or watching my food etc so I have to do it myself.

1. Isn't it difficult to move and some stuff in one house, other in the other house?

1. Yes, but today we'll actually have the dinette instead of just standing & eating or sitting on the futon trying to prevent spills.:p

Amy I have the same thing going on with my family. When we went out to eat last weekend I made everyone go to Golden Corral because I knew I could get some good lc food there (it was really yummy too) but if they cook or choose the restaurant there's likely to be trouble for me. 2. What's carb creep?

I think the best way to describe it is when you're overdoing on small things, or you're having a moderate carb thing once in a rare while that becomes more frequent. Generally happens if you don't meticulously count your carbs every day. Happens a lot with things like seeds and nuts especially. Basically you think you're staying on plan, then take the time to figure up your carbs and find they have "crept" up on you and instead of eating 30-40 you find yourself eating 50-60 on a regular basis.

My numbers for today (and just finished dinner at nearly 9:00 I hate that :():

Scale dropped. I SAW a 3lb drop, but the first number was only a 1lb drop, so I'm taking that one. My goal was 1-2lbs per week, and last week was 1, so if this pound stays off I'm on track.

I watched the Extreme weight loss show last night and that guys addiction is so REAL. I was so glad they showed it...cause that is ME. In fact, when I mention my brother, he looks almost exactly like that guy. It was hard to watch, but I was so glad they showed it. Some people need more than just a guy yelling at you to work out. sigh

Well, still holding the same on the scale.
I am surprized as last night my DH and grown kids talked me into going to my fav Mexican food place and I really blew it. :(

They make any of their sandwiches in unwich form and Wow o wow did I enjoy my lunch...and it was VERY filling.

#16 Club Lulu made in "unwich" form (so wrapped in lettuce instead of bun).
Turkey breast, bacon, lettuce, tomato & mayo.
Added extra turkey and added avocado spread

Calories 480.3
Fat 34.67
Carbs 6.07 (fiber .89)
Protein 37.17

The only downside was sodium (1810 ) YOu can reduce that by not adding more turkey.

AND, if you want something else, add a whole pickle on the side which is 4.4 carbs and 4.4 fiber (however, again sodium is 2314 :eek::eek:)

but holy cow was it yummmmmmmmmy!!

Evening all!

Ammy your lunch sounds yummy! I tend to not obsess over sodium too much, especially after Dr. Mike's last blog, but that's me :)

Extremely hot here today, normal temps over 100 and the "feels like" was around 115... ugh! And it tends to run about 80 in my office. They replaced the building AC last week so now the showroom gets comfortable but it hasn't done a whole lot for the office. Think they're going to make some "routing" changes in the ventilation system.

Today was a 2/2 day as a friend of DH's wanted to take us to dinner so it was a "command" performance... Mexican which I'm not overly fond of anyways. I NEAN'd the chips (and impressed everyone at the table!) found a chicken/cheese dish on the menu that had a side of rice/bean but not wrapped in a tortilla so had that and gave DH the rice/beans (I had a couple of bites of beans).

Numbers approximated due to the eating out, but I think pretty close...

Protein: 229.5
Carbs: 30.6
Water: 152! and living in the bathroom today too ;)

WAY TO GO BECCA! (I hate when they put those chips in front of me, I just eat them compulsively)

Yesterday wasn't that great, I get 0/4 although still not as bad as what I used to have. I got really hungry and binged a little on fruit so the carbs were about 80. No exercise, not enough water and no supplements. Today I was tempted to eat some oreos, correction, I'm still tempted. Maybe I'll have a treat for myself in lieu of oreos.

Hi. y'all,

Ammy, wow, way to go! That is fantastic!
Trina, I know what you mean about fruit. I have a hard time controlling it. I try to save my summer fruit for cherries as they are easier to count and their season is so very short and they are my favorite fruit.!

Today, scale was down 0.2lb.
Not a lot, but I will take it.

Menu:
B: two eggs, coffee w/ half and half, hood choc milk
S: kroger sf yogurt(carbmaster)in tropical fruit
L:egg salad on lettuce, 5 ranier cherries
Planned:
S: oz gryere cheese, sf bread and butter pickle slices
D: grilled chicken, green salad, 10 ranier cherries

Will post totals later.

Hey Claudette, sounds like you're doing well!

Doing OK here. The scale is dropping a little every day since my birthday indulgences. It was up before my b-day so I don't know how much more it will drop at this point, but it's doing something. I made a huge batch of breakfast bars for when my brother and his family are here starting next week, so that I can have stuff to tuck in my purse when we're out doing sight-seeing stuff or whatever and I'm tempted to snack on bad things.

Hey Claudette, looks like just the two of us today! The breakfast bars are here. (http://proteinpower.com/forum/showthread.php?p=115511#post115511)

Doing OK, but last night I tried on some clothes as we were sorting through some boxes for a garage sale. I hoped some might fit me after losing 10ish lbs., but not even close. I felt SO fat. :( I know that when I was in those sizes, a lot of people told me I was too thin, and I know I'm very close to a very healthy weight (already in healthy range, just high-end), and I am NOT going to spend a lot of time wishing to be that weight again, because I just don't feel that's realistic. I was single and very restrictive in my diet and life is just much different now. So I'm going to give those clothes away and continue to work at my original PP goal and try not to be so sad about not being a skinny mini anymore! (Hard to believe sometimes I went from so heavy to literally "skinny"....... now "healthy" is a better goal.)

