There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

-Bernard Williams

Take some time today to smell the roses, or at least have that puppy lick your face. After we got home from our volunteering yesterday at an event, we spent 6 hours outside working on the patio, the flowers, talking with the neighbors, playing with the dog. Towards dark we lit the candles on the porch, enjoyed still the smell of the charcoal we had cooked our porkchops on and just sat back with a cup of coffee and enjoyed the day, it was magnificient.

I can't remember the last time that I spent so much time doing nothing! Planting and deadheading and watering flowers to me is just pure relaxation. But what a shot of energy it gave me. We laughed and talked with the neighbors and watched Polly the incredible protector of our home, ward away all the bunnies and squirrels and ducks by her slight growl or bark.

Simple simple things are what always recharge me, what always I enjoy the most. So get your face licked today by a puppy or hugged by a kid or throw a rock in a stream or stop and really look at the flowers budding away, wow, it's a great life!

Have a wonderful day!

Oh, Billie! How WONDERFUL your day sounded... ahhhhhh... :)

Well, I'm SURE we will get hugs by two little boys today... they have no clue, but they will be enjoying their FIRST EVER major league ball game. Someone gave us four tickets to the Rockies game today... can't wait! And, Mr. Biggest won't be able to sleep the next two nights, as HIS baseball starts on Tuesday, LOL! :D

My joy today was arriving home in time to spend some intimate moments with my two-year-old granson as he woke up from his nap. I played cars with him and got a voluntary hug and kiss before his daddy took him home.

Now I have a messy house (I didn't clean much yesterday), a husband who wants some kind of dinner, and three or four hours until bedtime. I won't even think about it. :paranoid:
