"Human beings are the only creatures on earth that allow their children to come back home."

-Bill Cosby

Since for many on the board it is a holiday weekend, starting it off with a little humor may be just what the doctor ordered. For many of us this weekend we will have more than normal family and friends around more than normal ways to go off program most certainly! We have a light schedule this weekend but yet it is plagued with carb pits everywhere. I really was looking for a quote on planning but I couldn't find one that really fit what I wanted to think about today, so I thought humor would work.

How about you, what are your weekend plans to stay on program--we know there are plenty of ways not to, but what are you going to do to make it a great weekend for yourself?

Grilling--nothing like a burger or hot dog or chicken breast or 'bobs or steak on the grill, throw on some veggies as well.

Keep lots of water cold and ready to grab, have some lemon or lime slices handy to throw in for some refreshment
Need some crunch? How about some veggies or fruit that are low in carb handy, some cheese wedges cut, or easier yet some string cheese

Want to get alot done around the house, well work hard and on Monday evening have the feeling of great accomplishment

Human children invading your space, certainly mine are, but remember their bodies are precious too, so don't indulge in things for Johnnie or Suzie because they are their "favorite" meal or treat. If they are adult children, treat them that way and nourish their bodies healthy as well as yours.

Most importantly enjoy your long weekend, every second of it, smell the flowers, visit friends, take time for YOU!

Have a blast!

We had our long weekend last weekend, and didn't accomplish nearly anything we had planned. This was partly due to the weather and partly because we spent so much time running with the dogs.

Ah you Canadians are always ahead of us! But you know CMCOLE running with the dogs is just fun too! The work will always be there!

Thanks for the nudge to plan, Billie. I was going to wing it again. I've got plenty of protein around but I'm low on (out of) fresh veggies. I think it's going to be a homebound weekend, but one of the neighbors is just likely to have a cookout at the last minute.

Working hard is what I plan to do. DH has a way of sidetracking me, though! Have a wonderful weekend!
