The cat is away...? Oh my, and I've already done my Sunday workout. What a shame:eek::D!!
Sunday - 15 min upper body + 10 min solution stretch (w/ band)

I felt the need to do my upper body today, however, it is the beginning of 4-5 weeks of 'Bun Blast' programme (the idea comes from Leisa Hart's My Personal Trainer dvd - oddly enough, the only dvd from my collection I've never stuck to) which is:
Sun - cardio, abs
Mon - cardio, buns & thighs, pilates
Tue - upper body, abs, stretch
Wed - cardio, buns & thighs
Thu - pilates, stretch
Fri - cardio, buns & thighs
Sat - rest

quiet weekend crowd...probably planning that big moving and shaking party, that some of us are always missing. Where is it this time? Sunny FL is a little less sunny right now, but just as hot and humid. I haven't quite worked that out yet, how it can feel so hot and be overcast. Buddy and I'll do the Karole route, tonight.:slywink:

Martha - Trust me, *I'm* not partying without you ! As for hot & overcast - that's because the clouds are trapping the heat and it has nowhere to go :). Heat rises but if it can't go up, it must stay down ;). Hope you and Buddy got that "Karole route" done!

Say, Martha thanks to you and Buddy for naming a route after me. How long is it, are there any hills? Does my route have any nice trees for the Buddy?? I sure hope so !!

I did 25 min. today 20 walking and 5 with weights. Not a whole lot but for some reason today was not a good day for me exercise wise. One of those days when you have to just plod on through as each step feels like you're walking in glue or something. I hate days like this.

Upper body tonight with about five cautious minutes on the arc trainer set at zero elevation. The owner told me to stay off the leg extension machine because it's not good for knees. He thought it was irritated joints I experienced rather than muscles. Hard to say. They're better, but not pain-free yet.

Boy do I know that feeling....
As embarrassing as this is, I don't know how far it is exactly. We were doing 40 min, so we try to do 80, when we are doing your route, (cause we were doing one for you :) Anyway, we have stayed with it well, but it is FL, So, no hills, sorry, we have gills, (high humidity and all) ok it was a lot funnier in my head. Lots of trees, several cul de sacs, but mostly just old FL neighborhoods.

I haven't done any formal exercise for the last few days, but with two seven year olds in the house (and their parents), there hasn't been much sitting down either. I had to dig out the sacroiliac belt because of all the standing (mainly from doing lots of cooking), but my back seems fine today, so I'm hoping it didn't do any real damage. I'll be starting up the yoga again today.

Hello everybody, I had pretty busy day yesterday and forgot to report. It was busy in a good way, we met friends after lunch and walked by the sea for a couple of hours by the sea. Well, it was not a sportive walk (and definitely no weights - bravo Karole!) but it felt so relaxing and so good on this cloudy day. I did my programme in the morning and so I did it today:
Mon - cardio (Tae Bo), buns & thighs (10 min solution), pilates (Beginners Pilates)
Tue - upper body , abs (both from 10 min solution target toning dvd), stretch (with band, 10 min solution Trouble Zones)
See you tomorrow!

Sounds like everyone but me is sticking to their workouts. Good for you guys. :D I will get out on the bike soon, really, I will... House is on the market as of last week but there were still a couple little things to finish up so that killed off the weekend. Well that and too much drinking and eating with my best friend from Texas who arrived Sat. Now I'm getting ready for my patio party this coming Sat. with anywhere from 60 to 100 people coming:eek: I will ride tomorrow night for sure with my group and try to get out Sun. afternoon maybe, depends on how well I behave Sat. and what level of hangover I have  After the party there are only three weeks before my charity ride so I really will have to get off my butt!

How 'bout condensing atmosphere/intermittent rain, thunder, lightning:cool: kinda like swimming without the sensation of the water supporting your joints. It's been raining here, lost power briefly, sounds like chamber of commerce weather, huh? No Karole walk tonight. Buddy's not too bummed he doesn't care for the lightning and thunder, but he does love wet grass and puddles. Today, to and from work, to and from lunch... not my usual but about 30 min, total.

I have been exercising. Shadow, did you send Carol over to check up on me in the ODAAT thread? :paranoid:

My back still feels just a bit delicate after lots of standing at the weekend, but I've been able to do the usual strengthening stuff, and a bit of bending. What I really notice is that I feel much more stiff and achy if I haven't exercised for a few days, even if I think I've been fairly active.

Did my Thursday workout: 15 min Pilates Beginners + 10 min stretch (in original 'Bun Blast' programme from Leisa Hart's dvd it should be 'yoga' and not 'stretch' but as I know absolute nothing about yoga so every time it is mentioned I do stretch instead; hopefully no harm in it?)
Today I felt a bit low because of the cloudy weather and because of daily weigh in: I'm 1 lb up again. I know how silly of me it is (& it makes me think what you Shadow said some days ago that's one of reasons she doesn't like stepping on the scale every day) and in fact I am very much ashamed that it can spoil my day. I will work on it, I promise!

Sweetie, it's not just daily weighing that I don't do ! I weigh about twice a year. But do you know what? I have found that when I'm not obsessed at it, I stay within my range much better. When I was losing it was one thing, but now that I'm in maintenance, I just don't feel the need to flog myself with a number all the time. Now having said that, I will add that if I had carb days or "free" days or whatever-excuse-you-wanna-call-it days, I might feel differently. But this is the way I eat, 24/7. I think when you're true to the plan, the scale really isn't that necessary. YMMV, of course ;)!

Anyway - hope the sun soon shines again and you feel perky again soon :)!

But I did mow the yard Saturday, walked a mile Sunday and 1 1/2 miles today. I'm going to try to walk at least a mile everyday when I'm not too exhausted. I work in a factory with no air conditioning, so I get very hot and end up exhausted by the time I get home.
