It's a new week so it's time to MOVE IT, MOVE IT, MOVE IT!!!

I already did my chest/back workout and am getting ready to hit the floor for my PT stretches.

Who's next :)????

Well, I guess not me. I'll probably be skipping the exercise today. Woke up slightly feverish, achy with swollen glands. Did a few stretches before getting up. Will wait to see how I feel later.

I found I need to support my head an neck when doing the floor ab work. I've got a stiff neck this morning. He said to stretch my arms out front, but I should have known better.

Here's my schedule:
Monday - upper body, bike and treadmill
Tuesday - lower body, bike and treadmill
Wednesday - rest
Thursday - upper body, bike and treadmill
Friday - lower body, bike and treadmil
Daily - transverse ab crunches twice a day.

You'll wanna work up to that, grasshopper ;). First support the head with both hands. As you get stronger, put one arm behind, stretch the other forward. Then when that gets easier, you can go to the advanced level :).

You're not giving your abs any break at all ??????

We hiked 2.5miles on Sunday.
We were following a "self-guided" trail through a sandstone mine, so it wasn't "strenous"...but we added a side tour that took us to some falls. That was a LOT of climbing, walking in sand, and just plain figuring out where the heck the trial was. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banning_State_Park

Overall, great weekend of hiking.

You're not giving your abs any break at all ??????I'm figuring in the "Forgetful Factor". My morning routine is so tight that I don't even think about adding exercise. I was faithful over the weekend, but this morning I was on another planet. Once I'm dressed, I'm reluctant to get down on the carpet and pick up lint. :o

I'm packed for the gym today. When I get better at getting up and down, I'll try to work one in there. I can't stand on my knees yet, even on the carpet. Sounds silly, but they're full of arthritis.

I did walk a lot yesterday. Rather slow down country roads, but probably a mile or better.

Sounds wonderful, Amy :D! Walking in sand is awesome for the muscles!

Perfectly understandable ! And you certainly don't wanna do it before you're dressed. I'd think that would get you some serious carpet burns  :p.

No my dear, doesn't sound "silly" at all - just downright painful ! Is there maybe a table at the gym (or a bench or something) that you could use for your ab work where you could just lie on it and forget about hitting the floor?

Sounds lovely!!! Besides, we don't always have to push - sometimes it's really nice to take the time to enjoy!

Hello Shadow, what a pertinent question, indeed. And a good one...;) The only problem is with the answer. I've exercised my little grey cells but it won't make your day, or will it? OK, I'm putting on my tracksuit right away & I'm heading for my stationary bike.
Oops, I've forgotten to mention that there was no exercising since Sunday..:o

I did check out the floor exercise area yesterday and noted that there is nothing there to help me get up gracefully. Of course, I can get my butt in the air and balance on my hands while I stand up, but not in full view of everybody in the gym! I'll look for a bench tonight.

I can also pick up an exercise mat for home, or get out a clean rug. Did I mention that I'm not too bright? Especially in the A.M.! :o

I am cutting my gym time shorter and shorter. Do I need some new music or? Help I need motivation.

That sounds like the wise thing to do ;)! You can always do them on your bed at home but you'd have to focus very hard on keeping your core stabilized and not letting the mattress either ruin your form OR give you momentum.

I can also pick up an exercise mat for home, or get out a clean rug. Did I mention that I'm not too bright? Especially in the A.M.! :o
But are you able to get down onto a mat? I was thinking that would hurt too much, even with the cushioning. But if you're doing it at home, you can always use pillows & etc to cushion your knees and have a chair nearby to assist you in getting back up .

Hi, Nam :). What are you doing? How long have you been doing it? When did you last do something different than what you're doing now?

But are you able to get down onto a mat?Yup, with the assist of a sturdy chair, as you mentioned. I just can't balance on either knee bone long enough to push up with the other leg no-handed.

I change for the gym in my office before I leave and tonight I did my crunches on the carpet next to my side chair. It worked! Then I went to the gym and did lower body, ending with ten minutes on the arc trainer  with the incline at it's lowest point, as recommended by my doc.

Okay, that's way too much about me and not enough about you! Are you feeling any better this week?

Ouch! I had a problem for years kneeling on my one knee. Over the years I've learned how to do it without it killing me - but I only have one spot that hurts. It makes me ache to think of the whole patella hurting !

Nah - YOU are far more interesting :p! Actually, I am making some progress. I did get a cortisone injection in my right hip Monday and so far it's helped that side. And the u/s and stimulation (or whatever it's called) in PT is helping a lot too. Much better than when they had me doing more exercise . Thank you for asking :)!

Just to let you know that yesterday I did 25 minutes on the bike! Today I did 15 mins Tamilee Arms + 5 mins abs. Feel much better when I do some M&S than the other days. There is nothing like that good whip of yours, Madame Shadow!:D

Actually, that sounds even better because then I could just apply it to the place-that-is-hurting-du-jour since I seem to have a nomad pain !

I did upper body tonight, plus the bike, the dreadmill and the arc trainer. I cannot speak for any of the other slackers. ;) Ummmmm, you're right! There are some noses missing around here.

Are we gonna hear the whip wail tonight?
