The Eades sell Immunopro whey. How do you use this if you do?

I used to drink milk all my life before low carb. I drank an Atkins pre-packaged shake the other day and it upset my stomach. It growled for hours. I won't do that again. Anyway, what about the whey? I don't use any type of drinks at this time, just whole food.

Hello, Bill.

I don't use Immunopro. But, I use a similar product.

I usually just make a simple protein shake with it - as a snack or for breakfast to go.

A few of my typical recipes are:

option #1

- a little, unsweetened vanilla almond milk or a combination of water and heavy cream
- a dash of cinnamon
- a dash of stevia, the natural, no-calorie sweetener
- a scoop or two of whey protein powder

option #2

- a combination of water and heavy cream
- instant coffee
- a dash of stevia
- a scoop or two of whey protein

I typically mix this in a small, plastic shaker cup. Easy to make and easy to clean up.

PS - I find that I can digest whey protein better than many dairy products.

I hope this helps.

I use Optimum Nutrition Any Whey in various ways to boost protein to what I need per meal. As shakes, of course. Also stirred into LC cereals and added to low carb baked recipes. I don't know if the one marketed by the Eades is heat stable, so you might want to check on that before using it in foods that need heating. I mix it with peanut butter and dip balls into dark chocolate for a mock Reeces peanut butter cup. Great for a treat.

I use Any Whey, too. My favorite is to use a cup of chocolate Calorie Countdown milk, a couple of tablespoons of ricotta, and two scoops of protein powder. That holds me all morning.

I'm into Isopure no carb whey powder, one scoop. Then two scoops Flax meal, water and heavy cream, vanilla extract, liquid stevia and a teaspoon of cinnammon. Great anytime. I usually have one for breakfast and sometimes as an evening meal now that I'm no longer hungry all the time. With ice, it comes out a creammy shake!

I have a smoothie every morning with protein powder. Jay Robb's is my all-time favorite, but it's a bit pricey. I am now using Body Tech 24 from the Vitamin Shoppe. I use a cup of Almond Breeze (either Chocolate or Vanilla) a T of flaxseed oil, 1 scoop of protein powder and some Davinci's. Sometimes I add a raw egg. I have added berries, cream, and cottage cheese in the summer with the whey powder. It fills me up until lunch and its a great source of protein. I also have some Atkins shakes, but I only use those as an emergency.

I use unflavored isolate whey and add jello no cals and no carbs to add flavor, this way it saves 50 cals over the flavored type.

Sounds super! Give me an idea of how much peanut butter you use...I make my own cus storebought here is a fortune. What are the ratios of Pnut butter to whey? Thankx

Two scoops vanilla whey powder, two raw eggs, frozen straberries & coconut milk, quite filling!

In the past I used Pro-Optimal Vanilla with a raw egg, some half-n-half and water, sometimes add teaspoon coconut oil or some ricotta, ice, whiz in a blender. I've tried the pro-optimal chocolate but I'm not so fond of the over-sweet fake sweetener taste it has. The vanilla is very low sweetness, which is my preference.

Recently, I've been turned onto Supreme Protein Powder by David Allen in California - it's "designer" whey by a nutritionist there. I get the cookies and cream flavor.

We learned to use canned coconut milk - 1/4 cup - the rest cold water and a couple ice cubes and dash of cinnamon. This makes a nice fluffy shake in the blender that has fat to balance the 27g protein it provides. Yum!

Anybody use a whey powder that is NOT artificially sweetened? (I've Googled it and the choices are overwhelming, so I wanted to know if anyone had a suggestion.) I don't even mind if it has a few more carbs; I just don't enjoy artificial sweeteners. Thanks!

TiF - I buy my protein from www.proteinfactory.com. The only additive I ever get is aminogen (which is to help with it not clumping, or something). There are many types to chose from - I personally use a mix of whey/milk protein concentrate. You just go to their "Lab" and create any kind of mix you want. HTH :).