Ammy
07-16-2011, 08:24 AM
Morning all.
Tracy, TOO skinny is just as bad as too heavy...glad you're in a healthy range.
It's going to be 90s here all week. THat's WAY too hot. My poor garden needs a bit of shade!! And so do we. I don't mind the heat, but the humidity that makes it had to breathe is what kills me.
Today I'm cleaning, then off to the gym. I have a quick meeting at 10:30, then heading to two movies.
Meals are planned. Should be a good day.
B: 2eggs, 2turkey hot dogs
L: curry chicken salad wrap
S: burger, salad or veggie (going to restaurant)
sn: nuts

Tracy, another thing you have to factor in is having had a baby. Even if you lose every single ounce back to that weight (which is probably not healthy) your body has changed shape (hips, etc..) so they probably wouldn't fit anyway ;)

Old clothes is on my project list, but as they're packed up in the attic it's not "pressing". I had a pair of jeans (12) hanging in the downstairs closet as my "try on to test" and decided to give them to DD1 who happens to wear a 10/12, she couldn't even get them close to buttoned up. Tried DD2 (6/8 range) and she could fasten them but were TIGHT. I really think sizes just aren't what they used to be even factoring in jeans shrinkage. So that woke me up to the fact that anything I have that may be a 12 probably won't fit anyway. Course I'll be happy to see 16 at this point. ;)

Just want to say too how much of an inspiration Ammy and Tracy are with their triple digit losses! Love seeing those tickers. :D

So after my NEANing at the Mexican I went face first into the carbs the past 2 days :( Dunno what came over me Thursday afternoon... but it stuck around all the way through donuts last night. :( Still have them in the house but I haven't touched them today, it's like I'm "over" whatever it was. I had 2 shakes, Atkins bar and bacon/saugsage/eggs to eat today.

Protein: 192.3
Carbs: 31.4 (not factoring in Atkin's "claimed" carbs, just straight total-fiber)
Water: 104 + 12oz Diet Cheerwine used in a shake

Hi All, same as Becca, I too had a two day binge. Today didn't go so bad. 1600 calories, 51 carbs, lots pg water and did zumba first thing this morning. The stress of moving is getting to me but my new goal is to lose 33 before turning 33.
Piece of cake right?

Claudette

Hi, y'all,

Tracy, thanks for the breakfast bar link.
I know what you mean about skinny mini clothes. Just a few yrs ago, I could wear 6's. In my real skinny days, a 4. Now I would be estatic to be a 8 or 10. I am very short, so anything about a 12 makes me look like a beach ball. Menopause has really done it to me and I am definetly shaped different. Like you, I recently gave my "skinny" clothes away as my goal is to be at a healthy weight, hopefully at the top of normal for my height to get off that blasted CPAP machine!
Besides, at my age if I get too low on weight, I would look like an "unmade bed" and I do not want that! You hang in there, your weight loss is nothing to 'sneeze at'.
Ammy, Hi, so glad to "see ya". Your weight loss is so inspriring.
Becca, I know what you mean about "being over it". Try as I might, sometimes I am in that same situation and have to get back on PP when it is over. About how clothes are sized, a friend that worked in woman's wear once told me that only very expensive clothes were sized "true" and the cheaper the clothes, the higher up in the size you had to go to get a good fit. She also said the expensive clothes were sized just a little bigger so the rich women could feel they were wearing a smaller size. I never could shop in her store unless they were having a real clearance sale, then it was only very limitedly.
Trina, very worthy goal, 33lbs by 33. Hang in there. You can get back on plan.

Today, the scale was down 2.4lbs for the week.
Heading in the right direction.

Totals: carbs: 27 pro: 94.

Have a great day, all.

Morning all. It's been a good weekend for me, although the weight is fluxuating. I expected it, so I'm not surprised. The humidity is so high it flares my asthma and I can't breathe. I can't ever remember it being so humid outside? and I grew up in Iowa surrounded by damp cornfields.
Still eating on track. Tonight GF is cooking for me and we're having a shrimp/bok choy stirfry. Never had bok choy so I'm excited about it!

Oh, and we're going to look at a house today. It will probably be way too run down for us, but....can't hurt to look, right?

I absolutely friggin love bok choy but I'm scared to cook it myself. As for the house being run down just ask for a repair credit (if it's a regular sale, probably won't happen if it's a short sale or foreclosure).

Food has been pretty good today. I had some hungries that I wanted to knock out once and for all so I ate a 4 egg omlette with lots of cheddar and 4 slices of bacon, that was my lunch. Based on that I'm confident I won't have too many problems staying on plan for the rest of the day.

L:gro store chicken, fried, sans skin(this is my DH's fav and I had to study today), so I agreed, green salad w/ cherry tomatoes/LC dressing.

The house was a total disaster and needs to be torn down. The mildew smell alone made it almost intolerable to walk through.
There was water on the ceiling in the basement bathroom (under the 1st floor bathroom) and, well, it was sooooo bad. We all agreed the house should just be torn down. Too bad we didn't have the money to tear it down and rebuild on that land...LOVE the spot, and even loved the house layout! oh well, it wasn't the right house.

GirlFriend did a good job with the shrimp, bok choy, only there was so much juice she put it over rice..so there went my carbs.
But I have to say, scale is climbing anyway. I'm not sure it's weight, as that was pretty much the only carbs I had yesterday...but our heat index is so high it's like a rainforest outside. In fact, we had the same dew point as Guam, whose climate is described as "tropical marine". The windows were completely fogged up and dripping on the OUTSIDE because of the cool inside air and hot muggy outside. I was chatting with someone in Texas who said her temps were the same, but we won out in humidity...by a LANDSLIDE. And it's only getting worse this week as the humidity is staying, and the temps are rising. By Wednesday the heat index (what it will feel like) is 120 and WET air. awful. It will feel hotter here than it does in Saudi Arabia.

Food is planned.
B: 3eggs, cheese, brat, blueberries
L: boneless ribs with dry rub, homemade coleslaw
sn: nuts
S: either bunless burger and salad, or chicken with dijon sauce and salad

trina

We took our girls to see Winnie the Pooh last night and I ate the concession stand food (I'll spare the gory details) so all that confidence I had yesterday went out the window.

Today will be better:
B: coffee with creamer & splenda, 4 slices of bacon and 5 grape tomatoes
L: salad with tabouli, chicken and hummus
S: slim jim, cheese sticks
D: burger pattie with grape tomatoes

:eek:Amy that really stinks about the house. We went in to some VERY disappointing houses as well and it actually took about 8 months for us to find the perfect house. Was it a foreclosure? Those were the WORST.

Glad you enjoyed your dinner though. (Why didn't your GF just grab a slotted spoon or something instead of serving with rice? I'm only asking because I think I'm misunderstanding something.)

Ammy

Trina, the better question was...why didn't I leave the rice? :o

It was supposedly purchased in Oct, but then came up again. Our realtor didn't know anything about the house, but when we arrived, we saw it was in foreclosure.
I still can't get the stink out of my head.

