Well, for all of you with a house full of servants, this is the day you ante up with gifts (boxes) and let them have the day off. :D

For the rest of us mere mortals, we'll be packing up gifts, throwing out gift wrapping, and enjoying the day after Christmas.

And at least for some of us, getting back on the PP wagon after a spectacular honey tree day yesterday. Planned, of course.

I'll be having a protein shake for brekkie, mushroom, sausage, cauliflower casserole for lunch, and my standard lavish crackers, apple and cheese for supper. And probably a glass or two of wine.

Happily I weighed the same this morning as the last few days, so my day of debauchery apparently did me no harm. But I've been bouncing between 152 and 155 for the last month, so need to get serious if I'm ever going to lose down to goal. And I am determined to get there!

Have a wonderful day, everyone. :)

'Mornin, BC! When I saw the title of today's thread, I was guessing Mitra started it. I forgot you have ties to Britain.

I'm also in after-Christmas mode. The wrappings are mostly gone, the new underwear is in the washing machine, I'm having some breakfast of sausage and coffee with cream.

I also bravely stepped on the scale this morning and found that the two pounds I've been playing peek-a-boo with for weeks is back off. Since I've been munching more than usual, I'm relieved. I have two more parties, three if I include New Year's Eve. Tomorrow's is the least PP friendly and it's the in-laws. I'll just have a shake or some meat before I go and I'll be able to resist the goodies. We have a lot of fruit around the house and it's difficult to keep it low-carb, but I'll be spartan today.

DH is prepping to climb onto the roof and scrape the accumulated snow off the flat part of the roof. Why anyone would make a flat roof in Michigan, I don't know! Whoever added the second story on this house had strange ideas.

Hello BC, Carol. After having a houseful here on Christmas Eve and Christmas day, I was looking forward to a nice quiet day today, but my nephew, his girlfriend, my niece, and another friend of theirs (all age 20ish) decided to hang around for most of the day, so it's not been very quiet yet! Tomorrow is my mother's birthday, and I'm not quite sure yet what we'll be doing for that. She's feeling frustrated at not being able to do much because of her broken wrist - and I'm feeling a bit frustrated because I'm trying to cook what she wants, not what I would cook if the choice were left to me. The youngsters all went off somewhere else for lunch, so we were able to keep that simple, at least.

The weather was beautiful today, and I managed to escape with the camera for a little walk before it went dark. I'm trying to avoid filling my father's hard drive with my pictures, so I haven't looked at them yet.

I forgot to bring my camera to my mother's on Christmas Eve, which I regret! I do look forward to getting some snowy scenes, but there is absolutely no light, as is typical on this side of the lake. When we had fresh snow here, it was picturesque but bitter cold and now all the branches are bare and not very pretty. In fact, we're expecting a heavy rain tomorrow, so we'll have to start over.

Turns out the Geezer called a contractor to clear the roof. Our ladder is a bit short for the job and wobbly and he began to think better of climbing up on the roof. Thank goodness!

Morning all of you!
It's been a slow but full morning.
Coffee and lc pie, watched a movie, had breakfast (deviled eggs and turkey bacon), worked out, showered and cleaned up.
Now it's lunchtime and I'M HUNGRY.

GF, MIL, and I are heading out shopping. I was finally able to give GF her gift (the confirmation for a reservation in an overnight ice fishing shack) so now we need to go look at equipment. Our understanding is the best "tip-ups" are sold in the town next to us, so we're going to go check them out.

We're waiting for MIL to get back from the hairdresser so we can decide if she is coming or not, and if we're eating here or not...but I need to eat soon...I'm hungry!!!!

No scale here, so I'll just wait. I am doing my best to make sure I'm drinking enough - MIL only allows drinks in certain rooms, so I usually don't drink enough when we're here and I think it affects the scale, so I'll try and remedy that this time!

