Jojotan, are you eating vegetables and protein (meat, eggs, cheese) too? Try increasing your fat if it's low. Coconut oil (which is solid, like butter) is usually helpful. You can melt a tablespoonful and add it to your shake in the blender, add it to your coffee or eat it from the spoon. Try to get the cold-pressed kind. Sunflower and pumpkin seeds are also helpful.

Milk is kind of high in sugars. Almond milk, the unsweetened kind, may better serve your to accomplish your goals.

I agree; almond milk makes wonderful shakes!

It could also just be the type of whey protein (http://www.enutriments.com/dymatize-elite-whey-protein) that you're using. Reason I say that is because the same thing was happening to me with the bsn whey, and once I switched to ON's, I was fine, same diet and everything.

What is bsn whey? What is ON? MD

That's a pretty old thread you're replying to, Madea. And I'm replying to your question that's now a week old, but since you didn't get an answer...

I think "bsn whey" is shorthand for the product BSN Syntha-6 (http://www.bsnonline.net/details/syntha6.html) protein powder. "ON" might be Optimum Nutrition (http://www.optimumnutrition.com/products/100-whey-gold-standard-p-201.html)'s protein powder. Just guessing here.

You have to take fiber-rich foods like prunes, Broccoli,Soya Beans and Apricot. They have a lot of fiber. Prune juice, and certain herbs are all natural laxatives. They help you a lot.

Sarah - If you are using the prunes, juice, etc, you might want to check out the carbs. These things pack quite a wallop. If the whole "fiber for constipation" theory actually works for you, you might want to use any of a number of lower carb, higher fiber foods :).

Coconut oil or fresh coconut helps, also a little Magnesium Citrate will have an effect. Dr. Mike doesn't recommend fiber much, if at all. Fruit, especially fruit juices, are very carby, as Shadow mentioned. Also full of fructose.

Definitely check the carb count if you're on a low-carb way of eating so there are no surprises. Green leafy vegetables are always a good choice. Also, the broccoli you mentioned and the rest of the family, like cauliflower, etc.
