Up and at 'em gang :D! This is my "rest" week between cycles so to date I have gotten in 2 - 45 minute walks, including lots of steep hills. Am aiming for at least 5 such walks this week. But boy do I miss my weights :(!
So what are YOU up to this week :)?

I try to persist in regularity of my workouts, for a moment there is no need to change much. I also try to do at least 20 min/day which I consider as a big challenge indeed.;)
Sunday - Tamilee's Arms (15 mins) + QuickFix Legs (10 mins)
Monday - Tae Bo Get Moving (15 min) + abs (5 mins)

Hi All!
I've been MIA for almost 2 weeks with a terrible chest cold that then went to my sinuses.:( I am on the path to finally beginning to breathe again - but, still plenty of phlegm!!!!! I have really felt rotten. No energy. I hope I can shake this crap pretty soon. This is first day I have even felt like "talking". The weather here has finally reached a warm temp and no rain for the last 72 hours. I think that helps. There was plenty of flooding and closed roads in our city. I think sunshine always makes a person feel better. :) I am still out for this week, but, I hope to be back at the "Y" next week.
I hope you all are have a nice week.

I hope to get back at it tomorrow!!!
Nice to see that others have not found the exercise slump I have..

Carol - Good workout and a great way to end the day seeing the chiro :D!
Sharon - Take care of yourself and get well soon :)!
Jackie - We all hit rough patches . The important thing is that you get back into it before it takes a serious flogging ;). I'm holding you to your word of getting something done today!
I have now completed 4 walks and some ab work so far this week. Still missing my weights, though :crybaby:!

I held my word Shadow. The oldest kidlet (10) was at my bedroom door this morning saying "aren't we going for our run"? So early this morning I completed 25 minutes of run/walk. Didn't have to work today so I also did my 25 minute Taebo video and...............today is Tuesday so I will have my dance practice tonight!
I am off grocery shopping.
Have a great St. Patrick's Day everyone!!!

Sticking my head in. Sunday I was in PAIN. Monday and today are just too busy this week.
I think I'm just going to plan on 2 sessions this week, but do my "mix" DVD both times, that way I cover everything.
Hopefully things settle down (well never fully, but into routine) soon.

Well zero to report for yesterday, I just wasn't feeling well again. Dh and I both had sinus and it made him dizzy and me naseous.
Today was tolerable tho and I went to line dancing for an hour. We were gone from home most of the day so didn't get back to do anything else before time to go dancing. Hopefully tomorrow will be good.

Hi, y'all,
Been MIA, working on Masters and workingt full time, but have been exericsing most days, aren't you glad, Ms. Shadow?
However, for accountabilty, I do need to post.
Tuesday, March 17- 1 hr Callanetics tape
Wednesday, March 18- 1 hr Callanetics tape, cardio tonight.
I really want to tone up, so I am using Callanetics( worked for me years ago) to do it. It motivates me to stay on PP if I can look in the mirror and see a difference.
Well, off to study for as I took today off to do so.
Keep moving everybody,
Claudette

This morning I did my bootcamp video (45min). Everything felt good, I can tell my core is getting stronger as I find I can isolate some muscles to do the moves more effectively. Ya for me!!!! Still a long road, but it sure is nice to feel benefits.
I hope to go for a walk this evening or spend some time on the elliptical. I will post the yay or nay later.

Hi, have had a busy day so far and I'm tired. Started out with a bit of horse training in the barn lot to make sure we understood each other--esp. which of us is the boss. Then brushing and saddling and riding in our training circle , finally our county road. It was glorious. Love that horse.
This p.m. dd came over with a great grand blessing and we all went for a nice 35min. walk in the wonderful sunshine. (Next time I am wearing shorts--it got hot out there in no time)
Any way, that's my day !!

Got home from work late today, so tonight was a 35 minute Callanetics tape.
Will try to add cardio tomarrow.

I did upper body tonight. Also, mild treadmill, bike and arc trainer. Knees are a little tender, but the pulled muscle from a few days ago is getting back to normal. :)
I took a muscle relaxer tonight because I'm waking up at 4 AM with leg cramps the last couple of nights. I realized I had cut my potassium dose in half last weekend, so I put it back to two .99's a day and see if that helps. It might be the new orthotics, which are a slight correction from the first pair. Anything's possible!

Hi, well I got in one and a half hours line dancing last night as planned and we did some fast ones too. Good cardio.
Today so far I have ridden my horse for 45 min. and now I am due to get really serious about cleaning my house. It needs everything !! So I will get some exercise from that, but I will also do my best to get in some intentional exercise later today too.

Shadow, is that just to shake things up? Strengthen your character? Did I miss the explanation? Just wondering! ;)
! As cranky as I'm getting without my weights, I certainly can't claim the change has strengthened my character !
I am on a 3 1/2 month rotation which includes 3 mesocycles:
Meso 1 - Muscle Endurance
Meso 2 - Hypertrophy
Meso 3 - Strength
Between each cycle is a rest week to prepare your muscles for the next cycle to come - so no weights at all that week :(.
It's a pretty detailed thing - you have to take your 1RM (one rep max) and in each cycle lift progressively closer to your max poundage.
I'm sure that's more than enough info so I'll quit now :p!

My goodness! I might have a vague memory of hearing that some years back. You must be finding a benefit in it (to counterbalance the grouchiness... ;)) but I'm impressed that you're so dedicated, my friend.

If nothing else, there is an enormous sense of relief when I get my weights back . Even if I do get edgy, I know that it is a good thing to do now and again. There's no way I could do this often, though. Once a year - maybe twice max. If it weren't for that week from weights I'd be okay - but you know how I feel about cardio and especially about nothing BUT cardio :p.

It's far easier to be dedicated than to feel disappointed and be disgusted at myself ;).

No run outside, decided to do 30 minutes on the ellptical instead. I increased my speed for the whole 30 minutes so I was impressed with the workout. I did free arm weights working the upper body and arms (bat wings).
I asked in the challenge thread, and will ask here as well. Is there any benefit to taking CLA??? I have read alot of info on it helping to increase muscle mass and decreasing fat. As anyone here had any success using it??

Hi, y'all,
Whew, what a busy day! So glad it is Friday.
See, I knew when I did my exercise in the am before work, things would be better. For one thing, in the am it's done, no excuses later in the day.
This am, Body Flex aerobic/toning tape, 30 minutes of Callanetics for the Total body.
Have a great weekend, all.

stay away? not during this time of year. I'm so full of cabin fever I have to get out and walk.
Speaking of...
walked to a meeting this morning (1mile) then took the longer way home (probably 1.5miles).

Hi, y'all,
Today, was a 30 minute hike in a nearby state park.
Hadn't been walking in a week or so. Whew!
Those trails are great, 50 ft or so inclines, it is interval training at it's best. Later, 40 minutes of toning Callanetics, they are gentle but always "whip" me.
Still, I like the changing shape in the mirror they give.
Scale was good again today, down 0.4 of a lb. Size 10's are actually loose!
If that isn't a motivator for moi, what is!
Do you think our Shadow could be right about exercise?
Hugs,
Claudette

No HIIT because I'm back to leg cramps again. :suspicious: I was without my potassium morning dose for a few days but I was still taking one at night. Plenty of water. It might be the new set of orthotics I was given, which are slightly different from the first set, but other than that I have no idea in the world!

I've taken it from time to time and it seems to work for a short while. I used to alternate between it and phosphytidyl choline when money wasn't so tight. If you have the funds and think it sounds like a good idea, it shouldn't hurt to try it. Like anything, some say it works wonders, others say it's snake oil ;). Most likely a YMMV like everything in life :p!
