#1 Drink water (100+ oz)
#2 Protein shake as one of my meals

B: Sausage/eggs w/ 2 slices cheese
L: Bunless burger & salad bar
D: Protein shake

Scale watch: +4.9
Even with my mega meal for dinner (1400 calories, 12.8 carbs) I still dropped 0.2 this morning which shocked me. I've only charted my meals one day but I'm starting to think there may be a WIDE range on calorie totals from day to day without me realizing it. Hopefully paying closer attention can help me level that out a bit.

Congrats on the drop Spruce!! Always a good way to start the morning :) Me on the other had have been going up and down a half pound each morning. I do not know I insist on tormenting myself. I should only weigh in on Mondays, my official weigh in day, but I have no patience. I have a feeling these last few pounds are going to torture me to come off. I turn 32 August 5th. I am promising myself I will be at or below goal by then. I am determined...I just hope my body is willing to shed these pounds as much as my mind is.

B: Turkey Bacon
L: Tuna Salad
D: Shrimp Salad
S: Coffee with creamer (I will probably regret it)

Heather it seems sometimes our bodies just won't listen to what we want will they? You could maybe set your "goal" as eating perfectly clean until August 5th as that is a goal that you can certainly attain whether your body likes it or not.

Then as a result of your reaching your goal, (eating perfectly clean) perhaps the body will have cooperated by that time as well. At least that way you have sucessfully attained the goal you set, and don't set up any uncontrollable failure such as your body not being ready to turn loose of those last pounds.

Am I making any sense here???? (Sometimes I don't!!)

I'm wanting to get back to 135 again (for some reason) and cannot shed those last 2 pounds it seems. So I am going to increase my exercise and muscle mass so that I look as though I weigh 135 and be happy with that !! :D:D

Hey all.
I am really struggling planning my meals today.
I started the day with a BIG steak and a piece of lc toast.
Lunch will be a caesar salad with egg, almond, parm.
Snack will be a 4oz burger (not enough protein on the salad)
But supper.....I am struggling to think through the evening. I volunteer tonight at the cat rescue and my time is tight between work and home...
I hate when I can't plan. THis is why I do my planning on Sunday's, so I dont' have to do it during the day. And last night we were out with friends so I didn't sit and think through the meals.
I will finish my planning today, just not right now. We talked about picking up something at TGIFridays, that's always an option.

Hopefully paying closer attention can help me level that out a bit.I think it's a good idea to check the math every once in a while. It's very easy to pick up a bad habit. (Take that drop and don't look back! ;))

I am determined...I just hope my body is willing to shed these pounds as much as my mind is.That would be nice, but bodies have their own timetable. I wish I knew a stall-breaker that would work every time. They sometimes even seem contradictory!

Am I making any sense here???? (Sometimes I don't!!) Silly girl! You ALWAYS make sense!

I will finish my planning today, just not right now. We talked about picking up something at TGIFridays, that's always an option. I haven't been to Friday's in several years, but I remember they had an appetizer of wings and celery stalks that I thought was very good.

I'm doing okay today. The bid stuff is in the can and I'm relaxing while I munch a lunch of leftover steak. A lovely change from frozen casserole! I have sunflower seeds for a snack later and a grilled hamburger planned for din. :)

Must have been "leftover steak" day. I had such a YUMMY one for breakfast. Pink in the middle but not bloody...Mmmm
I just ate my salad for lunch, but only about 1/3. Still full from lunch.

There are lots of options at Fridays. The wings are good, the ribs are acceptable (with sauce on the side), and they have a couple meals they claim are "low carb". Just can't seem to PICK one. May just end up getting a burger from Wendy's...
I'm finding myself really food-bored lately...I don't get that way very often.

Goals will be met.

Lunch was pretty big. I tried logging it in fitday but I can't even guess on the salad bar stuff. I'm going to try to recreate the salad tomorrow at home by measuring since I usually eat this most Thursdays.

Playing around with fitday I surmised the nutrition on the burger (8oz, 2 packets mayo, 6 pickle slices) clocks in at: 842 calories, 71.6 fat, 2.7 carbs, 45.5 protein. The salad contained lettuce, cheese, ranch (note: I overdo salad dressing), bacon bits, and sunflower seeds.

Seems this is my MO: small breakfast then between lunch and dinner I end up with 1 small meal and 1 big meal. This is probably why my focus on the protein shake as a protein-packed smaller meal has helped my weight head in the right direction.

Given my big lunch I dropped the heavy cream from my shake tonight. 2 scoops unflavored protein powder + water + da vinci's banana + da vinci's raspberry = a cherry type soda flavor. Next time I'm going to use less da vinci's to see how low I can get the amounts while keeping some flavor. That means dinner was 210 instead of 360.

I think I probably need to even out my big meal a bit. I don't have the numbers to back it up yet but I'm pretty sure it isn't as big as last night or lunch today but I want to play around with serving sizes and sides to bring it down a bit.

Curse you fitday! Remember how I said I ate a 1400 calorie meal for dinner last night (the artichoke chicken)? It was wrong.

I thought we got chicken that didn't have a nutrition tag on the package so I looked it up in fitday. Fitday said it was 400+ calories per serving whereas when I realized the package had nutritional information it said 1 serving (each piece was 2 servings) was 100 calories.

Tomorrow night I'll be recrunching the numbers. Probably need to find a better source for my lunch numbers too.

Isn't there some USDA site that a lot of people around here use? Will have to search through Dr. Mike's blog as I think I remember a post a while back.

Karole - yes you are making sense ;) I cannot eat any cleaner - that is for sure. I do not stray at all from Plan since I know I am so close - which makes it harder. I have to think more positive and not get frustrated. The goal will be met. Period.

I was just worried your frustration was from not reaching a goal you set to lose x amount of pounds by Aug. 5th. Since the body is tricky about it when you get close to your goal weight it may not cooperate, leaving you ready to give up. Hope you didn't think I was implying you aren't working it clean, cuz I know you have been very diligent (that's what gets so darn frustrating, isn't it !!! Anyway, keep on keepin on, eventually it's gotta give.

No I did not think you were implying anything...I was just pointing out that there is pretty much nothing food wise I could really change. I agree with you....frustration can definetly make you want to throw in the towel Why does the body have to be so stubborn!! Good news was the scale did go down for me this morning...I am staying off it tomorrow (don't want to see a fluctuation up and have my frustration kick in overdrive). ;)

I use DietPower since it lives on my computer and not the internet. It is extremely easy to add custom foods, and many of the restaurants are in it. www.dietpower.com But (http://www.dietpower.com But) if you want the official USDA site, it is: http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/

I find it a bear to use but then again, I'm on dialup.

I use cron-o-meter (http://spaz.ca/cronometer/). It has the USDA database built in, is free, lives on your computer, allows custom foods etc and I find it easy to use. I also downloaded the PC version of the USDA db, but since installing cronometer I don't use it, because cronometer has the sort of search that narrows down the list as you're typing, and brings the things you've used most often to the top, which I much prefer to typing something in, then seeing if anything matches and trying again until it does.
