What are your plans for having a good, on plan weekend?
I've just bought lamb, beef and duck livers from the farmers market, as well as a bag full of assorted veggies. We'll have some of the tomatoes with mozzarella for lunch. Tonight, I think we'll finish up the pork that I braised earlier in the week.
Socially, we're not doing much - just enjoying being at home together on our own in between sets of visitors.
How's your weekend looking?

What a quiet board today!
Although it's a holiday weekend, we really have nothing special planned. My husband is helping at the Labor Day trap shoot in Delta. So he'll be busy most of the weekend (I guess maybe he thinks that's special):D:lol:
For me, just tinkering around the house, making sure I stay on plan. I do plan to experiment with making some sugar-free popsicles. Wish me luck.
I have enjoyed my weekend so far.
Last night we had dinner with friend and then watched the movie 21. it was good (dinner was prime rib!!!).
today we slept in and I have been watching season 1 of Hotel Babylon...GREAT show!
I mowed, and now I'm having popsicles enjoying the Monarch butterflies who are enjoying our Xienna's.
We have no plans for today, and tomorrow we're visiting the state fair again. Monday is prep day for the week. We work Tues and Wed, but then we're off to the BWCA again for 4 days of fishing and relaxing. No tv, no computer. It will be very nice. Pray for sunny weather!

Just got back from work. Now to stuff the face and go do the Saturday thing ...

Hello folks!
Quiet around here this weekend. (The board and my house.) Sent my "big" clothes to Goodwill today. :D I woke up this morning another pound down to 136.
Not much going on, otherwise. I kind of like it that way for a change. ;)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :)
WOOHOO Tresses!! That's WONDERFUL news!!
I'm doing some banking for my non-profit this morning, then we're heading over to the state fair for the last time. I'm hungry...probably not the best place to be before we go over there, but I have really spent time researching what is low carb, and there are a lot of options!
I am going there without a specific PLAN, but I'll do my best...I don't WANT to keep gaining and losing the same pounds...wish me luck!!

I'm back from a pre-birthday trip to Austin and Bastrop. Bastrop is one of the oldest Texas towns and is a delightful place. All kinds of antique stores, lovely park on the river, and great food. The farmers market was also a nice surprise. Besides fresh veggies, several booths had goat milk products, home-canned goodies, and even homemade soap. I ate two planned nonPP meals but tried not to have an all-out carb fest. The real treat was chicken fried steak. It was probably the best chicken fried steak I've ever eaten. Even the fries were excellent -- they were super crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. I forgot to ask if they were fried in lard, but they sure tasted like fries used to taste before the fat police took over 20 or so years ago. It was hard to stick to just a few, but I did. Had to leave room for sugar-free cheesecake for dessert at another place.
I am now back on plan and will do a couple of recovery days to lose the added water. I'm enjoying a quiet Sunday morning before I get geared up for church. Hope everyone has a great rest of the holiday weekend.

Hello everyone,
just a quick hello to let you know i am still around. I am having a nice weekend. last night met some friends and cut a rug to some 80's tunes, today we will make the monthly pilgrimage to Trader Joe's and then i will drive to seattle to spend time with a friend maybe get some dinner with her. hubby has been in germany for the last 3 weeks and i am ready for him to come back home. school starts on the 3rd. i got a highschooler this year and a 5th grader. my older son spend the weekend in seattle with friends where he also went to the PAX convention (some gamer stuff). big learing experience for me as he is type 1 diabetic on a pump and i have to not mother hen him but its hard not to. at 15 he doesnot worry abt this diabetes too much and forgets. grrrrrr. not good. so i have to find this balance between supporting him but not doing it for him. well its a learing process.
i learned that my half grown cats (Calvin and Hobbes) are fond of my low carb german pancakes and that Hobbes loves licking pickle juice. lol. I doctored with a german pancake recipe this morning and it turned out wonderful. moist and fluffy and buttery. ok this is it for me. no weight loss holding steady and i am not unhappy with that. i know what is stopping me from losing and somehow my willingness to make that change is not there. so i am waiting and working on my willingness, maybe i just have to wait and be patient. greetings to all and PP IS the way to go.

Good Afternoon everyone ... Nice, quiet Sunday! DW and I went to the gym this morning. Back and Triceps .... 30 minutes Cardio. Great workout! Now it's just relaxing for the rest of the day. My College team (University of Utah) beat Michigan yesterday -- So I'm happy http://utahutes.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/recaps/083008aaa.html
The gym is open as normal tomorrow, so I'll get up and go (around 8ish) don't have to work...so I might as well enjoy another day off!

Hi all,
I'm back here after a week or so off because I was sick (just a bad cold, but I didn't feel like doing much).
My weekend plan is pretty quiet, so I decided to have a home spa weekend. I'm working out, stretching, walking by the lake, cooking and eating well, and doing girlie spa things (nails, facial, etc.)
I also visited a new gym that's very close to my house and signed up for a free 10-day pass. I get a membership in the awesome university fitness center for free (with paid tuition), but it's not very convenient and closed sometimes when I want to work out (like ALL this weekend -- Sat-Sun-Mon :( ). A free membership that I never use is not a good thing. The new gym is open 24/7, so I'm psyched to try it out later today. If all works out well, I'll probably join.

Hello. Last night was emergency counseling for my dentist who has developed metabolic syndrome. I set him straight and he'll be starting PP as soon as his renal testing comes in. Went into San Juan today from my mountain home. Temp was 87 there, I was glad to come back to a comfortable 72. Lost two more lbs. Now 182 from an initial 220 when I recomitted. Had chicken breast and salad/mineral water at my mom's. Tonight It's hamburger with "cheese puff" bread. Too good to be true. And no hunger!! Good luck.

Hey, thanks, Dean (if I remember your name correctly.) I have to say that your regular gym workouts inspired me to try the new gym.

You got my name perfect.... I'm glad that you've found a good gym, that is so important as a motivator to go workout! I have equipment at home ... but it just sits here. So -- I found a good gym and I go 6 days a week. And, more importantly, I ENJOY going!:)

Quiet around here this weekend. (The board and my house.) Sent my "big" clothes to Goodwill today. :D I woke up this morning another pound down to 136. :eek:What fun, Tresses! I'll second Amy's WooHoo! And the end-of-season sales are still on!
I am going there without a specific PLAN, but I'll do my best...I don't WANT to keep gaining and losing the same pounds...wish me luck!!Good luck, belatedly, Amy! How did it turn out?

The farmers market was also a nice surprise. Besides fresh veggies, several booths had goat milk products, home-canned goodies, and even homemade soap. That sounds beautiful, BC. Happy birthday!

Keep up the good attitude. You'll be presented with a reason.

The new gym is open 24/7, so I'm psyched to try it out later today. If all works out well, I'll probably join. That's the kind I joined and it makes all the difference to me. I could never get into the "Y" when it was convenient for ME and I paid them a very healthy membership fee. My new one is $35/month.

I guess I'll have to try the "cheese puff" thing; you make it sound so good!
Karole, I'm happy to see your new avatar. :) It's so nice to "see" you, finally!
I'm back from a relaxing trip and ready to get back to work. I slept in this morning and I don't care! I've got my coffee beside me and I'm going to go check out the September challenge... :)

Sandy, I have to admit that that would translate to a peaceful weekend for me to putter around in! ;)
Ditto that. Though that doesn't apply so much now that I'm home all the time. It used to be nice to occasionally have time at home all to myself.:D
