Seems like we're not particularly wanting to record daily activity in a separate post, but correct me if I'm wrong.
I would have started it on Sunday, but I think there's already a post for then, so I started in on Monday, instead.
Daily at 0530 or so, I walk the dogs for 1 km. It hardly counts as fitness (my opinion) because it is a necessity.
Monday
- Treadmill @ 4.0 mph for 25 minutes (1.54 miles)
- Recumbent Bike for 18 minutes (3.84 miles)
- Strength Training until my arm/shoulder hurt too much to continue (which is why I switched to the bike)
Tuesday
Not sure if I'll be at the gym today. My arm still hurts (started on the weekend, and hasn't improved). Will add later, if I do.

I haven't been posting for awhile! (bad me!) But I did do 2 days (about 6 hours total) of moving boxes of stuff for an estate sale for my MIL's stuff.
(She did alot of sewing & has enough fabric to reapolster Indiana).
Today I'm sick though, I have a UTI or sinus infection. I probably got it from my mom last weekend, but my husband told me I got it from the boxes since they were sitting in MIL's garage acquiring mold for who knows how long. But I hope to kick it out of my system and be back to jogging hopefully by the weekend! :)

Oops, sorry! :o Those 2 days were Sat & Sun 6/3 & 6/4. As yesterday, today I plan on collapsing after work & a bowl of LC soup!

Cmcole - Hope that arm gets better soon! Great workouts you've had so far this week :D!
Lisa V - It is so very good to see you again ! Sounds like rest is what you need, though :(. Hurry and get well again so I can chase you with the whip !

:D I know what you mean - I don't know how to count walking the dogs for "relief" WRT exercise. I'm not counting the 10-15 mins 3 (or more) times a day - but I am counting the "after relieving" morning or weekend mid-day long walks - up to 45 mins or an hour. It's their exercise and mine (on lead, no sniffing, pretty brisk). If we can also get someplace to go off-lead so they can "run around like crazy dogs" - all the better.
we are all (me and the dogs) looking forward to when I'll be able to run again - the last time I could run (>1 year ago) they were too little (4 months) to have a structured run for very long. I figure about 25 lbs more before my ankle will react OK to running again.
going totally OT - have you seen dog scootering? We're thinking of trying it! here is a picture

Thanks again SWP!
You're right, every cell in my body is saying "REST!"
Especially since it knows what it's on for from the WP when I'm better! ;)

Um, it's been 10 days since I've been to this board at all. I'm so sorry!
I'm not even going to try to catch up, I'm just going to jump in. I've been really good about walking, and really bad about posting. So ....
15 minutes down the hill this morning.

Miralin - It's wonderful to have you back!!! I'd wondered where you were and how the ankle was doing! So please do jump right back in - we're happy to see you again :D!
Lisa V - Oh yeah... get ready... 'cause soon the whip will be a snappin' at your heels  !

I'm still sick & feeling quite crummy today, but it feels good to post this at least.
I'm gonna use tonight to do exercise "houskeeping"- like entering my workout logs into the computer & schedule a treadmill checkup with Sears. They give you 1 "checkup" per year where they clean, lube & replace anything getting worn (even if there's no problems). Boring stuff but I keep putting it off.
Then I'll look forward to getting it dirty again! :D

Great plan, Lisa V ! This way you can get right back to it when you're feeling better :D!

OK - that dog scootering is just too neat!! We keep threatening to hook up our girl dog to a sled in the winter - she's part Northern (Malamute) and part Timber Wolf/Belgian Shepherd, so she has the sturdiness, stamina and pulling power.
Last night we walked the dogs, somewhat briskly, but that is always - they go rather quickly regardless of time of day. We only went for about 2 km, though.
My arm is still bothering me. Bought some homeopathic (Arnica) meds, but they haven't had any impact yet. Don't know how long it will take - perhaps it will take a visit to the chiropractor, as well.

cmcole - Do you know what you did to your arm? Was it a certain move or is it hurting in a certain area? Regardless of what you've done, I'm glad you're tending to it and not just "working through it" ;). Happy healing - hopefully you'll be back to "normal" soon!

I miss walking with Sherry, but I'll post here as often as I can.
Tuesday: Gallileo machine 5 minutes. I felt like I'd taken a 50-mile bike ride!
Wednesday: 20 minutes of hallwalking
Thursday: Gallileo machine 5 minutes. I meant to add that it's part of my foot therapy, but it also strengthen muscles like crazy! The technician said that sports teams all use it. Four or five minutes works your muscles like a 45-minute workout, supposedly.

Oh, Honey! I'm still walking! :D Just posting elsewhere...
HOWEVER, if it keeps you MOTIVATED, I will certainly do the other posting too... What say ye? :)
Sunday: 3 miles, in 53 minutes

OK, last night I made myself go outside and water my plants & new bulbs. I figured some moving around would do me good.
Instead of using the hose, and I diid it the harder way by filling the 2 gallon watering can numerous times & walking back & forth with it. (I have a big yard & lots stuff to water!) Normally this wouldn't make me bat an eyelash, but I felt so weak & dazed that it was a challenge!

