Hi-- I read with interest the discussion on glucosamine. We take the vitamin regimen outlined in the back of "The Protein Power LifePlan". We have been doing this for 2½ years now. My guy is taking some meds for a month for another issue, and we deemed it prudent to stop all vitamin and supplement use until this was finished. We take many of them in individual tablets, never more than the recommended dosage, but it is quite a number of pills. I haven't taken them for two or three days either, for no special reason. We both took our bg yesterday, about 4 hours after lunch, and got readings of 83 and 86. they have never been that low before-- not by ten points. could some of the things we have been taking cause bg to be higher on average? We tend to eat at the Intervention level most of the time. thanks, robyn

Not that I know of, of course regarding the ones described in Protein Power LifePlan. I used to take their supplement in the past but it all came in one tablet. Could you tell us the source of yours? I'm just thinking on the ingrediets, other than the vitamins or minerals, that are present in the formulations that may somehow affect blood sugar.

Hi Gabriel-- I have been away for a few days so it took me awhile to reply. I buy only what I consider to be good quality, basic supplements-- those from Puritan's Pride, NOW, Source Naturals. It really seems to me that the supplements could not be the source of the low bg readings. They contain miniscule amounts of binders. I guess why a certain reading occurs at a given time can be somewhat of a mystery due to such a complex combination of factors. Thanks for your interest in my question.