Trina, no worries...I was blaming myself for EATING the rice. I certainly could have left most of it in the bowl...but just ate everything.
Personally, I don't think there was enough (or any??) fat in the dish, and needed some to fill me up.
She said next time she might add some corn starch to thicken it.... I asked her to leave it more low carb, but we'll see.

I have never cooked bok choy either, but GF did mention she sauteed the white harder parts first, then added the green's later.
I tasted the stuff raw..BLECH!! But I really really liked it cooked.

Just another fly-by check-in for me. DH is on vacation for two weeks and my family will be "descending" upon us in two days, and tonight we're cooking turkey dinner for a single dad with five kids. Well I was doing good until I got home from work :( Had bacon/eggs for breakfast; steak Ceasar salad for lunch... then worked late, left after 4:00 (and am normally home by 3:00 4 at the absolute latest)... ate my cheese in the car on the way home, but was still starving.

Then did a big no-no... went to the grocery store hungry. So donuts and IC.. which then led to Chick Fil A for dinner.

Worst part is we HAD to go to the store so there would be milk (for the DDs) for dinner and tomorrow while I was gone. But by the time we got home I was too hot/tired and blah to even think about cooking dinner.

So back on track (mostly) tomorrow... having Dreamfields for dinner tomorrow.

Before my slip today I hadn't even had 10 carbs too. Oh well.

It's soooooo daaarrrrrrrrrrnnnn Hoooooooooot!!! Just miserable. I live in MN so I don't have to endure such heat. And i work in AC!! But it's having a hard time keeping up. I'm just so glad we have power!
Tomorrow we have tickets to the Twins NOON game in their new outdoor stadium. It's going to be 100 tomorrow with a dew point in the 80s again. Which makes it feel like 113. Not sure what we're going to do. I figure we'll go for an hour or two, then leave no later than 3 which is the hottest time of the day.

Went to bed hungry last night, but just ignored it. I'd had enough. I made a dijon chicken yesterday which is a recipe I found in the coupon section. It was dijon mustard, cream cheese, chix broth, and fresh basil and garlic from the garden. cook til thickened and pour over your chicken. I LOVED it!

Meals are planned for today:
b: 3eggs with cheese, brat, blueberries
l: boneless ribs, coleslaw

s: salad with 2oz chicken or tuna (less meat since I had a big snack)

Tracy, hang in there. You can do it.

Well, last night my numbers were: carbs: 32 pro: 78.

Tonight: ~ 81 carbs, 80 protein.

We took our next door neighbor to Italian restaurant tonight,(her fav), she is leaving to move back to NYC on Aug 31 and tonight was her Birthday.
She is more than a neighbor, now a good friend who I will truly miss. She has been there since we moved into four years ago. The new owners seem ok, but it won't be the same. :(

I did ok today, and then tonight, I had a side salad w/ house dressing and a very small serving of my fav, cheese ravoli w/ marinara sauce.

Maybe, these choices won't stall me too much. After all, I made the choice. Not the best choice, but I haven't had it in I don't know when.

Good thought, Claudette. Too bad about the knocking! What don't people understand about the closed door?

My biggest issue is portion size at dinner. I still struggle with eating to satiety vs. full.Don't give up, Goose. It takes some time to get everything into place.

I'm working on my 3 day success streak. I'm back to taking my vitamins and drinking enough water as well. I also started taking hapkido, that'll be 2 times/week and I pre-paid for 4 zumba classes so activity and food are both lookin' good.

I'm also going to go buy another scale (for those that missed it, I was obsessed with the scale and would get VERY depressed when it was in a bad mood so I gave it to my sister).

Hope so too! Think of how hot the players will be!

Yeah they're certainly probably hot, but not temperature wise:p

Trying to eat lunch today with the door shut (and locked) and everyone keeps knocking. Better go back to shake and raw veggies.

Either you're a much needed person at your job or your co-workers are just pushy, hopefully it's the former in your case.

Typical routine:
B: Protein shake + a spoonful of coconut oil
L: Sausage & eggs
D: Planned

This has been working for me since I switched over. My biggest issue is portion size at dinner. I still struggle with eating to satiety vs. full.

I don't know where I picked this up (probably Dr. Mikes blog or Carol) but when I add more fat to dinner I have less problems with portion sizes. If I cook something that's naturally higher in fat such as steaks I'm fine but if I cook chicken breast or shrimp I have to load up on coconut or olive oil in the pan, sometimes I'll even have a bacon snack after wards just to knock out the "residual hunger".

Sounds like folks are on track today.... my day has gone well. Had Dreamfields for dinner, counting straight total-fiber, no claims from the box. Also ate very early (for us) so hopefully I dont' get hungry again later.

This morning's breakfast didn't hold me long though (about 2 hours :( ) I had bacon, eggs, butter, salt and pepper. Had that Monday and it held me about 5 hours. There just doesn't seem to be any sort of pattern which makes planning very difficult.

So today's numbers:

Protein: 122.5
Carbs: 47.6
Water: 100.. will probably have another 20oz between now and bed though

There just doesn't seem to be any sort of pattern which makes planning very difficult.I know what you mean. Sometimes it seems to have something to do with what/how much I drink, or how busy I am, or other things that seem unrelated. If I have too much time on my hands, I will get hungry earlier than if I'm swamped with work or having a really good time.

Yesterday didn't go so well. I got the munchies late at night, possibly due to irritation about something (dh involved). I hate to blame my eating problems on stress, it seems like I'm over-simplifying the problem but there's also a heavy correlation. After having a moderately good day I ate a BUNCH of blueberries and two atkins bars. My totals for yesterday are: 2200 calories and 56 carbs.

Oh well, I'm on track so far today (even though it's not even 10:30 yet). Hapkido again tonight so I won't worry if I go over 1800 calories.

Hope everyone has a great day :-)

It's a rough day here as well.

I'm not feeling good, my foot hurts and I'm wearing heels, and we're still entertaining customers...and I'm sick of it.
They leave at one, and it's 11:45......:D
I'm leaving at 3, and not a minute after. I'm tired and a touch crabby. OKay, a LOT crabby.

BUT...the farmers market today is chock full of goodies.
I walked away with medium size cukes (the most flavorful IMHO), beets, zucchini, and radishes.
I'm not a fan of raw radishes, but I have been seeing recipes that say "cook'um like potatoes", so that's what I'm going to do.

