Good morning! It's a beautiful fall day in Michigan. I'm wearing the long jeans for the first time in weeks! Nowhere to go today, so I'm forced to resort to decluttering and cleaning. :peeved: I'd better do it today because the grandblessing will be here tomorrow and NOTHING gets done!:D
I'm on my second cup of coffee (hazelnut cinnamon) and haven't had breakfast yet. I've got eggs and sausage, also leftover pork roast from last night's dinner.
How are you spending the weekend?

It was nice this morning, but it's raining again now. I went to the farmers market and stocked up on meat and leaves :). No eggs, though, because all the yucky weather has convinced the chickens that it's winter, so they've stopped laying. I wonder why the supermarket "organic free range" ones don't have the same problem?

Good question! :suspicious: Do they import them from another part of the country? That doesn't seem likely...

Carol, I guess it's a beautiful day because you're too far west of Hanna! It's pouring here; we have a wind advisory and a flood watch going.
Dean and I went to a SPCA Pancake "Barkfest" this morning. I had one pancake, SF syrup, and a bunch of sausage. Then we went over to the kennels and checked out the cats and dogs. I'm grateful for the good care the animals get, but it breaks my heart that they don't have homes...guess I can't take them all home with me.
So, now I need to get some lunch. I think I'll make some homemade ham salad (a current craving of mine). I can make it almost carb free, unlike the deli stuff, so that sounds like a plan to me. Then it's trying to figure out menus for the week and shopping, since I'm into my "no free evenings" schedule.
Have a good weekend, everyone...everyone...hey, where is everyone?

20% of your challenge is over come Midnight Saturday. How goes it?
I have completed 25%. Tennis lesson was a good time. I am curious about taking this up full time. What would it cost to join this very nice facility within long walking distance of my home?

Good evening, folks!
I took myself shopping at Kohl's today. I didn't end up with much (a few new tops), but it was fun to shop for a new size. :D
Food on plan today.
Gotta get a kid in the shower...gotta go already!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend. :)

Kudos on the new size, Tresses!
I was just about to wash the bathroom floor when my sister called and invited me to go with her and Mom to the mall. It was an offer I couldn't refuse. I found a couple of new tops too. I'm in-between sizes, which is a pain. I had to try on two of everything. :p
We went out for dinner and I had a small steak with two grilled veggie skewers. Very good stuff!
Max, I'm doing well on the extras and I'm thinking about adding a new one for next week. I'm going to say I will be in bed by 10:30 this week, but that's a hard one for me.
Back from the BWCA. It was not our best trip. We went JUST to fish...and only caught ONE big enough to keep, and he was BARELY big enough! But it was really nice weather (cool and partly cloudy). We had one night that it rained all night. I LOVE sleeping out in a tent while it raining. I think we slept 10 hours each night. I suppose some of it has to do with the fact that we wake and roll over a lot, so we sleep longer than normal, but our hours while we're out there are "head to the tent at 8:30 then read until about 9:30" then "get up at 8:30am"...so 12 hours ON and 12 hours OFF.
The best part of the trip?? On the way to the BWCA, on the gravel road right before the lake, we FINALLY saw the Northern Lights!! They weren't very colorful, but the way the lights move was AMAZING!!
So, even though the fishing was terrible, the Northern Lights made the trip worth it! Now I'm going to go to sleep, in my soft comfy warm bed, surrounded by cats that are THRILLED to have us home!

I'm having a fairly lazy weekend--low energy. Have lots that need to get done, but it's not being done by me. Tried a new recipe yesterday, so I'm on-plan for the "extra" this week. Need to decide if I'm going to continue recipes for the next week or something else. My creative juices are not running well right now, so will decide later today.
On-track as far as food goes, but am lagging behind a bit in exercise. Since the weather has cooled off to the low-90's during the day, I think I'll go out to the State Park after church and hike around a bit. Perhaps that will energize me.

Good Morning everyone! Sunday morning here .... and I thought I would check in. I didn't get a chance to yesterday, I was playing in that golf tournament yesterday. It was a 4-man scramble format ... Our team won it all ... Laying off from the gym the past couple of days helped with my golf game. I'll have to remember that next time too.
As far as it being 20% of the month gone by -- I think I'm close if not right on for my 20% too.
Today will hopefully be a lazy Sunday. I did just get back from the gym, so I'm counting on the rest of the day being very relaxing!

Welcome back, Amy and Dean! Amy, I'm glad you finally saw the northern lights! I see them from here once in a while. Dean, congrats on the golf game!
I'm just now eating my breakfast. I forgot before church! It's trying to be a nice day, but autumn-like clouds are rolling in. I've got rugs drying out on the deck railing, so I hope I get lucky here.
Brunch is a bunless burger flavored with parm and Montreal Steak. Dinner might be another one unless I get to the grocery store today, which is unlikely.
Woke up and read three days of newspapers about the RNC...since I can't discuss it without ranting, you'll have to visit my journal if you care about my opinion.
BelfryBat, did you say low 90s?? It's darn right COLD here...50 degrees and very damp! I'm SO glad I'm not camping in this. YEsterday as we fished/canoed our way back to the dock, I was wearing long underwear, rain pants, a long sleeve running shirt, and a rain jacket...and my fingers were still numb. I'm glad it was only cold that day. It wasn't even that cold on the evening it rained on us.
BUT, because it's so cold, I'm going to make an alfredo lasagna for my lunches next week - get the oven going. Maybe I'll be ambitious and make some cookies for GF and I to take to our coworkers?? MAYBE.
I don't eat cookies, so they're never anything I even worry about having to NEAN.
Have a great Sunday everyone!

Yes -- 93 was the official temp yesterday, but it was a bit warmer here at the hermitage and today was about the same. BUT the nights are cooling off now. This morning was 64 -- downright chilly.
I went to the State Park a few miles from here after church and hiked around the "lake" -- more like a large stock tank. It's not much of a park, but better for hiking than the county road I live on. Then home to watch two Star Trek movies I had checked out of the library. I live such an exciting life!:lol:
Alfredo lasagna sounds heavenly. Is your recipe in the recipe section? If not, how about sharing it?

No real recipe...
I use 2lbs ground beef cooked
1 jar cheesy ragu alfredo sauce (it's the lowest carbs I can find)
2servings dreamfields
2cans mushrooms
4oz cheese
layer all and bake until cheese is melted and center is hot. Maybe 45 minutes.
It makes 8 servings and is about (I'm estimating, but can give you actuals if you want) 35g protein and 4ecc.
Alfredo sauce is lower in carbs than a red pasta sauce, so anything that asks for a red sauce, I just use alfredo instead.
BTW, my grocery stores stopped selling dreamfields lasagna noodles??!! I had to make a "bake" instead of a lasagna. Anyone else losing their lasagna? They have all the rest of the shapes of noodles...I wonder if it's just because people in MN don't bake lasagna in the summer months, so maybe it will come back now that it's cooler??
I fell off plan today...cleaned up some food items around the house.
But now I only have lc stuff in the house, and meals are cooked for the week! I LOVE it that way!

Amy, have you ever heard of Sisters on the Fly? I ran across their website one day when I was searching for parts for my own vintage trailer...

I think I should work on my martini badge first... ;)
