I am having a hard time eating all my food. I do journal and plan ahead. That way I can monitor my diabetic DHs diet as well as mine. I feel like I am forcing myself to eat all. Since I need a certain amount of protein is it best to eat that first. Now in the next 2 weeks I will visiting family and I will not be planning my meals ahead like I do now. I think the best way to handle that would be to concentrate on eating my protein first. I will keep a running total of what I eat on my iPad. I can't believe how hard it is for me to eat all this food. And I only have to eat 20 gms. Protein at each meal. It is so satisfying.

Yep, definitely eat your protein first.
How is your fat intake? What kinds of protein are you eating? Red meat? White meat? fish? etc?

I notice that I can eat a lot more protein (NEED to eat a lot more) if the fat content is low, but if it is a high fat protein, I too struggle getting it all in (although I DO cause I'm a compulsive eater :o)

It was very hard for me at first to eat as much as I was supposed to. I felt stuffed and was kind of worried how I was going to lose weight eating that much lol. But the weight is coming off and it is easier now to get my protein requirement met. When I am really not hungry, I opt for some turkey slices and cottage cheese just to get the protein. I find that meal doesn't make me feel too full when I'm not particularly hungry. I also make sure I eat my protein first. I plan my meal around that.

Heavy whipping cream plus whey powder plus cocoa powder plus stevia, whipped up with an eggbeater...that's where I go when I want to toss on a bunch of protein and calories in a concentrated fashion. Decent substitute for chocolate mousse.

Pretty low carb, but don't forget to count the 0.4 carbs per tablespoon in the cream (6.6 carbs per cup); they can add up.