Numbers are good, Becca. :) When I have the growlies and don't want to eat, I might grab a sf jello or a glass of almond milk. That usually does the trick with minimal fuss.

Hi, y'all,

Was home today, back hurting again. I have a annular tear from L4-S1, thank goodness no bone/nerve damage, but the tear is making it slower to heal. (MRI) revealed this last week. Doc says it eventually will heal. Still have the weight limit.

On track today.
Tonight, was GD's 2nd Birthday party, (her actual B'Day is next Tuesday) but son, DIL wanted to have it tonight as it was a year ago today that my sweet MIL died. It was a nice diversion and lightened the day.
I ate the food there that was on plan.

Hi, ya'll,
Thanks, Carol, for the support.

Still on track today.

Scale is up another 1 lb, to make me up for the 4lbs I had lost.
I remember reading somewhere, when you cheat, it might not show up for a day or two. Guess it showed up today.

Due to my age and medication I am on, I must be really sensative to any carbs other than low carb veggies. Have had wheat this week, that might be another reason.

MENU;
b; two eggs, choc hood milk, tea, four ranier cherries
s:kroger carbmaster yogurt
l: deli ham/cheese, 1/4 english cucumber w/ tiny tomato, lc Italian dressing
s:cabot cheese, cheddar, ranier cherries
d: ? will post later.

Happy Friday, all.

Pedicure (monthly) tonight after work.
Always makes me feel better.

Busy time here, sorry I'm not around so much. My brother and family are visiting, I'm cooking and tidying up and we're sightseeing and stuff.

I'm trying my best to keep eating properly in spite of the company. Yesterday there was a request made for shepherd's pie for supper, so I did have some of that, but mostly took the bottom part -- just a small bit of potato. Today we're going to have lunch out, so I think I will eat something in advance and try to minimize my carb intake out.

Due to my age and medication I am on, I must be really sensative to any carbs other than low carb veggies. Have had wheat this week, that might be another reason. I hear ya, Claudette. I'm finding that now that I'm officially "middle-aged", I must be a LOT more sensitive to carbs than I used to be. My weight just doesn't drop if I'm not super restrictive.

Good plan, Tracy. If you know where you're going to eat, you can probably check out the menu online and make a choice. That's if you have time, of course! ;)

Out and about this morning and forgot to eat breakfast first. I came across a Kars package of almonds, cashews and peanuts at a gas station. It added up to 10g carbs and 4g fiber (6g ecc), so that and a cup of coffee made a good breakfast for me. I think that's a new product for them.

Hi Ladies.... remember me??? I am so sorry I have been MIA for so very long. It has been a rough couple of months.

I have to admit, I am really struggling and I am coming here at 5:35 am to get myself back on track and back under accountability.

Since June.... my youngest baby boy turned 5. So we had parties and celebrations (AND CAKE!!!!!!!) for that. I have been suffering from headaches since the beginning of June. Doctor thought it was a sinus infection and gave me antibiotics, but they only went away for a few days and then came back full force before I even finished the meds. I am completely convinced I have a brain tumor (I can be a little dramatic when I feel bad sometimes). Just kidding of course, but I really hope that is not true. I am not a headache person. I never get headaches. My mom and sister both suffer from migraines, so it has me really worried that they won't go away for good. I do get a day or two here and now of relief - then it comes back. Tonight, I woke from a dead sleep with one and have been awake ever since.... :( I do jest about my dramatic, hypochondriac thoughts.... but I admit this really has me worried. :( We went to the beach for a week. That was fun but got me all off schedule. I pulled a leg muscle and have been dealing with that. Every time I think I am healed, I go to the gym and pull it again. While on vacation, I pushed myself and went on a 7.5 mile bike ride. The next day, I stood up from our booth at dinner and turned wrong - pulling the muscle so badly I could not take a single step. My husband had to basically carry me out of the restaurant and home. He was awesome but I am sure I looked like a freak show as I weigh a good 80 pounds more than him. Embarrassing!!! My twin boys turned 8 last week, so we had parties and celebrations for that (AND MORE CAKE!!!!!!!) My hubby is going to college this summer to complete his teacher certification and he is also starting to work on his Masters.... so I have been playing the single parent role a LOT and it is exhausting. Plus I keep my 2 nieces during the week so 5 days a week I have 5 kids ages 8 years to 20 months here.

Again... it has been a hard two months. I have not been great about my eating. I am SURE my blood sugar levels and my cholesterol have gone back out of whack. I have been doing more of a weight maintenance routine... eat good 2 days, bad 1 day, good 3 days, bad 4 days. Back and forth. I have exercised pretty well - except for when my leg hurts. I will say that I weighed in this morning at 257 - only 2 pounds above my lowest weigh in - so I am happy about the fact that I have not gained all my weight back. But I know I am SOOOOOOO far off track that if I don't get back on board I will easily gain it back soon.

And I am soooooo tired of all my normal foods. I need help! I am not a good cook - just average. My hubby and kids like it okay and even tell me it is good. But the problem is I HATE my own cooking. I don't know what it is..... when I smell the meats cooking, I can't eat it when I am done. It turns my stomach. I have resorted to eating a lot of fastfood because of this - chicken nuggets from Chick-Fil-A or chicken salads from various restaurants. But I HAVE to stop this - it costs a fortune to do that! And I must figure out new recipes if I want to do this for life. Help!

And finally.... I have been worried sick that I am pregnant. I will find out for sure next week but I have been having ALL the symptoms. Seriously.... I will be a mess if I am. I used to want 4 kids so badly, but once I started keeping my nieces, I knew that would just be way too much for me. SIX KIDS! I don't know how I would do that. I can handle 5, we even leave the house together and go in public! But I know 6 would push me over the edge. Not to mention, we just don't have the finances for this. My hubby suffered 3 major job losses in 3 years due to the economy stuff and we are FINALLY getting back on our feet now. Having another baby would put so much on us..... I have three jobs I work on top of being home with my kids, and I just don't know how I would do those jobs with another baby. I can barely do them now.......

