"Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely."
*Karen Kaiser Clark
This quote is short but full of meaning. We do know that life is always changing, many things in our control and many things are waaaay beyond our control. We can choose to use good experiences, or we can learn from bad experiences but the choices that we make are always ours. Growth is optional and what an added benefit!
No long burning quotes over the holiday weekend, just some thoughts to keep you thinking!
Have a great one!

Oh, I think that's a pretty 'burning' quote, even if it is short, Billie. ;)
After three days of feeling not-at-all perky, yesterday was a great day--a change AND growth day that is continuing into today and hopefully tomorrow. Went to the farmer's market, got fresh organic farmer's cheese and almost bought some organic rabbit (but I'd forgotten my cooler...=sigh=...next week!) Then, because I didn't find what I wanted in plantings at the market, I visited a couple of garden centers and nurseries to pick up topsoil for the new bed on the back patio--and found another clematis, some more herbs, a jalapeno pepper...and the inspiration for my back patio garden. I saw a Rose of Sharon shrubs and realized that with some columnar arborvitae or maybe a couple dwarf alberta spruce, I could get shade AND screening to replace the tree the homeowner's association cut down last year. All of them have easily controllable size, and they're pretty and relatively inexpensive. Woo-hoo...can't believe I didn't think of Rose of Sharon before, but sometimes I really need to see the plant to be inspired. This morning, walking Casey, I noticed poppies coming into their own in a neighbor's bed...and realized that a poppy would be perfect for a hole I have in my own back border. So I guess I'll be back in the garden center today, too, so that I can get all my ideas in motion on these bright and sunny and good days.
The most amusing gardens are like your quote...changing, growing, and always inspiring. Good weekends, everyone!

Good one, Billie. If I don't work on growing, I deteriorate. There's no such thing as status quo for me. Something inside of me says "Hey, she's not paying attention! What old habit can we pick up again?" :p

Somewhere I read/heard that you cannot stand still - you either have to be moving forward or backward. I'd rather be moving forward, even if it is slow
