I'm doing it!!! I am!!!

We're having a fire in the backyard tonight, and realistically I plan on drinking about 15oz of red wine, but I'm accounting for it in my numbers during the day. I know I shouldn't load up my carbs for one sitting, but as long as I stay within my number range, it still works for me.

7am 3eggs, 2sausage, 1lc toast
11:30am lc goulash, 4celery stalks, 1pickle spear (quarter)
2:30 iced latte, 2turkey sticks
5:30 wendy's burger, 1/2 bun, caesar salad (NO CROUTONS)
7pm 15oz red wine

Pro: 121
Ecc: 45
Fat: 141
Cal: 2307

I'm leaving now to go get my car, which is a 1mile walk...so I am getting SOME exercise today.

Hello, Hawk :). I've just been out to do the shopping to get me set up for doing it right for the next week, and there are two pots of stock simmering away in the kitchen. I'm suddenly using more stock again now we're moving into soup and stew weather.

Hey .. seriously ...My right leg feels like it got crushed in a press of some kind this morning. After sleeping all night and not moving it, the blood flow is slow. My right leg feels colder than the left leg. I've had my coffee and my ADHD brain cells are beginning to let me know what day it is and who I am. So it's time to go punish my leg for being in pain. It's in pain because my sympathetic nerves are telling the bloodflow to slow down and the pain receptors are going crazy to keep me from injuring it. Well. It is part of my body and it needs to get with the program... So I am off to the bike and then the leg machines. If I work it out till I can barely take the stairs down at the YMCA and it bounces up and down on the accelerator on the way home, it will be warm and the pain will subside..

This is an example of what I have to tell myself each day. Do any of you self talk to your body or brain? Someday I hope my brain will automatically want to do this. For now, everyday I still have to talk myself into it.

I saw a beautiful picture this morning of some carbage..I will not discribe it so you won't also be tempted..and I wanted it. SO I talked myself into some eggs and drank some coffee and the craving went away. I had to remind myself that the carbs were poison to my body. Why do I still have to do that??

Good morning, all. When I worked outside the home, I remember what a relief it was every week to get to Friday. And what a real treat it was to find a job with a four day week -- felt like I was on holiday every week.

Hawk and Carol, thanks for your comments yesterday. Hawk, I try to keep my electrolytes in balance as that does affect the tachy--expecially potassium and magnesium. Nothing had changed in my diet or supplements, so I think it was due to stress. I am partially retired and depend on an IRA for part of my income--I lost almost 40% the past couple of weeks, and I allowed myself to fear. Then I remembered Who is in charge around here, and it ain't me, so the stress levels are receding. Blood sugars still high, but as Carol knows, that's a cycle diabetics have to live with. This too shall pass.

On target foodwise. Had a wonderful crisp and juicy half apple yesterday with Lavish bread crackers and brie cheese and a glass of wine -- what a treat. Will have a reprisal today to finish the apple. It's wonderful now I can consider red wine is medicinal -- great excuse to inbibe! :D

Today's food plan is flax bread for brekkie, fresh caught bass with vegetable medley and a square of dark chocolate for lunch , apple/cheese/wine for dinner, and inbetween a handful of almonds and kefir. And some folks thing this WOE is difficult!

Have a great day, everyone!

Morning all!

Already up and out this morning because I had to take my dog up to the groomer. Looking forward to having a new and improved version of him later on! While he's gone I'll wash his beds and do some extra vacuuming so we start fresh.

I'm going to make myself some scrambled eggs with a little bit of cheese and then head off to the gym, the grocery and the butcher. Friday night is a special night in our house because DH and I finally have a chance to catch our breath from the week. He hangs out in the kitchen with me while I make dinner and we drink wine and talk. He's been out of town for the last couple of days, so I'll be glad to see him.

Hawk...Thanks for the great words to start us off! I don't necessarily talk to my body, but there are times when I'm working out that I have to remind myself to summon up that last bit of energy and not to settle for just getting by.

Amy...You should have a gorgeous night for a fire. The moon was really bright last night. Nothing like the smell of a fire on a fall night.

