One of the Eades' books inidcate flax is a good oil. The other spends several pages explaining why flax oil is not good as it effects eicosanoids adversely. I threw the flax away and then went to retrieve it. What to do? MD

I don't use flax as I don't like the amount of omega 6 it contains. I've been using borage oil instead (and also cod liver oil and krill oil).

I like flax, but greatly prefer grinding it and using it in food rather than simply using flax oil itself. Extra protein is always nice, the soluble fiber is good for your intestinal flora, and the high lignan content appear to have many healthful properties (and appears to be the active component against prostate and breast cancer).

The omega-3 to omega-6 ratio is good--unless you consume a lot of omega-6 from other sources in your diet (which you shouldn't).
