Some favorite expressions of small children: “It’s not my fault. . . They made me do it. . . I forgot.” Some favorite expressions of adults: “It’s not my job. . . No one told me. . . It couldn’t be helped.” True freedom begins and ends with personal accountability.
Dan Zadra

What expressions do we have? “I’ll only have one bite…But I haven’t tasted this for a long time!…I’m too tired (upset, happy, late, etc.) to worry about food right now.”

What’s up with you this weekend? :) I’m visiting friends in Kalamazoo today to play some music, so I won’t be around until evening.

Have a great time, Carol! We're meeting with a refinance broker tomorrow because we're planning to add on a first floor bed/bath/laundry. The whole thing is a little scary, but we feel it's necessary if we want to stay in our home indefinitely.

Food was off today. I was out all day with a friend and we indulged a bit. My plan tomorrow is to go shopping and restock my fridge with good food.

We are in Vancouver for the weekend. Had a heck of a time getting here, a pretty bad storm has hit so most of the ferries were cancelled! :peeved: I'm just glad we made it over, even if it did take 3 hours longer than usual. (8 hours total) We need to be here tomorrow morning by 7 am so there was no way we could be here on time if no ferries had come over today.

I brought some food with me, hb eggs, smokies, cheese etc, but the hotel has no rooms with fridges and microwaves. I can keep it cold by adding ice to my mini cooler, but eating it cold will be gross. Well not the cheese of course. I suppose I could try to find a 7-11 with a microwave.

We had sashimi for dinner (quite late) tonight. I don't know my numbers for today but the carbs should be fine, I ate almost all meat all day.

I hate typing on this tiny notebook keyboard so I will probably wait till I get home Sun. to pop in again.

Good morning everybody!

Morning Carol good quote. You know it doesn't matter what the circumstance. We'll always come up with some lame excuse to explain our shortcomings.
Enjoy your day of music. It sounds like a lot of fun.

Stretching, warm-ups and the miracle seven isometric exercises before breakfast.

Michelle and Levi are now home. It turned out I didn't need to pick her up. Her beau was able to do it. Needless to say when they arrived home, Doy and I were there to greet them. After a couple hours of getting to know our new grandson we returned home to finish preparations for Sunday. Doy and I have decided to spend Easter Sunday home this year. It'll just be the two of us. I did about an hour on the quitar. When I don't get some guitar time in, I feel like there's something missing from my day.

Doy and I will be doing a little last minute holiday shopping. After that, we will prep food for tomorrow so all we have to do is bake the ham, put the faux potato salad together. We're doing a little less traditional Easter meal this year. Easy with less cooking.

Today's menu:

breakfast- 3 eggs, 4ozs sirloin pork cutlet, 60gms canned peaches w/splenda, 2c green tea
46gms protein, 8gms carbs

Lunch- Whopper in a Bowl, 2c green tea
56ozs protein, 3gms carbs

Supper- 8ozs chicken, 5 steamed brussel sprouts, lettuce and tomato salad w/evoo & tarragon vinegar, 2c green tea
56gms protein, 8.5gms carbs

Have a wonderful good weekend!

We are going over to a dgd's house for Easter. I plan to take broccoli salad, lc cheese cake , strawberries and a regular banana pudding. There are a few of us doing lc and the rest eat the SAD so I'll please all of them with something. All of the family likes the broccoli salad so I'll have to make a bunch of that !

It is supposed to be very nice tomorrow so that is great. I hate it when the kids don't get to do the Easter Egg hunt outside. (We have so many) Anyway today looks great too. Maybe we will get in a little ride later on today.

Good Morning!

Carol, the first thing that came to mind when I read your quote was "the adults need to grow up". I saw the child in the adult with just a could of word changes.

Anyway, Happy holiday to you all and safe travels! We're staying home to try to limit the resurection of the new spring weeds! My natural areas of the yard have gone wild more than natural. Nest weekend, though, we will be going to MD to visit famiy. I'm thinking of what I can take over the weekend to stay on plan.

Last night we were at an amature radio (ham) trade show. Lost of carbs on the buffet (home made:) ) I brought my own dinner of turkey breast and cauliflower salad (minus the egg). I behaved myself!!

Today I might do kitchen time and try some new recipes...after yesterday, I need to keep the tasting to a minimum!

Have a great one! I'll be back later tonight with accountability, but will monitor most of today.

Good Evening!

Today was good. I spent most of it in the kitchen or the grocery store getting ingredients. I made salsa bites yesterday. Today was pancakes and granola. Tomorrow will be coffee cake and PB protein balls. Breakfast is difficult for me because I don't eat eggs in any of the traditional ways. I am getting really tired of shakes and need more selecions for my menu. I also made the red slaw from the Let's Cook side dish thread.

Today's ECC was 30.4 and protein was 124.
B: 4 salsa bites, 3 coffee
L: 1c chicken salad, 1/2 avocado
S: 3 pancakes (taste testing)
D: 8oz. filet mignon, house salad w blue cheese dressing (Tripp's for dinner out)
S: 6 squares dark chocolate bar

Also I've lost 3 lbs. this week. :)

Have a great night!

Happy Easter everybody!

Stretching, warm-ups and the miracle seven isometric exercises before breakfast.

This year it'll be just Doy and I celebrating Easter together. It'll be a nice quiet time. We rented two great movies that are appropriate for this holiday season: 'The Greatest Story Ever Told' and 'The Gospel of John'.

