Optimism is essential to achievement and it is also the foundation of courage and true progress.

Nicholas Murray Butler

Good morning! I hope you're feeling optimistic after the great month we had. There's been lots of progress and much courage shown. Have you seen the March Challenge and are you ready to take the next step in your journey?

My breakfast will be coffee with cream and I'll do brunch with sausage and eggs. Lunch/supper will likely be greek yogurt with nuts and berries. After that, it's a toss-up. :)

What's on your agenda?

Today is the last day of February and I must admit that I am very optimistic that March will be a hectic, workfull, busy, tremendously busy month. Everyone calls me Ms. Optimist because I always see positive in everything except my occasional feeding frenzies. In the long-run for me it is easier to see the glass half full than half empty. Like that quote Carol.

Am off to the bookshop in a little while. Had a wonderful couple of little omelettes for brunch. Just ham and cheese but oh so good. Lunch later. With DH in Florence, I am living schedule-less! It is wonderful!

Good weekend everyone...sunshine galore here and I intend enjoying every minute of it. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain!

Greetings for the weekend! We are entertaining all weekend and I must say we both enjoy it so much. Last night were had the kids over for dinner, tonight we are going to a fundraiser and tomorrow, Gabe is having his faculty friends and we are making Gravlax which in our case is a 4.5 lb of sushi grade salmon marinating in salt and dill for 48 hours! Yum! I have only had it once before but talk about a dose of omega three! The other side dishes are not so PP friendly so I won't describe but dessert is cheesecake made with Truvia on a nut crust with fresh raspberries.

It is Gabe's birthday so we are celebrating!

Gabe! Happy birthday! and may you have many, many more!!!!
:D:D:D

Well, after the weather hit record highs this past week in the mid 90's F, today is not supposed to get above 50 F with blustery winds and tonight is predicted to be in the low 20's. Brrr. Many folks are coming down with a respiratory "crud" so I might not go to church tomorrow as I'm prone to that kind of thing.

I have no plans for today other than to stay on track food-wise and get in some exercise. I might finish altering some clothes I've been meaning to get to, but then agaiin, curling up in front of the fire with a good book sounds wonderful as well!

Breakfast will be scrambled eggs/cheese/bacon with grapefruit. Venison chili sounds great for lunch with a large salad. Supper will either be a reprisal of the chili or shrimp gumbo if I get around to making it. Of course, some dark chocolate, an apple, cheese and wine will find itself in there somewhere. I'm still getting used to eating more ECCs (not that I'm complaining, mind you ).

Have a great Saturday, everyone and see you over on the March challenge tomorrow.

Morning all!

Raining like I dunno what here today, will need a boat to go anywhere ;) Crazy thing is it got up to 72 yesterday and there's snow in the forecast for tomorrow and Monday. If we don't all get sick I'll be surprised.

I'm down another pound this morning :D If I was weighing only once a week I'd see a 4.5 change this morning and claim a "whoosh" but as it was really only about 1 per day I know better. I'm at a net of 3.5 pounds for the month of February.

Will probably have bacon and eggs for breakfast, but not certain yet as I may fall back on having "breakfast for dinner". If not it will be shake. The rest of the day is rather loose, as weekends tend to be for me.

Will check back in later.

Hello, all! Glad to see that everyone's doing well.

Happy Birthday, Gabe! http://bestsmileys.com/birthday2/15.gif

I'm busy doing chores and encouraging others (in my house) to do the same. :D One has escaped already.

Hi all, have had a touch of some kind of stomach crud, but feel a bit better now thank goodness.

We are having a terrifically beautiful snow storm outside my window today. We can't even see our horses or the barn thru it all. Like I said it is gorgeous but I hope it doesn't pile up on the high way as my youngest dd has to get to work at the hospital this evening. I always worry about the weather for her sake. Dh said there is at least 3-4 inches down already and it is still coming fast.

I'm taking it easy today and think I might do some soup later on --that just sounds right !!

