If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

This isn’t a contest, it’s daily life. If you can forget about keeping score, you’ll get a big surprise every once in a while. Think about the stress you’ll avoid!

What changes have you made so far?

Breakfast will be sausage patties. Lunch will be deli beef and a small apple. Dinner will be something from the freezer.

Morning Carol...my plan today is to eat if I'm hungry :D
As a compulsive eater, that felt good to say!!!
I haven't been hungry or eating since I got sick on Sunday , so I hope that today things turn around and I start getting back to SOME of the old me...
I'm going to avoid the percocet today, and I know that could have been suppressing my appetite, so we'll see how things progress...

Thank you for this today! I needed it! I managed to stay off the scale this morning-and plan to until next week. I will strive for once a week weigh-ins. This is a much needed step in breaking my life-long destructive relationship with my scale! :)

Today is a busy one, and actually I have several busy days coming up. I am headed out of town tomorrow for the funeral of the mother of one of my very best friends. Between being out of town, traveling, and the emotions with the funeral, I think I have my hands full for the weekend. I will make good choices.

Today:
B: protein shake, 3 slices of bacon, coffee with half and half.
L: noodleless lasagne, apple.
D: not sure, will need to make something, but am shooting for no leftovers since I will be gone all weekend. May have to run by the store to pick up something.

A happy day to all!:)

Amy, here's hoping your road to recovery is a smooth one!

Got on the scale today and realized that I have lost 5 pounds in a week and a half since I got sick and that included the trip to Las Vegas. I sure hope I don't have to get sick to keep losing...:lol:

Think I'll just keep to the protein shakes for breakfast and dinner with some steak and vegies for lunch.

Carol, if I'm honest (and isn't that the point;)) the most important change I've made is to NOT change. Instead of getting excited about that 5 pound loss and having a treat or getting depressed by a pound or two gain, I stay the course - I don't change. This kind of total commitment is a first for me and because of it, I know I'm going to get there. Don't know how long it'll take, but I'm going to get there.

Well, gotta feed my puppy...

Breakfast, Lunch & Snack = Power-up Shake
Dinner = Stuffed chicken with cheese, and asparagus drizzled in olive oil oil

My achievement is that I'm finally off caffeine & it's possible says the scale that I've lost 3 pounds in the last week!!

I'm pretty tired and short fused this morning, but I am hoping after a shower and some chores, I'll feel better.

Get up & get going is my moto for the day!

Then it makes me crazy.

Okay, Kathee, you've got the idea. I think it's like choosing sanity over drama. The drama keeps you from focusing on the rest of your life.

I think that's exactly it, Carol. I really like the sanity.

I've changed my attitude about setting goals. I'm concentrating on short term goals and letting the long term goals fall as they may. Bill, I think it makes life more interesting to do short-term, measurable goals. Pay attention to the details and the big stuff takes care of itself.

I had a really good workout tonight. This month I changed up to lighter weights and faster, multiple sets. The theory is that it will confuse my body into dropping some pounds. Time will tell.

Goal: Meditate
B: Sausage/eggs w/ cheese
L: 2 brats with mayo/BBQ
D: Atkins shake & carbmaster yogurt

Dinner was rough. I fed the kiddo and the PB was tempting but I stuck with my plan.

This morning was up less than a pound so that helped me focus. We'll see how tomorrow and the weekend go.

I think my knee is finally all better. The other day I skipped 1 of my ibuprofen and it killed me. I went back on two 800mg ibuprofen a day but for the last several days I've been going w/o any and feeling good.

Will meditate pre-bed.

I had a good friend in the service who was into body building. He did something like this to shock his system into adding muscle. I don't see why the same principle couldn't be used to lose fat. Sounds like a plan.
