Good morning! Are you solid in your plans? Planning is very important this week for those of us who will be faced with food we didn't choose and situations we might not be comfortable with. We need to have a plan and some accountability to reinforce our choices.
I remember the day I finally realized that I would eat too much at big family gatherings because it was the alternative to sitting down with judgemental people and having to answer questions about my existance. Yes, I may have been on the defensive just a trifle! ;) Anyway, it was a revelation and it never had power over me again. Something so simple...
Short week for me this week because I have Thursday and Friday off work, so my work week has been compressed. Anticipation is high, though.
What's up with you today?

Don't really have anything planned this week. I'm thinking about grilling the last steak in the freezer on Thanksgiving, but might go ahead and thaw out a turkey. Decisions, decisions. I know I will make some kind of sugar free pumpkin pie, just haven't settled on the recipe yet.
As for today, it's clean up time from my crafts work the past couple of weeks, and probably some outdoor work as I'm trying to get the "back 40" mowed this winter before spring growth starts up again.
Breakfast: LC cereal with LC milk, berries
Lunch: venison stew
Supper: cheese, apple, lavish crackers, perhaps wine, perhaps not
Snacks: almonds and dark chocolate
BC, the pie I made turned out REALLY well...I put a link to the recipe over the weekend I think. But I also put my advice later on as to a few changes I would make.
Morning Jackie and Carol.
I leave Wednesday at noon and don't come back til Sunday. I will be sleeping in my brothers office, so I assume I'll be able to access the computer whenever I want so I should be checking in.
I have a lot of things I want to do this week and I have to prioritize.
I want to exercise today, but I need to make a run to the chiropractor more importantly.
I want to paint my toenails Tuesday, but I need to get the pies made first.
I want to get GF another gift just because I love her (she already has two), but I need to finish wrapping the ones I already have first.
So, prioritizing what's REALLY important and deciding between my wants and needs so I'm not a crazed person...well, not more crazed than I normally am !!!
Meals are packed for today. Chiro is on the docket, and if time allows, a jaunt to the gym to do my PT if nothing else would be great. If time allows.
7am 3eggs, 2lc toast with PB
11am lc goulash, 4stalks celery, 1piece Pumpkin pie
2:30pm 1oz nuts, 1iced latte
5:30pm 6.5oz pork chop, 1cup green beans
Pro: 138
Ecc: 38
Fat: 135.5
Cal: 2044
I may add 2 sf popsicles later on which would add 2 or 4 carbs (depending on which popsicles) to my total counts.
Check back later!
Okay...as I eat another piece of lc pumpkin pie I have something to say...
YUMMY-YUM-YUM!!
I read that it's better after a day or two and I didn't understand how that could be...but I'm here to say that IT IS TRUE!!
I made it Saturday morning. It was good last night, but today it's REALLY good!
I'm going to make the pie for thanksgiving TONIGHT and just let it chill into the fridge until Thursday! YUMMMMM

With a lot of things, the flavor develops over time. My chili (and many) are actually better after a night in the fridge. The chemistry continues beyond the cook time and new flavor compounds continue to develop...

I might actually be beyond this.
I am my own person. I am my wife's. I might belong to my family as well, but at some point, they are gonna have to love me or leave me. Long winded, opinionated, low carbing, squating, protein shake drinking, tennis playing, contrarian that I am, I'm not going to change because someone thinks I should. They are gonna have to do an intervention to get that done and really, I don't think there is the collective force of will to get that done. 17% of my bodyweight gone is a strong counter argument. A solid recession proof job is a nice counter argument as well.

We used to use the phrase "You're not getting older, you're getting better" at work, back when it was newer. Then we'd add "...like fine goulash!"

You're right and you know it.
Amy, that does sound really really good!
I don't think I put my food plan on today, so this is after the fact:
Breakfast: Strawberry cream shake
Lunch: Sausage patties and a mini V-8, plus some Lindt
Dinner: Cheeseburger seasoned with Montreal Steak Seasoning. Got some bite to it! :D

Slow Monday around here (me included!). Ended up on-plan with 76 Pr and 53 ECC.
Amy, does the pecan pie crust hold up or crumble apart? I'm thinking of possibly using your recipe but with KevinPA's pie crust. Perhaps sprinkle some pecans before putting in the filling.
Since it's a sugar-nut crust, they just stick to the pie, so I suppose I'd say yes, it holds up.
The slight sweet crunch really added a LOT to the traditional pumpkin pie flavor.
And this is coming from someone who LOVES traditional pie crust!

Agree with Lynn here. Profound statement and Oh So TRUE!! This T-day will be challenging as we are going to see the inlaws. Not that they are the issue but we have elder care issues that will be coming forth this weekend. Not good, but necessary. And I'm likely to be heads down in the soda crackers (my vice at my MILs).
So, Carol, how did you move beyond those judgmental folks?

You just quite GIVING A DAMN! Seriously. You just stop worrying yourself over THIER opinion or judgement. If they don't get it, you, by now, it's THEIR problem. If they can't get over it and accept you just the way you are it's THEIR problem. I quit trying so hard, I quit walking on egg shells, and I stopped fussing about it.

So, Carol, how did you move beyond those judgmental folks?Beth, most of them are gone now, but I grabbed an attitude I learned in OA. Instead of reacting I would think, "This is a sick person, how can I help her/him?" It became their problem rather than mine. Non-committal answers also helped. ;) Don't give them any ammo!

I quit trying so hard, I quit walking on egg shells, and I stopped fussing about it. I just realized that we both handed back the problem in our own ways. That must be the key, Lynn.