Okay-I'm going to do lower body strength exercises, and my meals:

Protien shake (chocolate eas mixed with water, a splash of half and half, and a drop of carb free chocolate sauce)
cottage cheese w/ strawberries

lunch-salad with lettuce, cukes, a stray chickpea or two, grilled chicken, bacon, and caesar dressing and a diet coke

snack--a few peanuts and a few ounces of cheddar

dinner will be chicken with olive oil, cheddar, and bacon. And avacado on the side.

Well, it's 5:30 and I'm finally getting out of my pjs! :o

It has been SO long since I've had a day that I didn't have to do ANYTHING! We have a party tonight at 7pm, otherwise I'm not sure I would have gotten dressed at all!

Off to a restaurant for supper. Having walleye and veggies. There will be cake after, but I'll just stick to wine. No big deal...there is chocolate frosting, and I simply do NOT eat chocolate!

Chat later!

ps...Karole, I hope you are feeling better!

Passing through....

Karole I hope you feel better!

Amy enjoy the party. :)

I've been working on laundry, filing, dinner menus and grocery store today. Now to see if we can actually stick to the menu for a change.

All in all a productive day. I had to "make do" for my shake this morning, was out of cottage cheese so I tried to double up on the powder and the almond butter to give it some substance, was actually too sweet. :( At least it motivated me to get to the store today!

I've also consumed cheese, leftover flat iron, tuna and almonds throughout the day. Dinner will be scrambled eggs and bacon, possibly a piece of toast.

Now I'm ready to relax!

Sounds good, Friendly. Glad you're here! :)

Well, it's 5:30 and I'm finally getting out of my pjs! :oThat is SO outrageous, Amy! :paranoid: My mother would NOT allow that! Good thing she lives over here. ;):D Have fun tonight.

I got a couple of key chores done, but not much else because I did a bit of cooking. I did some re-organizing in order to make more sense of things. There's never enough storage, you know? Off to fold laundry!

Another day another victory.
Finished the major phase of the iTunes reconstruction project last night, so felt accomplishment. Then, promptly started filling the gaps. This could be a Sisyphean task. I was going to say I'll know whether it's a Sisyphean task when its done, but, I don't think you can actually finish a Sisyphean task.

As for food, good breakfast, protein light (eggs benedict with smoked turkey, leave the bread, add bacon side) an okay trip to Costco (couple bread samples to taste some artisan butters for steak and dreamfields use, some bacon) and a great dinner (steak with african pepper rub) and some chocolate for dessert.

Today makes 58 of 59 on the year.

Had a great time at the party. Nice restaurant, good food, nice party after - NO concern over whether to have cake or not (it was all chocolate, so not for me).
Little too much wine, but it all worked out.

My calories are quite high today. Had peanut butter and sausage :o.

Pro: 151
Ecc: 48 (a few over, but it was a long day with a bit extra food)
fat: 128
Cal: 2295

oh, and none of that counted the cream sauce that was on my walleye...(fish)...so it was actually higher than that! Yikes...

but I'm not ending the day hungry. I just had some cottage cheese and crackers - it was a long evening, I needed something more.

G'night all.

Gee, already brunch time and I have already done all the beast chores! Getting good at it I think. Glad DH is coming home tomorrow! He has one really aggressive male rabbit who, when scared cus I put the hay in his cage, hisses like a cat and tries to scratch. Bet you all never thought they could be mean!

Dripping day today so that means DH will be able to fertilize the olive trees. Good job since he will take all those 25kg sacks off the front drive!

Meals shaping up pretty well today. Artichoke tuna and egg salad for brunch. Then roasted turkey necks for lunch and dinner. Carbs not sure but probably apple and purple cabbage.
Have a good Sunday folks!

Didn't post my totals last night so will do it now. Protein 127 ecc 32

fruits/veggies: blueberries, lettuce,tomato,onion,mushroom

I'm definitely lowering my protein intake for March. I seem to keep it pretty high here lately.

Feeling much better today. I think I'll go a bit of exercise later but in 10 min. segments .
