Happy 4th of July!
As a non-American, I celebrate with y'all. Freedom is an amazing gift no one should take lightly. We are so bless in this country to be able to do what you want to do. The liberties that this country offers facilitates people to reach their goals and live their dreams. There is nothing more satisfying then reaping the benefits of gettin' 'er done!
A big Fireworks Salute to all those who have worked to protect the freedoms of this country and to maintain it.
A big 3 cheers for all of us that get to reap the benefits!
HUGS, Hoots and Hollers to and for everyone today!
May this day only bring you closer to your goal and dreams!
Happy 4th to YOU Feelix!! I forget where you hail from though...England?? I can't remember...
THE PARTY LAST NIGHT WAS SUCH A SUCCESS!!!!!! 19 people, lots of food, fun, frivolity...the Saints (the baseball team) lost terribly, but we dind't care, we were having a ball.
I didn't even care that we had NINE different kinds of potatoe salad !! I ate my hot dogs (2 dogs, 1lc bun) and some broccoli slaw, and then had half an order of cheese curds in the game.
When we got home at 10:30, I was hungry again, so I had another 2 dogs, no bun, but 5 bites of potatoe salad. We ended up taking two p-salads home, so I tasted one, and said yuck-threw it away (it was a store bought). The other kind was homemade and GF liked it, so I tasted it a couple times as we tried to figure out the "different" flavor it had, and now it's in the fridge for her to eat. NOT ME, just her. It didn't taste bad, but it wasn't anything I want to give my carbs up for, so let it sit in the fridge, I don't care.
Anyway...HUGE success!!!!
For our three day weekend, we have a list of about 10 chores we want to get done, but we want to make sure and have LOTS of down time! We're going to see Young@Heart (http://www.foxsearchlight.com/youngatheart/) this weekend. And Saturday we're going to watch some fireworks then go dancing. Our biggest struggle will be to keep the pets from waking us at 5am which is when they want to go outside!! This morning they woke us 4 different times...:peeved:...we were NOT happy!!! So, we're up at 6:30...:(.
I need to plan my meals today. Just because I don't have my routine of WORK doesn't mean it's a free-for-all. OH, speaking of free-for-all, I saw Kozy shacks were on sale so I looked and they have this new "cherry jubilee" pudding. It's pretty darn good (but once I'm done eating the entire serving, then I get that weird fake sugar aftertaste). My struggle is that I don't need one after every meal, and I ONLY need ONE when I do eat it. I'm such a food addict.
So...back to planning my meals.
9am 2eggs, 3oz spam, 1lc toast, 1/2c OJ
12:30 salad with lc goulash
3pm (at the movie) almonds, string cheese
6:30pm chicken sausages, 1lc bun, broccoli slaw
My plan is light on calories and protein, so if I add something like CHEESE or WINE, it won't be bad (unless I add LOTS!!)

Happy Fourth to everyone!
We went to the fireworks in Dayton last night. Beautiful! The weather is cold and rainy--not very fourth-ish.
Started today off better than yesterday. My husband and I went over to Cracker Barrel instead of eating the free carb-fest they call continental breakfast. I had bacon and sausage, a couple of tomato slices and one biscuit--still higher than usual on carbs, but a lot better than waffles, gravy/biscuits, syrup, etc. I plan to do better at my cousin's house today as well.
More fireworks tonight here in town. My cousin's husband is on the fireworks crew (he worked on the ones in Dayton last night as well). Between all of the family and the 4th of July party, it should be a great day!

Good morning everyone! I'm on my own for the weekend. DH drove off at 6:30 so I rolled over and snoozed until the phone rang. It was my stepson in TX and we managed to talk for almost two hours!
I'm drinking coffee and I plan to make bacon and eggs, which will be more like brunch by the time I get it done. I rarely have the luxury of making that kind of breakfast.
No plans for any celebrations today, but I have a to-do list almost as long as my arm. I'm not expecting to get everything done, but it will help me focus. This is the last weekend before I head up north for vacation and I need to have a list.

Happy 4th!
It's a quiet, normal day here, but we're off for a few days with my parents in the morning. I may get online if my father and my husband aren't hogging the computer ;). (Since it does actually belong to my father, I don't feel I can complain too much if he wants to use it sometimes.)

It sounds as though they might gang up on you when they're together. :paranoid: :)
Not much getting done today. I've moved the computer desk back out of the living room where it didn't work at all, logistically, and spent an inordinate amount of time subduing the cords so they aren't such a visible tangle. I gave DS a cooking lesson in the fine art of bacon and eggs. I impressed him by showing him how to season the eggs with fines herbs (tumeric, onion and basil). Now I'm going to bring down the ironing board and press the curtains before I hang them back up in the living room. The brackets and rods have been up for a few days. I love puttering!
It's rather nice not to have to stop and cook a regular meal. DS will be gone for the rest of the day on the brunch we had and I've got some nice tri-tips to make for my dinner later. Not getting any painting done, but I have two more days. :D :o

Happy 4th! Hope everyone is having a good time.
I spent the morning in the pool. Got in a little exercise, but mostly floated and flipped back and forth between being in the water and grilling lots of chicken. That's the most painless way to barbeque a lot of protein... mix it in with an outside activity. If I throw it on the grill and go inside, I forget it's out there or time it wrong and burn it.
I plan to spend the rest of the day being absolutely lazy. I think I'm going to try to put a big dent in the entire season of Pushing Daisies. I have it tivo'd and have never seen an episode. I hear it's very good.
amy... re: the fabulous cheese curls explanation from yesterday...
Thanks! I had no idea! From the looks of them, I'm glad we don't have them in L.A. :-)
