Hello everyone!

Well, I was once on this forum quite a bit a few years back now. Since then, I became a UK size 8-10 on PP and then I got pregnant! I now have a 10 month old baby and I am still huge!!! Size 16!! :eek:Gah!! Carbs found me during my pregnancy and then breastfeeding it wasn't recommended to low carb. But now I am ready to chuck those nasty evil carbs in the bin! I did my first day today and not hungry and I have actually eaten much less than I normally would. and I also made an awesome low carb cheesecake for later in the week!

I know the plan almost off by heart even after a couple of years but I am sure I will have questions about bits and bobs I have forgotten! Hope everyone is getting on and losing those pounds! I look forward to chatting with some fellow low carbers again :) natalie X

Hi and welcome back, Fabian! :) Was your baby a girl or a boy? You can get back into shape with us.

Little girl! She is gorgeous. unfortunately I had mega pregnancy and breastfeeding cravings for bread and all carby stuff! the stuff I was eating was actually healthy as far as LF diets are concerned, I was quite careful, but still gained a huge amount of weight, so I now realise that I have to do this for life, and that my body just does not like carbs for fuel!!!

Thanks for the welcome back! I remember you actually, nice to see a face I recognise!

Welcome back to PP!

I sure know what you're talking about... we were a bit anxious about doing strict LC eating while I was pregnant, and then was told not to do LC during breastfeeding either, and I got pretty comfortable in my carbier lifestyle for a few years with all of that, and the weight started to follow.

But I've lost some weight since coming back to PP and you can definitely do it too! It will be great having you on board!

Hi, just wanted to say hello and welcome! I actually lost weight while pregnant, and figured, oh I can just about eat whatever I want. "This", thank goodness you can't see me, is the result!  I'm new to LC but my body is really loving it. Glad you came back!

I lost weight in the first trimester and thought "wahey!! I can eat what I like!! whoop whoop!!" Whoops. Turns out that bump wasn't all baby lol!! It was lard! I am on day 3 now, so I expect to start feeling the changes around about now. This happened last time that within 1 week, I had already lost quite a bit of weight and I started to get more energy. More energy is what I need - I have 4 kids and no time to sleep!

Sorry if I'm a little uninformed, but what reason did the docs give for not going low-carb during BF? Assuming you're not ZC, I'd think plenty of low-glycemic-type veggies with meats & fat would be ok for BFing. But pregnancy is something I'm curious about, not experienced with :)