Well, all I can think of regarding my arm is that I lifted a 10 litre (weight: 10 kg = 22 lbs) bottle of water and carried it a little way.
Anyway, I spoke to the physiotherapist yesterday (he is attached to the gym where we go) and he said it could take a week or so (especially since I worked out on the weekend before it started hurting so much). Flare-ups are to be expected with this problem.
The Arnica still hasn't made any impact. Perhaps it's more nerve related rather than muscle related at this point.
Yesterday -
25 minutes @ 4.0 mph on Treadmill
A few lower body strength exercises to follow
No upper body exercises, as the physiotherapist suggested that wasn't wise (not that I would have argued the point).

Yeah, a little. Thanks for asking. At least I can talk better today.
I'm going to say I'll be back working out at least this Sat & Sun. It seems like I heal faster with the adequate levels of protein (or is it knowing SWP is out there with the whip! ;))

Sherry, I think with that jump-start that Stevie gave us, I'll be just fine here. It was fun, though. Too bad we didn't get more takers!
Thanks, Sweetie!;)

I BIKED 8 miles in an hour today... how many miles in an hour would that equate to WALKING???

Sherry, I think it would depend on your pace. I generally judge by how long I'm out and the "perceived" intensity of the workout. Maybe you could see how tired you are compared to how tired you get walking. I'm not very scientific, am I? ;)
LisaS

go to one of those online calorie calc's and compare the calories for biking at 8 mph to walking at 3 mph (or however far you get in an hour)
once you know the calorie difference you can calculate the equiv walking distance (at your speed) for same number of calories burned.

Well, I would love to take the credit, but something tells me the protein does you just as much good as the whip !

Yes, they do say time heals all wounds - and that is true of injuries too :). The problem is being "good" and giving ourselves healing time ;).
No upper body exercises, as the physiotherapist suggested that wasn't wise (not that I would have argued the point).
Good plan! No sense exacerbating something that already hurts. Having been there and done that many times, I can say it's not the smart thing to do !

LOL, I think I'll take Carol's advice over Lisa's, ESPECIALLY since I "don't do math", and since I'm too lazy to do that right now! :p
I SURELY feel more worn out than my walking, and the pace was fast and maintained 95% of the time...

Thursday -
Didn't get to the gym but we ran/briskly walked with the dogs for 6 km (43 minutes).
Then, I went to the chiropractor. I felt like I should have done more exercising, but I'm trying to be good to myself.
Friday - for about three seconds, when I first woke up, I was pain-free. Didn't last long, but was nice for a moment. :)

Hi all,
I'm feeling sort of better today...a little less like a groaning zombie!
Still, I'm planning on working out after work to get the energy spurt going since I have a long weekend ahead filled with the joys of box moving, organizing, sorting, etc all for this massive yard sale next weekend.
Maybe working out will help the virus get out of my system faster, too?!
hey SWP- I posted 3 days in a row! :D

Sherry, I spotted your "Wanna Go" thread already. I posted my next week's goal today. Kinda early, but I'm booked for the weekend starting today. Last day for teachers and students today and my brain is racing MUCH faster than my body could move.
I'll be getting exercise this weekend, but it will be hard to measure. DH and I are re-enactors and will be on duty at a local event. My footgear won't have arch supports, although the site is grassy and soft. The good news is that it won't be so deadly hot as it usually gets. Highs in the upper sixties and low seventies and no rain in the forecast. Nirvana!

Lisa V - These last three days of your posting has made me very happy :D! FWIW, I've been known to "work" a bug out of my system too ;). But should it be more than you can take on, please go back to resting :).
cmcole - Hopefully every day the "pain free" time will be a few seconds longer than the day before :).

Sorry if some of this is duplicated:
All of it is a mixture of running and walking (very briskly)
Thursday - 6 km with dogs - 43 minutes (I think).
Friday - 6.3 km with dogs (new route, and we thought it would be longer) - 45 minutes
Saturday - 9 km with dogs = 1 hour, 9 minutes. Poor Titan (the older dog) - I was nearly pulling him along the last half - made it tough on me, too.

Thursday: 9 laps, forgot how long.
Saturday: 12 swim laps, 26 minutes.
I'd gone a couple of other days this week and ended up just sitting in the hot tub for a while because the pool was so freezing I couldn't stand it. <grumble grumble> Oh, also the usual waitressing Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

Hi all,
I worked out Sat 6/10 & Sun 6/11, but only 20 mn cardio instead of 30 and even though I got wiped out pretty quick, I still felt better afterwards.
Yesterday I was running around crazy trying to set up this huge yard sale, do laundry, clean, etc all after work so there went the resting I needed to do.
Oh well, tonight I'll make up for it after another 20mn & some stretching. The cardio is at least helping all that chest congestion to move around! :)