So...... as you can see I am basically a mess right now. Sorry to go on and on and on about ME ME ME. I feel like I am being a burden..... I just really needed to come and get it all off my shoulders.... to confess my "sins" with my eating and get my mind focused again. Thank you for listening.... hope I am not being a pain. :o

I have definitely realized that I REALLLLLLLLY need this place. I need accountability and structure. I don't do well without it. So I am going to make a POINT to come here every single day and check in - even when I am not doing well. Even on my off days. I will check in!!!! That is my commitment from this moment forward.

Will you gals take me back? I have really missed all of you! :)

I have to admit, I am really struggling and I am coming here at 5:35 am to get myself back on track and back under accountability.I think a daily dose of PP forum is going to help a lot!

I am not a headache person. I never get headaches. My mom and sister both suffer from migraines, so it has me really worried that they won't go away for good. HG, there are many contributing factors to headaches. Sometimes it's a food sensitivity. Mine start out as a sinus-type thing that seems to be related to my neck vertebrae being pulled askew by my shoulder muscles. A trip to the doctor usually relieves it within 24 hrs. Even migraines have triggers that you might explore. See if you notice any patterns.

It's a lot harder to focus on eating right when you're in pain. If the smell of meat cooking doesn't agree with you, try cooking a roast or a bird and freezing the meat in meal-sized portions for other days. Experiment with seasoning. Heating up one portion is quicker and less expensive than Chick-Fil-A. Or don't reheat it, just slice it cold and wrap it in leaf lettuce with some dressing for a "sandwich"! Cold meat also is great in a salad. I am all for quick and simple, so any recipe has to pass that test.

HG welcome back. Even when things aren't going well this is a great place to be :) (this coming from someone that has left and come back more times than I can count ;) )

I can certainly sympathize on the headache front. My mom and sister both had migraines from a very early age, mine didn't kick in til my late 30s and I seem to be making up for lost time.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I've had my breakfast and did a bit of exercise already (the warmup/cooldown portions of my DTWS DVD). My agenda for the weekend includes paying bills :( and cleaning out the "linen" closet (that is more used for cleaning supplies and a medicine cabinet) in the hallway.

Hi, y'all,

Scale today is trending down some.

Have a confession, somewhat embarissing, but here goes.

I sucumbed to 30 carbs worth of Ruffles plain potato chips.
It was a huge craving and I just gave in with the "only one bite" line I am so good about using.

Though, that will make my carb count up from what I would like, I am proud of me as I only ate that amount instead of blowing PP off and finishing the whole bag! :D

This is the first time ever I was able to stop a binge before it got out of control.
DH and I agreed today that he would only buy the flavored kind that I can live without. He will hide the rest of the bag where I can't find it.

Menu:
B: atkins shake, small piece of fruit (before Sunday School today).
S: oz cheddar, few SF bread and butter pickle slices
L: grilled steak, mixed green salad w/ LC dressing, Tbsp of friend/neighbor's navy beans everyone else ate, few asparagus spears.
Sucumbed to:
S: 30 carbs :o from Ruffles potato chips with picante sauce.
Planned:
D: grilled catfish, green beans, tossed mixed salad, flavored ice tea SF at our favorite restaurant. (DH loves this place).

Yesterday didn't end on a high note... was under 100 for the day but that's all I can say.

I have been SO SORE these past two days. I can barely walk and getting in/out of a chair (or other seated positions) is excrutiating :(

Today was a bit better, but weird... didn't eat anything til after 12:00 then it seemed like I was constantly hungry after that (1:00, 2:00, etc...). Had fajitas for dinner, later than I would've liked too, and was starving. Ended up having 2 instead of 1 and followed by the last of my SF IC. So most of my carbs at one sitting.

Today's numbers...

Protein: 119.8
Carbs: 47.3
Water: 68.. .not good. Around 5:00 I realized that I'd only had 20 oz all day :(
Supplements: not today
Exercise: since moving is so painful at the moment no... too much effort to just get around right now.

Discovered from reading Jimmy Moore's latest n=1 experiment that raw milk is availabe in SC, and from his reading doesn't do a number on blood sugar even though it has 12 carbs, think I may locate some and use it for my shakes for a bit.

Thanks so much for the welcome back.... that meant a lot to me. :)

Checking in for the day - even though it is technically Monday here now.

Struggling a little.... I found a lump in my arm pit along the side of my breast. Must admit it has me completely freaked out. Trying not to worry. It is pretty painful and tender when I press on it so I am hoping that is good news... that it is just a cyst or infection that my lymph nodes are trying to clear out or something. And not the "C" word. :(

Exactly a year ago today, my doc called me to tell me that the biopsy on my thyroid tumor came back with a less than 1% chance that it was NOT cancer. (Thankfully, they were wrong and the tumor was benign) So that fact I found that lump last night did not do well with my psyche..... I freaked out all over again and just had a major worry-fit all day like I did this time last year.

I did not eat well at all today. Once I freaked out, my sister took me to the movies to see Bridesmaids. She wanted to get my mind off of my worrying.... that definitely worked for a couple of hours... that movie is hilarious. But I just allowed myself to eat whatever I wanted. Was not in the frame of mind to be counting protein and carbs today. We talked for a bit. Then I came home and climbed in bed and my hubby twirled my hair (my favorite thing in the whole world) and talked to me.

Feeling a little better now.... planning to call my OBGYN first thing in the morning. He is a family friend so he usually gets me in immediately. Hope he can work me in sometime tomorrow because I don't know if I can make it another 24 hours without talking to him. :(

Am planning to get up tomorrow and get right back on track with my eating.

AMMY.... what kind of shakes do you make? You have me intrigued. I have been really struggling with what to eat everyday. I am SOOOOOO tired of everything. Maybe I need to try some shakes! TIA! :)

Ammy

I was looking at all the shakes in the recipe section of this site. I also remember a "diet orange soda, protein powder, powdered milk" shake I use to make, but Carol, you make shakes often...what do you make?

Also, I ordered the 6wk cure book, it should be here wednesday. That will have shake receipes, right?

gitfiddle

When I was working, I made a shake for breakfast every day. Basically, 8 oz of liquid (water, cold coffee, almond milk, etc.), a couple of scoops of zero-carb whey (~25g protein each) and something to flavor it. I preferred strawberries or mango chunks with cinnamon. If I used coffee for the liquid, I added cream and cocoa powder. Sometimes I dropped in a raw egg and added nutmeg. I usually also added a squirt of sf syrup and sometimes a couple of tablespoons of heavy cream. I tried to keep it to 10ecc.