Won't be back until later to record my food for the day...cross your fingers I can find LC items. Right now they're talking "turkey on toast" which is creamed turkey and veggies on a piece of toasted white bread. :suspicious:
GF knows I won't eat that starchy meal so we're ready with a backup plan of an omelet.

Well, I don't celebrate Boxing Day, but I never knew what it was, so now I am glad. Of course I do not have to celebrate boxing day, anyways, because I do not have any servants yet, but wouldn't that be nice! My room might be clean and I would have someone to cook me fabulous low carb meals all day long!

Until then, I have to do it all myself!

I had nothing to do today so I worked on my subsistence plan. I decided to look at craigslist just to see if there were any rural places in my area where I could have a garden and my dog. To my elation, I found the perfect situation! A couple has a 1bd apartment on their property in the woods. They need someone to live there and help take care of the animals and organic garden! We have been corresponding all day and I am going to go out tomorrow or within the next few days to see it and talk to them. They sent me pictures and it's just beautiful!

Eating: I had a little rice last night with my Thai food dinner, but otherwise, all good. today: I haven't plugged it into fitday yet, but so far I have eaten 2 turkey sausage patties for bkfst, coffee, and I made tofu stir fry for lunch with cauliflower and broccoli. My roommate is from NYC (stays here during the week) and is Chinese and he lets me use his special Chinatown spices and sauces, which actually have the nutrition info in English on the back. They are all low carb and really amazing, so I mixed a bunch of stuff together and it came out great.

I also had some cheese as a snack. That's it so far!

Although, I like the idea of the servants to do the cooking and cleaning, too. Maybe later!

Got lots done today. DH isn't feeling well and we've got his family's party tomorrow, so he's glum. I hope it's just a 24-hr bug.

hi, all--

I'm typing this on my iPod, so it'll be short (not very good at texting). I'm in the same neck of the woods as some of you--visiting my brother in Big Rapids and attending a wedding in Illinois. We landed in Grand Rapids today, after a 2-hr de-icing delay in Detroit. Tonight we're in Indiana, tomorrow's the wedding, and then we're headed back to Michigan. Anyone want to meet for coffee?

I've been lurking from time to time but I really miss posting. I must, must find minutes here and there to do that.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Well I am ending the three day unplanned honey tree excursion. My body and mind are not very appreciative at all. I found the temptations too hard to deal with, amoung some other family issues that I felt contributed to my emotion eating.

Tomorrow I am sticking to water to flush and three shakes, the scale went up almost 4 lbs and that was difficult to see, especially when I have been working so hard!

On the upside the kidlets got a Wii so I did spend sometime bowling, etc etc. Not exactly exercise to equate the carb intake, but I am trying to think in a postive manner!

Anyone want to meet for coffee?Hi, Ruth! Love to, but we'll be ninety minutes apart with an ocean of fog between us! Plus I'm booked tomorrow.

Well I am ending the three day unplanned honey tree excursion. My body and mind are not very appreciative at all. I found the temptations too hard to deal with, amoung some other family issues that I felt contributed to my emotion eating.I totally understand. I'm going to a family thing tomorrow that I'd rather not.

...ahhhh ha what I was missing was the magnesuim!!! It pays to read the board, thanks a bunch!Glad to help!

Wow, with this warm air coming up from the South, we're socked in. Some areas only have seventy feet visibility, according to the local weather report. Can you imagine trying to drive on a freeway that way! :paranoid:

Good night, all!

Sam, Boxing Day isn't exactly "celebrated," these days, it just gives people two days off at Christmas. It's particularly useful this year, because it joins up to the weekend, so lots of people get four days off.

Carol, take care in the fog .

Jackie, Ruth good to see you.

I also wanted to add that I got on the scale at the gym yesterday and I lost another 2 lbs, bringing me below 150 for the first time in many years! At 149 right now!

I also realized that my nails are growing super fast. They were always pretty strong, but now they are just annoying!

My knee pain is about the same, but I think I might just not notice the changes very much. My back pain is noticeably slightly better, especially when lifting weights.
