Has anyone noticed a difference in PMS symptoms - especially food cravings and reduces anxiety/irritibility? I'm finding that LC seems to be helping - do the protein foods perhaps contain higher levels of B vitamins than carbs??

My wife says I no longer have "Pouty Male Syndrome", but I think you mean something different!
Protein Power Life Plan does mention that magnesium deficiency can aggravate PMS in chapter 9 (page 206 in my copy). You are getting a bit more magnesium through green leafy veggies, some nuts and seeds, cheese milk and other diary products. Drs. Eades mention that the typical low fat diet would elminate many of these foods because of their fat content, but on a LC diet you tend to eat more of them due to low carb content.
So there might be a magnesium connection. You can try supplementing magnesium as well, but choose one of the "chelated" kinds rather than magnesium oxide (magnesium citrate, malate or aspartate), and check with your doctor first if you have any liver or heart conditions.
Or eat more green leafy stuff and almonds.