It's quick and easy cleanup with a smoothie blender. Usually lasted me until lunch, but that was with the addition of a couple of cups of coffee at work.

The 6WC book has shake recipes, often using combinations of sf syrup. I like daVinci, but I can't find it locally any more. Torani seems just as good. Haven't tried Starbucks.

I am a morning eating...I WANT FOOD!
and I pre-make all my breakfasts and lunches. It's supper where I get into trouble.
We'll see how long it lasts. It will for sure last as long as the ricotta, and protein power lasts LOL!!

The oreos were 39 carbs, the GOOD news is that I'm actually logging those in, moving forward and NOT letting it ruin the rest of my day. More good news, I only gained about 5 lbs during about 1 month of very spotty eating. (I bought another scale.)

We talked for a bit. Then I came home and climbed in bed and my hubby twirled my hair (my favorite thing in the whole world) and talked to me.

Aww, isn't that sweet:) Hope you get good news at all of your doctors appointments.

Hi, y'all,

Wow, looks like others also had a weekend to forget.
I tend to think it is only "me" that tends to go astray.

Carol, thanks for the support. I can hardly wait untill "things don't bother me anymore" food wise.
Ammy, I am thinking about ordering the 6 week plan. As hot as it is here, shakes sound great for the evening meal.
Trina, way to go. I learned this weekend I don't have to let one slip derail my whole day.
Becca, hang in there.

I am home today. Doctor's appt.

Meals planned.
B: two eggs, cooked in butter w/ veletta slice (really love this and it holds me), hood choc milk, tea.
L: atkins shake, small mixed gree salad w/ splash of viva Italian dressing
S:kroger yogurt carbmaster
D: bratwurst, saurkraut, few ranier cherries

New week, on track is the plan.

I had a good weekend. Scale is looking good for the start of the week.

Will this be my first new low since I lost 0.2 last December (12/23/10)? Or the previous new low I hit in October 2009 (10/28/09)?

Maybe I'm finally primed for another new low? :P

Is there anything comforting (or can be transformed into comforting) that fits into your low-carb plan?

Okay, I threw together my first shake...not bad!
6tbsp ricotta (3.8carbs, 10g protein)
protein powder (3ecc, 30g protein)
diet sunkist orange (0 counts)
ice

total carbs: 7
total protein: 40g
total calories: 280

Very basic, but it made a nice smooth creamsicle. Yum!
And...NO POWDER RESIDUE! I HATE the powder reside.

Protein powder I purchased was GNC Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60, vanilla flavored. He promised it was great tasting, and he's right. The vanilla added a nice touch to my smoothie.

I also purchased a single smoothie maker from Hamilton Beach where the mixer part is also the cup...which means LESS DISHES!! woot!

Now that I've had "supper", I'm off to the gym. I have reserved the right to eat celery or lettuce later if I need to "crunch". And I still haven't had my snack for the day, which is 1oz of mixed nuts.
even with all that (and the mixed fruit I had for breakfast) I'm at 40ecc for the day.

trina.... so sorry about the argument, but i am proud of you for not blowing the whole day because of it. that is AWESOME progress! i think those moments count more than an actual loss.... because you are making great strides in the way you handle what life throws at you. you are doing a great job! (HUG)

------------------------------------------------------

called the doctor today. he cannot see me until thursday. UGH! so i have an appt schedule for 8:45 am. will let you know how it goes.

finally took a pregnancy test today. couldn't stand the wait any longer. it was negative (whew!). i will probably take another one in a couple of days if TOM does not show up.

went to the gym today. so glad i did because two of my friends were there. one recently went through a battle with cervical cancer. she is doing well now and is in remission. i talked with her about the lump and how i am fearful. so happy i did.... she made me feel SOOOOO MUCH better. she has had numerous lumps in her underarms removed over the past 10 years. all seemed to be the same location, same size and feel and they all hurt to the touch - just like mine. and all were benign. she said her doctor told her that typically a tender or painful lump is NOT cancer, usually just a cyst or some sort of infection in the lymph nodes. i really feel more and more that this is the case because when i woke up today, the swelling had gone down a great deal AND it does not hurt as much. so i am feeling much more calm about it. i will still see the doctor on thursday. i need to get a baseline mammogram anyway because i am 38 - so this is a good time to get a thorough looking over and make sure all is okay.

i did not even attempt to follow the plan today. woke up sad and depressed and just did not even try to focus on it. which is BAD of me. i KNOW i need to focus even during those times. it is a mental battle and i am letting it defeat me. but i ended the day well in that i really got into a better mood, i ate a lighter dinner and worked out for 1 hour and 45 minutes at the gym. i burned 730 calories so maybe i made up a little for all that crap i ate.

i also watched extreme weightloss tonight. it was a good thing for me to see... she really struggled with some life issues but pushed through to get back on track. that is a good lesson to learn. so tomorrow is a new day and i will be starting it on the RIGHT foot! i will also be looking at ONE day at a time and making it the best i can.... this is a life journey not a quick fix. :)

hope you ladies have a great night!

That is a LOT!! Glad the swelling is down and it's not so painful today.

Becca, hope you have a better day today!

Claudette, I got my for $12 at Target. :D

Well, I was curious if I'd survive on just having the shake last night...and i did. I had a glass of red wine before bed, but had no desire to eat anything. I felt full and satisfied! Nice!
AND, the scale dropped a LOT overnight. This happens, I'm not getting excited about it because it does climb back up, we it sure was nice to see this morning.

Meals are all the same this week:
B: turkey brat, 2egg salad, caveman fruit salad
L: burger, caesar salad (no croutons)
Sn: nuts or cheese if needed
S: shake

My counts without nuts or wine:
PRo: 103
ecc: 28
Fat: 98
Cal: 1432

My counts with nuts and wine:
Pro: 107
ecc: 35
Fat: 114
Cal: 1730

so each day will be between those counts. All well within my guidelines.

Encouraging. It could be because the shake is easier to digest than a whole dinner. Less salty too, probably.

