Are you one of those old dogs who can learn new things? Or are you one of those kind of dogs, mostly called humans :) , who think that they know it all?
The June Challenge will be posted later today and it is all about learning. A challenge to learn about why we are actually doing this program, why it is healthy, what is the impact on our bodies if we do and if we do not. This challenge is not about counting carbs but learning why it is necessary to do that.
We do hope that you will join us in the challenge. It should be posted later today.
In the meantime, think about yourself as a learner? Do you just do this program because it works or are you interested in way it does? We really thinking some education will help you not only keep committed to the program but also give you the tools to do it as a healthy lifestyle.
See you in the challenge!

Billie - I am looking forward to the challenge!!! After several years, I find myself doing things by rote - and this sounds like just the thing to give me back the "zest" I had when I first started :D!!! My motor is revved and I'm ready to burn rubber on it !

I'm never going to get old. I think the day is not complete unless I've learned something! I'm excited about this new challenge, Billie.
Hey, what's that funny smell? Burning rubber? :p

Oh fuuuuuunnny Carol!!! I always wish I knew then what I know now...but the beauty of that I guess is that there is still time to change!

Absolutely! In fact, I'm working on getting younger. I really don't want to be taken for a staid middle-aged matron when I've got the soul of an ageless, active artist. I'm not trying to be a kid again, but I do pay attention to older women who seem to have the image I would like. Oddly enough, none of them are overweight! I've got my work cut out for me.

Well, since PP is absolutely new to me (and I have yet to get a book), I'm open to learning.

Carol I love it!
The book is marvelous. Please pick one up. The science of the PP way of eating will really rev you up. Nice to meet you.

That's one of the things I enjoy most about this board - learning about the science behind being healthy. In fact, my parents are often amazed that I know so much about my various medical conditions, and I often read up on things before and after I go to the doctor, so I can make knowledgeable decisions. I fully believe that we shouldn't be just letting the doctors make decisions for us without being fully informed. It's hard to get that information from the doctors, though, because they are so busy, so I count on the various health and research websites to find things out.
I think learning about the science behind how our bodies work is just fascinating. I think if I was just a bit less squeamish and a bit better with people, I might have become a doctor instead of a compuer programmer!

I've always said that middle age starts about 85... and, that age is an ATTITUDE, which I've got plenty of... I'll NEVER be old! :p

You said it, GF :D!
Carol - That "burning rubber" smell is not just my mind working, but also these M&S feet going to town !

Me too. If I know WHY I'm doing something, I'm more likely to do it well.

I was going to let this go but I had complained so much about my relocation/transfer and how it was done that I just have to throw this in.
I was not looking forward to this change since it is too far to bike, I'll be working entirely on my own, and I wouldn't know a single client.
Two days into the new, dreaded job I have only met a few of the clients, but am on the Institute baseball team (3 pitch), part of the lunchtime volleyball crew, and I was asked to join the soccer club, which I passed on. As well there is ball hockey twice a week that I will look into that. My work space definitely needs a lot of work but I have three whole rooms, one with a sound system and and I brought my weights and heavy bands to work out on my own during slack times, especially winter.
I wish I'd been more lenient with those giving me the assignment but it could definitely been handled better. This conservative "old dog" didn't want it at first but am glad that there are still new tricks left.
