New to the forum, been lurking and finally decided to say something. Kind of shy guy. i have been eating low carb to control blood sugar, I do not need to lose anymore weight after a 35 pound weight lose.

Just had cholesterol done:

total: 180
HDL: 42
LDL: 123
Tri: 70

I personally think this is ok as from what I have read the presence of low Tri's means that i most likely have the large LDL particles (I think that is right). Anyone out there no for sure?

Also, my A1C has been 5.4 for the last 2 tests without any meds. It was 6.4 so the program is working great for that.

Thanks in advance,

Dennis

Welcome to the Board -- please come and post often.

Congratulations on the great numbers -- both lipids and A1c. If you'll go to the sticky at the top of this section, you'll see how to run your ratios. Looks like your will be great.

And yes, in a blog a few months ago, Dr. Mike stated that low tri is a good indicator of the larger LDL particles.