Michigan is having day two of a two-day humidity break. I'll be sorry to have it go up again tomorrow. My motto lately has been "Eat light at night" and it works well for me. The trick is to ignore the Geezer's late-night snacking habit and have my supper by 6 PM. Even greek yogurt is too much after that, because it's so rich.

Thanks Trina. I didn't necessarily have "high quality" carbs though... came from my shake (protein powder and cream both have carbs), almonds, Lindt, peanut butter, cheese.. and trace amounts in tuna, mayo, and black pepper.

Carol I do take chromium (when I remember to do my supplements at all), but perhaps it hasn't been steady enough to help that aspect. Think my current version is the pico type as I have a note on there to get the poly type next time (I can't remembr the specific spelling).

Been cloudy and rainy here the past few days too, definitely doesn't help my frame of mind. I need sunshine :)

I've not been an "evening muncher" in awhile, so I think it's legitimate...but I still just get over it.

My caloric intake has gone from 2000 per day to about 1500 with one meal as a shake, so I think some hunger pangs are to be expected.

Usually the online label is pretty close to what you find in the store, especially GNC products. That means 20 protein per scoop and thus if you're using 1/2 a scoop only 10 grams protein... no wonder you were hungry Ammy!! ;)

I know when I'm doing the 6WC shake thing I actually have a lot more calories, carbs and protein than "normal". Even my shakes now have fewer everything than those. My protein powder (EAS 100% Whey) has 23 grams protein and 2 ECCs (3-1) per scoop and then with cream (usually 2 oz) it can get pretty heavy. I used to do almond butter and cottage cheese instead of cream, but it was getting pricey.

Re: Chromium... I also take it for blood sugar control. I can't remember if I bought the "Pico" on purpose or was just looking for chromium. Something I've read relatlively recently prompted me to put the sticky note on the bottle... so I supsect either Primal Blueprint (or something on MDA), 6WC or Jimmy Moore's book had me making a note to change it. Think it has to do with effectiveness or something.

Other than aggrevated with DH (pretty much a constant state around here, just worse on his days off) I'm having a pretty good day. Got out of work "on time" instead of late today so that was nice.

Currently hungry so off to have almonds and Lindt til we go off to dinner.

Maybe the BLT and remove the bread? Then eat my burger with it?
Oh, I just googled Coppa and it's the back of the head of a pig??? Or something like that...

BLT: maple-glazed bacon, heirloom tomatoes, lettuce, and avocado
Mozzerella & Tomato Sandwich: house-made walnut pesto, local mozzerella, heirloom tomatoes, and arugula
Grilled Cheese: two local cheeses on sourdough with caramelized onions, cabbage-fennel slaw
Duck Confit: with house-made rhubarb sauce, lettuce, and cornichons
Grilled Ham and Brie: with pear and arugula
Charcuterie Sandwich: locally cured coppa with cherry mostarda, arugula, and meyer-lemon vinaigrette

Charcuterie Sandwich: locally cured coppa with cherry mostarda, arugula, and meyer-lemon vinaigrette
Soup: apple parsnip (changes seasonally)
Salad: microgreens, roasted corn, pickled beets, goats-milk brie, toasted pecans, maple vinaigrette

I cannot believe this is the menu of a food truck! When I think food truck I think tacos, hot dogs and pretzels.

Food trucks here (and many places) have gotten quite gourmet.

I decided on the BLT, which I then scraped out the insides and put it on the burger I had planned for lunch.
The bread was this very yummy crusty thing...which normally I could NOT give up...but I dont' eat bread anymore, so I scraped and gave it to the guy who eats everything.

I did order their homemade mojito...which is a very sour carbinated drink with no alcohol. Takes like fresh lime juice and soda water. I'm sure it has sugar, but it's really not sweet at all.

Note to self: what is the title of this months challenge? Plan B. Have a Plan B.
....
Plan for tomorrow.
Bring LC shake for lunch, raw veggies, sf jello or may eat my dreamfield's pasta salad left over from today.
cheddar cheese for snack.
lots of water.
stay away from the junk that is always in my clinic. :o

Better day tomorrow.
Nicely done, Claudette! Especially the "junk" statement. That could be well be the most important part!

I'm off to a good start. I had some of my dh's protein shake this morning. It was 18 carbs but 52 grams of protein so I'm still happy with it. It's 11am and no hunger either so that's pretty good. The bad news about the shake is that it was 731 calories (because I added 4 oz cream) so I bought myself some shrimp for lunch because they're low cal (no need to worry, I added some olive oil to the shrimp)....
OH YEAH, plan B! Seems so simple in theory.
I agree. It becomes a habit when you follow it, though. I believe we learn as much from our mistakes as we do from our successes. Learning from others' mistakes is even better! :)

That's a great choice, Amy! It's also nice to have a friend to put the high-carb leftovers to good use. ;)

It reminds me of a meal I had while on vacation. I planned to order an omelet with no potatoes and no toast but my guest told me she would eat them in addition to her breakfast. :p The worst part was that she decided she didn't want the potatoes and I had to eat around them.

Another hot, exhausting day... ugh! At least I didn't give in and go out to eat (for free sweet tea night!) with DH and DD1.

Today's numbers:

Protein: 153.3
Carbs: 20.6
Water: 120
Supplements done
Exercise... picked up the remnants of a bush I chopped up a month or so ago, had to attempt to break it down and squeeze it into the trash cans. Arms are sore so must've done something ;) and was outside barefoot for a while too. Main thing I got out of the house (and away from the computer/tv) for a bit.

True, since Ive been slacking so much lately I need to get back into the habits I had before my sister's wedding.Great idea, Trina!!! Remember the object is to keep the carbs down so that the body resorts to burning fat for energy. If you keep feeding it carbs, it can't convert! It has nothing to do with calories, although it doesn't hurt to keep track.

Maybe in August we'll read the book again? What do you all think?

Hi,y'all,

Ammy, I bought a Hamilton Beach Individual Blender with to go cup at my Walmart! Going to try it out tomorrow.
Carol, thanks for the support. Didn't even look at the junk today at work.
Becca, good for you for resiting the free sweet tea and dinner. Sweet tea really lurks here in the South. I know how exhausting the heat is. 105 or something today.
Trina, I used to drink a shake every day at breakfast. With added fiber and cream, it would hold me quite awhile.

Today was better.

