It is easy to dodge our responsibilities, but we cannot dodge the consequences of dodging our responsibilities.
Sir Josiah Stamp
I can go off-plan. I don't even have to tell everyone about it. The problem is that it will have it's effect on me and I'm the only one who will have to live with it! The great part about that is we can come together to encourage each other and learn from each other. This is a wonderful forum!

Breakfast will be a protein shake. Lunch will be a burger. Dinner will be chorizo and green beans, sauteed together.

I already ate a huge bit of my carb allotment! But I have two pretty low carb meals planned, so it's all good:

breakfast:
cottage cheese and strawberries
3 melba crackers with cream cheese and smoked salmon

snack-protein shake (so hungry today)

lunch will be chicken with salad

dinner will be lc lasagna

better go defrost some meat-lol.

I am doing upper body strength training today.

Hi, y'all,
Greetings from a cold Boston today. My cardio will be "walking" in the wind & cold today.

I found a computer, so here I am.

Great quote, Carol, it is so true, we cannot dodge our responsibilities but we can't the consequences. Choice, choice, choice. If I choose to "let the diet go" I am the one who will notice.

Ammy, I like your temper tantrum. Sometimes I feel just like that in regard to food issues. Hang in there, I bet things will work out for you. You're an inspiration to us all.

Friendly, don't be discouraged. When I started PP the first time, it took me several weeks to find the "right" blend for my stubborn body that loves it's fat. From looking at your menu, you might feel less hungry with a little more good fat, and adding more protein snacks. I found raw crunchy low carb veggies with lean protein for snacks worked for me. Hang in there!

Well, this is a new experience for me eating in an uncontrolled environment. Yesterday, I did stay on plan, even with flying.

Today, so far, pretty good. Have eaten all the meals at my hotel. Don't know all the carb amounts, but here goes:
B- (not much choice, "free breakfast"), scrambled eggs, real milk, tea, 1/4 english muffin, small cup of fresh fruit.
L-low carb wrap, ham & cheese, veggies, bowl of carrot/ginger soup, tea.
D-?? Fellow business natives have promised to take us "out of towners" to a great restaurant. Will do my best.

Have a great hump day, all. Now off to the business meetings.:D

Light attendance. Or is this the regular flow. Well, I am back, so :p.

Well, yes and maybe no. The Eades suggest that it's better to spread the carbs around the day, rather than bank them.

But I LIKE to dodge my responsibilities around eating right and exercising!!!!!

1- talking is a good start to getting better. When you get married, it's for better or worse. State of MN may not think of you that way, but really, that's where you are.
2- I think I like to dodge my responsibilities, but really, I enjoy doing my chores, too. And I liked the results of taking my responsibilities better than the alternative. As the ever sage A-Rod said, you either go one way or the other.

As for me, back at work, no breakfast (didn't stock on shakes before the trip), big lunch (steak+eggs+cottage cheese+decaf), good on water, and getting work caught up.

I found a computer, so here I am.Yay! Sounds like you're doing well, Claudette!

Light attendance. Or is this the regular flow. Well, I am back, so :p.Welcome back, Max. :) It's been a bit light this week. It's spring break for me, so maybe it is in other places, too.

I've been at the eye doctor, rented a car for the boys to drive to Texas, now I'm headed for the dentist. After that, I'll get to the gym.

Good to see you back with us Max !!! Hope your vacation was wonderful. I saw that you had only gained ...what was it 2 pounds or so?? That is terrific.

I am just now able to get online today. We had no internet or cell phone service for several hours---I guess the satellite went on the blink.

Its a bright sunny day in the 6o's here so I've been out in the sun getting my D for the day while meditating--what a multitasker I am !!

No exercise yet but I am keeping that from Shadow for the time being.

I'll check in with you all later.

O...kay.... So you're having fun, then? :D

Was this sarcasm????? :suspicious:

Things are going well so far today...
that lasagna I had for lunch is such a filler-upper...nice!!

I do have a restaurant to visit for supper tonight. I have looked at the menu and have a plan...that's the first step in fighting the battle, right??????

As GI Joe used to say, "knowing is half the battle."

Which brings my rattled mind around to this thought:
Knowing is half the battle. Half the fun of any trip is getting there (Obviously never flew Alitalia). Clearly, half of everything is in the preparation, the plan, the research, etc. (This is why I've already ordered a book and some videos for next year's European pilgrimage, Spain.)

There are two ways to look at this. 1- anticipation is built in planning or travel or learning or whatever and the anticipation is like half of the experience. 2- The people who write these sayings don't know how to have a good time when they get to where they're going.

I have digressed very far. The mountain of work that I have missed has not materialized. I think it's because I killed myself the week before I left to complete everything long term.

It's been a long day taking care of rather than dodging my responsibililties. I like to keep up on details and errands so they don't overwhelm me or keep my desk messy. But geez... do they ever end?

Talk is good, Amy. Keep at it.

Welcome back, Max. Can't wait to hear about your travels.

Sounds like you had a day like me, Carol. But with a much better attitude.

Karole... Shadow will find you!

My food today:

B - egg whites w/ parm & bacon
L - turkey and swiss on lo carb tortilla
S - turkey
D - salmon and salad ad lc ice cream bar

I didn't get to the gym, so this will be one of my two days off per week.
Have a great evening, all!

I didn't post yesterday. Stayed within carb limits, low on calories and protein, more concerned about the protein.

I had the munchies badly again yesterday. Had to remind myself that I do better if I front-load things a bit - I seem to like about 40% of my calories and protein for breakfast, then I'm less likely to want to nibble all day. So started out with a good breakfast this morning that fell within those numbers. My husband didn't come home for lunch today and I was busy, so, believe it or not, I didn't even think about eating until about 3:00. Even then I wasn't really hungry, but I had a hard-boiled egg.

I baked bread today, and had a thin slice. Hamburger patty for supper. I'm still well below 40 ECC and less than 1100 calories. But I guess if I'm not hungry, I'll stick with that.

The mountain of work that I have missed has not materialized. I think it's because I killed myself the week before I left to complete everything long term. That's great, because you probably can use less stress at this point. I hate having to hit the ground running!

It's been a long day taking care of rather than dodging my responsibililties. I like to keep up on details and errands so they don't overwhelm me or keep my desk messy. But geez... do they ever end?Not that I've ever noticed, Vivienne. :(

I didn't post yesterday. Stayed within carb limits, low on calories and protein, more concerned about the protein.Sandy, it's hard to eat when you're not hungry, however maybe you can add more protein to breakfast?

I had a crazy day food-wise. I drank coffee instead of having my shake, so I had about a quarter cup of almonds to put something in my stomach before leaving for my first appointment. When I got home, I had about 2 ounces of swiss cheese and some baby carrots. After the second appointment, exercising and shopping I grabbed a snack pack at the butcher, sausage and cheese, because I was too hungry to wait until I cooked dinner. Then, I wasn't hungry for dinner. I just had a greek yogurt and blueberries with cinnamon and ground walnuts. This is what happens when I am without structure! I haven't even added up the figures.

I lucked out, Vivienne, ms. Shadow didn't come for me. I just finished a few min. ago and reported in so I am safe til tomorow !

Got the rest of it done today too, but I was higher on calories than I wanted to be. Carbs were great though. (I got into some almonds again)
