I've been a lurker here for a long time and figure I may as well register; I'm registered at every other forum out there. :)

I recently celebrated my four year Eades-iversary. http://www.planet-smilies.de/essen/essen_026.gif Low carb eating not only got rid of my excess weight, but solved the more serious problems that I never would have believed were associated with eating good ol' pasta, cereal and skim milk like "they" tell you to eat. The depression with which I've struggled since I was a teenager is virtually gone, my family-curse acne is likewise nearly gone, I'm no longer perpetually cold and tired the way I was eating low fat (shudder), and overall, I feel fantastic.

I've read lots of different LC books, but PPLP is the one that resonates with the most truth for me. I really appreciate the Eadeses' blogs and their philosophy toward studies and other new information: they sufficiently support their theories, but aren't afraid to acknowledge when it really isn't clear; nor do they flip-flop every time there's one mouse study that demonstrates (whatever).

I think that's it for now... good health and good eating to everyone.

Hi Kristine! :D

Welcome to our board!! I've registured with one other low carb board that PP is under the big umbrella of "low carb" diets...and well, it's soooooo BUSY and BIG with activity..yet, not so much for "PP" woe, that when I found this site..and found out that it's brand new...and filled with such bright intelligent members that have had YEARS of success...and sponsered BY the Eades's...well..I knew I couldn't go wrong!!!

I'm a NEWBIE, and it seems that quite often when other "new" members join this board, yet have explained their years of success...well, my jaw drops each time!!! That is soooooooo COOL and so inspirational to me!!!

Anyways, thanks for joining! I'm glad you here!!! Congratulations on your success!

Welcome aboard!

The depression with which I've struggled since I was a teenager is virtually gone

The same is true for me, although sprouted or sourdough grain products don't cause me any problems at all.

Glad to have you on board! I was on PP when it first came in ('98, I think), then stupidly fell away and came "back home" last June. I had to confess I haven't done as well as I did the first time -- for some reason just can't seem to stay on plan consistently, but I figure any effort is better than none. I look forward to hearing of your experience and expertise with the PPLP way of life.

And I agree with you about the Eades -- they have crafted a great eating plan and certainly keep up to date on new developments plus both of their blogs are so informative.