Menu:
B-eggs, hood choc milk, tea
L-Atkins shake, mixed green salad w/ lite dressing
S-1oz boar's head deli ham
D-grocery store fried chicken with the skin all peeled off(DH favorite), cup of watermelon
Bedtime: LC ice cream mini bar

OH yeah, the added fiber sounds like a good idea too.

Good Morning All, I woke up to another yummy shake. Im happy people on here started really "focusing" on them because I don't know if I would have tried it. :D I'll take a long lunch today and go get some with less sugar AND stop going in to my husband's supply (he really loves his protein in ANY form)

The reviews of my smoothie maker talked about the motor burning out.
Last night I saw what them meant. Mine still works fine, but I learned to put the ricotta, liquid, then protein powder in...blend that. THen put in some ice cubes. If you put the ice cubes in the bottom, they can jam the machine.
I just used a spoon and moved the ice, then it blended and chopped the ice just fine.
I also learned...do NOT put the dry powder in first. Put it on top or it's hard to mix it in.

So...scale is up 1lb. I.will.not.panic.

Tonight I am not having a shake, I'm having dinner out with friends.
I'm having a burger (no bun) with a side salad, and I will share an order of fried cheese curds. I am having less carbs today to make up for the cheese curd carbs, so I'll still be well within limits.

Amy, I had one really good one that lasted for years and the subsequent ones are not great. I didn't use ice, but frozen fruit. I also got a better shake by putting the liquid in first and the powder last.

Oops, I just remembered I have the PPLP on audio book which I can definitely commit to listening to.

Other than that dealing with emotional/irritation eating might be something that I could focus on.

Could someone look at this and tell me if it's a good choice for price etc? It says zero carb on the front but reading the label it looks like 1 carb for 2 scoops (much better than 15 for 2 scoops like I had this morning).

http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=NP-1099It's a little confusing because it's named as "low-carb" but the graphic says "zero carb". Netrition.com has zero-carb Isopure for $38.99/3#. They also have low-carb isopure listed in 7.5# containers. I would guess it's all the same, but it's hard to tell. The nutrition at Netrition looks like zero carbohydrate for both.

I like the idea of reading for next month. Would we all be reading the same book, if so which one? and would we be trying to keep pace with each other or discussing what we've read or what? Gives the challenge a nice focus I think.

Hi Ladies....

Feeling much better today than I have the last few weeks.

Went to the doctor yesterday. The appt went really well. I woke up yesterday morning and the lump was totally gone from under my arm. Of course! But I went to the appt anyway. He said it is most likely an infection since the lump was tender to the touch and has now disappeared. He looked at my most recent bloodwork which was in May and said there were no red flags for anything more severe. He did decide to send me for a mammogram so I will be going in a couple of weeks for that. He said since I am 38 it is time for me to do a baseline anyway so we can kill two birds with one stone. But he did not think anything at all will show up. He sounded very sure.

Also, I am definitely NOT pregnant. Of course, my TOM showed up last night after going to the appt. Very happy to see it though... and hubby is not allowed to touch me again until the snip snip occurs.

Still struggling a little on my food. I just want bread. All the time. Ugh. The scale was down again today though, so go figure. So I was at 256 this morning - only 1 pound above my lowest weight. I will most definitely take it!

You gals have me all excited about protein shakes! I am a horrible shake maker, so I have no clue where to start. But you make me want to start doing that. Maybe that will help with my food blues.

Also..... the book reading for next month sounds awesome! I actually JUST started reading the Paleo Solution book by Robb Wolf this morning. So that is perfect timing! Thought I needed to read some low-carb books to get me motivated and on the right track again.

I need to get to bed. Sorry I am running off and not doing personals... I feel I am being rude! I have to get up at 8am to go to a consignment sale and I just realized it is almost 1am. Eek! I will be back this weekend to catch up on my personals.

Hope you all have a great weekend! :)

Totals for yesterday, the carb number is high but I had two shakes (the sugary shakes, GNC was closed again and I actually looked at the operating hours THIS time, they close at 6 on weekdays, I'm surprised they're still in business with hours like that.):
64 carbs 182 protein and calories were completely off the chart. If not for those delicious yet sugary shakes the carbs would've been 34. I absolutely LOVE the shakes so I had one for dinner last night and it pretty much "held" me all night but then I got the late munchies and ate a few slices of bacon.

HALFGEEK: glad the lump is gone. I know you are relieved.
TRINA: what a wonderful idea. Might have to get the microwave bacon and pop it in the micro for a late night snack. Never thought of it at late night. I love bacon.
CAROL: my back is better for now. When I go to lifting more than 30lbs, is when it gets me into trouble.

Just a quick post, then will pop in later for the totals.

Scale has moved again! Down 2.6 lbs today from the weight gain back to where I had orginally started. Moved the ticker.

Oh, the goal represented is my first goal. I need to lose more than that, but I have to break it down in small increments or I would be too discouraged. Just me, but small goals seem to work better.

MENU:
Isopure whey protein in hood reg milk w/ three pitted cherries, fiber, ice cubes. Drank iced coffee, ocean spray diet cranberry juice.
Planned:
deli boar's head ham or chicken on tossed green salad w/ lite dressing
atkins shake, few raw veggies

I paid it because I really want to keep the shake but lose the sugar. Meanwhile I ordered some online, a 7.5 lb tub for $85 is a "little" more reasonable.

Totals:

Hi, yall,

Ammy, the pudding sounds good from Walmart. Will have to try it.
I love your idea of preparing work day meals to grab and go.
Trina, I have never experienced any GI distress from Isopure, but each of us is different. I have had it in Hood's calorie countdown milk which has the lactose taken out and has less carbs, in whole cream and in plain water.

Love the 6week cure book from the EAdes.
I am halfway through it.

DH wants to start it with me next week.
We will spend this week eating all the low carb things we won't be eating for the next 4 weeks.
I am determined to do the plan.
I can do anything for six weeks.

Last night, I was busy with GB, (she spent the night) so I didn't get back to posting).

Scale was down 0.6lbs again today. We'll see if it stays.

leftover Antipasta salad w/ house dressing, two hot dogs (Hebrew national), Atkins shake.
Beef bologna on lettuce w/ cheese on LC slice of bread, tea, 1.5cups watermelon(was on sale).
