I'm new to the forum but my husband and I are in week five of the 6WC. I haven't weighed myself in a few days, but at last weigh in I had lost about 8 lbs., and my husband has lost close to 12! I am loving the results, as I still have ways to go but I feel 10 years younger!

I did Atkins ten years ago and had success with it, but experienced some dramatic "weight creep" mainly over the past year (thanks, menopause!). The weight was all in my midsection so my focus is much more on waist size than weight reduction. I've lost 3" in my waist so far, and have 4" to go. (Not sure if a 26" waist is achieveable, but I'm going to try ...)

At this point, I think I'm pretty much committed to keep grain free forever. I love the PP focus on the healthful and organic, and the elimination of the Frankenfoods. (One area where I might diverge in the future is on drinking milk, in moderation -- I participate in a cowshare and have access to raw milk.)

One other thing I'll add is that although I have read so much criticism about the Eades including the recipes in 6WC, I've been enjoying the recipes very, very much -- and I am an experienced, proficient cook and self-proclaimed "foodie". :)

The Eades don't have anything against dairy per se, even though they cut it out in some of the weeks of the 6WC. The only problem is the sugar content. If I had access to raw milk, I'd be making mozzarella at home. (As it is, I make a lot of yogurt--and strain out a lot of the whey.)

Congrats on your progress!

Another great story, welcome CJ! ;)

I agree with Bear on the milk (he says finishing his morning cappuccino ;)) but I wouldn't make mozzarella (I'm doing a camembert course in July, after which I'd love to make cheddar, parmesan ... and if you could post me some of that raw milk ... :p