On Doy's little shopping venture yesterday she purchased some spring clothes for grandchildren. One item she just couldn't resist buying. A little shirt for Levi with letters across the front saying 'grandpap's little sidekick'. Michelle just loved it.

Today's menu:

Breakfast- vanilla/cinnamon protein shake, 70gms raspberries, 2c green tea
51gms protein, 8.2gms carbs

Lunch & Supper ham baked on the grill, brussel sprouts baked on the grill and basted with the ham drippings, faux tater salad, pickled eggs & beets, 2c green tea
56gms protein, 9.3gms carbs

Have a blessed Easter Sunday!

UGH!! I just typed a LONG post and when I hit submit it said I wasn't logged in...but I was.
ARGH!!

I am out of town for the Easter weekend with GF's family.
Instead of putting my food into fitday (time is tight, specially since everything was just lost) I'll type it here. I am probably a bit high, but feel really good and strong about my choices so far!

Saturday:
8am Heartland omelet at perkins, broccoli instead of hash browns, 1slice of buttered toast
11am meat from a McDouble (no ketchup)
1pm burger on 5ecc slice of bread, 9 soy crisps (about 6ecc)
cut up and moved 12in diameter birch tree that feel at the bottom of a long steep hill, moved it UP the long steep hill to the driveway
6:30pm roasted turkey, about 1 cup fresh steamed green beans, 1 champagne flute of white zin (YUCK!)
I avoided the chocolates around the house, the cheesy hashbrown potatoes, the cresant rolls (I was told to make :jawDrop:) and the beautiful, large, incredibly yummy looking sandwich rolls she had sitting out and kept telling us how good they are and how we need to try them.

Sunday
8am smaller burger (no bread), thick slice of tomato, 2hb eggs that have been deviled (so 4 deviled eggs)
I'll have a couple more deviled eggs before we go since I don't think we'll eat until 1 or 2.
I will avoid desserts, breads, potatoes, and the yams swimming in syrup and sugar. I will focus on meat and veggies. I have been told a cousin made the broccoli salad I RAVED over last time. I think it's made with sweet and condensed milk, so I will try to take the broccoli off the top and not dip into the juice at the bottom...but MAN O MAN is it good and she is making for me :jawDrop:.

They are not drinkers, so I don't have to worry about carbs from wine.
However, they ARE having a dessert PARADE after the meal. I might have to excuse myself to go to the restroom...or maybe I'll be able to see it as a parade, not food. We'll see.
But none for me.

Hi, ya'll,
Yesterday, son and DIL were so tired after driving 14+ hours, so DH and I had 8 month old Grandaughter watch last night! No time to post.

Saturday's total: carbs 47 pro 66.

Easter dinner at my home today. I bought a sugar free lemon merinque pie for my FIL(who is a diabetic), 14c/slice, I am going to have a piece, will fit it into my ECC for the day.

Will post those totals later as well as my menu for the day.

:D Scale is down 3 lbs! I am waiting to see if it is real before moving the ticker.

Have a Happy Easter, all.

Just got back from our Easter party. Had a great time and even played volley ball with the grown grandkids for about 3o min. That was about all I could take. Sure was fun and got lots of exercise.

Food choices I made were ham, turkey, cucumbers, broccoli salad, and lc cheese cake and strawberries. I haven't put that in fitday yet. I should have done that before coming here.

Carol, the first thing that came to mind when I read your quote was "the adults need to grow up". I saw the child in the adult with just a could of word changes.I agree, Bobbie. Sometimes a kid just doesn't grow up. My job is to make sure I'm not that kid. :D

UGH!! I just typed a LONG post and when I hit submit it said I wasn't logged in...but I was.
ARGH!!I feel your pain. Why does it usually occur when I've made a long, thoughtful post. Go figure!

...but feel really good and strong about my choices so far!Amy, you're doing great. How did the broccoli situation go?

Easter dinner at my home today. I bought a sugar free lemon merinque pie for my FIL(who is a diabetic), 14c/slice, I am going to have a piece, will fit it into my ECC for the day.
Sounds good, Claudette. It's nice to know we can have anything we want by tailoring it to our daily totals.

First meat weeks day today. Had my last shake this morning. Isn't it wonderful to have something to chew on? Nice avatar! It's good to "see" you, Eleanor!

Arghhhhh. I just did my count on Fitday and don't like it a bit. 2246 calories 114 protein and 56 ecc. I didn't do bad at the Easter dinner but I did have grapefruit at breakfast and some apple at lunch and peanut butter and stuff like that that adds up when you aren't looking. Grrr. Not an outright disaster, but I will do better tomorrow.

Several meals out this weekend so I'm really not sure what my totals would be but I think I did fairly well all things considered. We went to a Brazilian Churrascaria restaurant (all you can eat meat basically) last night and the carbs were kept fairly low but I definitely overate. Lamb, beef, buffalo, ostrich, chicken, pork.... Yummm :D

I did use some of the food I took with me for breakfast and lunch yesterday. I kept it cold by putting ice in my mini cooler and was able to warm it up a little by putting my eggs and smokie in a ziplock bag into a sink full of hot water for about 10 minutes. It wasn't exactly hot, but not cold either.

Anyway back to better portion and carb control tomorrow.
