Tomorrow is the start of the farmers market for us, I just looked on line and here is what will be offered tomorrow. At our Farmers market, it has to be home grown and not imported from outside the locality, obviously spring is just getting started so the pickings are not huge, but look at what you can get at your own farmer's market:
MAY 20, 2006: Romaine and buttercrunch lettuce, bok choi, red and white radishes, beets, cilantro, Japanese turnips, mesclun, kohlrabi, sorrel, green garlic, arugula, spinach, chives, green onions, and assorted herbs (oregano, mint, thyme, chervil, sage, garlic chives). For planting in your own garden, you will find potted perennials, herbs, and more . . . including parsley, tomato plants, and basil. We always have hormone-free meats, free-range chickens, and fresh free-range eggs.
Make sure you check yours out, the veggies are so fresh and the prices are usually great!