Everyone have a great day!

Kim

Amy, what kind of wine do you drink? What is your favorite> brand and type.

Fransican Cab is my all time favorite wine (today anyway ).
If I stick with Cabernet Savignon's or Syrah's I'm usually happy.

My boss is a wine-er and he hosts wine parties sometimes and lets us try his $500 + bottles of wine...
MAN, price really CAN matter in a wine...
They're so smooth and no bitter after-shocks...just smooth and tasty...
MMmmm

BUT, with my budget, I stick with the $10 bottles. I like to go to the wine stores when they're having their sales and choose bottles that are normally $25 but are on sale for $10. Last weekend we drank something called "3 Blind Moose" in honor of my SIL's visit (who loves Moose). It was actually quite yummy, especially for $8.99!

We hope so! It's suppose to get down to 54, but not until we are tucked into our beds. High today is 70ish so it will be PERFECT for a fire...and you're right, the smell is DIVINE!!
Kim...drive on over/up and join us!!

Hey ...Another day on the planet...Another day of doing it right. Another day towards health and looking great. Let's DO it.:DYou betcha, Hawk! I'm doin'!

...and there are two pots of stock simmering away in the kitchen. I'm suddenly using more stock again now we're moving into soup and stew weather. That's the way I've been feeling, too. Weather gets wet and gloomy and I start making soups. I made chicken and noodle last week and a wonderful beef with a tomato base and zucchini and carrots. No bones with that one, but it was really good.

Then I remembered Who is in charge around here, and it ain't me, so the stress levels are receding. Blood sugars still high, but as Carol knows, that's a cycle diabetics have to live with. This too shall pass. Right you are! I think I need to be more diligent about meditation. I didn't want to think stress was playing a role in my fbs, but with all the bad news on the TV I feel like a news junkie. I used to be one, but I can't live like that any more.

BC, your menu sounds divine. I get into a rut because it's easy, but it get's boring.

We had a baby beagle in the office this morning. So sweet!

Amy, have fun at your fire. This sounds as if it might be the last great weekend. I put my order in for this weather and it's supposed to last until mid-December. We'll see how well the weatherman listened. ;)

I always get upset with myself for forgetting this - but I guess like so many other things we just need to remind ourselves and get back on the program.

Amy, a fire sounds wonderful. It looks a bit stormy here on the Western Slope of Colorado. Definitely not a repeat of yesterday's beautiful weather.

Breakfast was two eggs and some corned beef
Lunch will be a hamburger patty w/cheese, and probably a protein pudding.
Supper is pork chops with a salad and veggies

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Jut got back from the golf course .... nothing, absolutely nothing ... beats a nice round of golf. It was cold this morning ... started out at about 45 degrees ... it's about 55 now. We're expecting SNOW here in the SLC valley. I am NOT ready for snow.... not yet.

Lunch was Malibu chicken ... dinner will be hamburger patties!

We're expecting SNOW here in the SLC valley. I am NOT ready for snow.... not yet.I had a friend who had a sign that said a bad day on the golf course was better than a good day at work. Somebody famous once said it was a good walk spoiled. Unfortunately, I've never learned how to play it with grace. :p No, you don't deserve snow already! :paranoid:

My day was mostly good but ended up with an uncomfortable confrontation with a group of women who did NOT want to be told they made a procedural error. I was just the messenger in this case, so I didn't take it personally.

Breakfast was a protein shake, but by 9:30 I was hungry so I ate some meat that I had handy. I was able to get a great caesar salad for lunch and had some greek yogurt and a small apple when I got home. The apple probably put me over in carbs.

Planning on a weekend trip, but I'll probably check in tomorrow.

I know Max! Golfing is NOT what you do for fun ... however, for those of us that like the land and water waste known as Golf! There's never a bad day to golf ...:nod:

Had a WONDERFUL evening in front of the fire.
Upped my protein...I think I was so hungry this afternoon because I wasn't eating enough protein for the activity I have been doing. (long fast walks)

Fires are good -- we've built a natural gas firepit in our back yard. It's great! Especially on chilly nights!
