There are risks and costs to a program of action. But they are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction.

-John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Doing nothing is probably our greatest risk. Being afraid to make changes sometimes, at least for me, momentarily paralyzes me. It doesn't take long to think through it and then I am back in motion. And the costs of status quo, or doing nothing is so great so many times.

There's another quote I can't recall the exact words or the author, but it says something to the effect that doing nothing, in fact you are making a choice. If we don't bother to change our habits or the way we think or the way we do things, than we are making a plan, to keep things the way they are. Motivating ourselves into good planning and action is not easy, but staying in the same old same old pattern is far harder.

The school year is almost over for many, vacations are starting, so lets make a program of action plan for ourselves, whatever your needs are. Individualize them, make a goal that by the end of summer I will have achieved whatever you wish and then make some action steps to get there. We just can't wish it to happen and it will.

The June Challenge is being prepared and is going to be very different from anything we have done in the past. It is going to be based on knowledge and reading and discussion, so I hope you will all look in on it and participate. We want to continue to give you the foundations of why we are doing this program, better understanding how your body works well hopefully assist you on the days when you are reaching for something (donut comes to mind!:p ) and hopefully will give you the reasons to stop the reach.

Have a great day, for many of us back to work after a long holiday weekend, Ahhh Monday on Tuesday!

Doing nothing is easy. Doing something the way you "think you know" it should be done is also easy. Opening a book and getting a full understanding of a low carb plan and actually following it is not easy for some reason. And yet, if you do nothing, it could kill you. I'd rather read the book, follow the plan and change the way I eat than be dead!!!

The risk is that you have to believe in yourself. You have to believe you can do it. Can you believe ?
