Have you heard me talk about the blueberry Crepes??

The person that created the recipes has now put them on a website for ease of finding! As of today 6/18/08, she is still building the site so it's not complete yet, but here it is.
http://www.examiner.com/x-355-Low-Carb-Examiner

Every recipe I have made off her website tasted great and worked out beautifully! Both of these recipes happen to be gluten free!

We had a thread about these here (http://www.proteinpower.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4620) a while back - in case there's any useful info there.

Thanks Mitra.
I suppose I should have linked to that thread...but this new examiner.com site is something she is just setting up to house all her recipes, so she said if there were links out there, we should adjust them to include her new site.

I also asked if she'd be open to adding our BB to her list of low carb BB's.

Cleochatra's blog (www.cleochatra.blogspot.com (http://www.cleochatra.blogspot.com)) is full of great recipies as well as good stories about her LC lifestyle. She's an Atkins follower and has had amazing progress this year.

Haven't tried Oopsies yet but am planning to.

But Cleo is moving her recipes over to the examiner.com (http://www.examiner.com/x-355-Low-Carb-Examiner) site and off of her blog.

You're right Amy. Hadn't been to her site since I returned from vacation but visited last night. She also has an RSS feed available from the Examiner's site.

Ammy

what does that mean? An RSS feed??

If you have an RSS reader like Google Reader (reader.google.com) then you can subscribe to feeds. That way instead of hitting 50 different websites, you can go to your feed site and see all the updates.

For instance, I have several low-carb blogs that I track with my reader. Many of the authors are nice enough to offer "full" feeds where you can see the full post from your reader without visiting the site. Dr. Mike even has full feeds which is very awesome.

Even partial feeds are nice if you don't want to constantly check the page for updates.

I use two RSS feed reader add-ons with Firefox. One is Sage, which I use for anything that I'm even vaguely interested in, and I go and read it if I'm bored. It doesn't do anything unless I tell it to. The other is called Brief, and I use it for the ones I'm really interested in. It checks every so often and notifies me if there's anything new.

I really love RSS feeds :)

Things I keep track of:
Web comic strips
Video game blogs
Funny stuff (LOLCats - http://icanhascheezburger.com/)
Google has several different blogs related to their products
Low-carb blogs & recipes
Headline news (don't usually read these stories, just skim the headlines)
Tech sites

A lot of sites don't offer feeds but a lot do. I am currently subscribed to 71 feeds though I do need to do some pruning as some of them don't update anymore.

Yes, thank you Spruce Goose for answering as I have been away from the board this week.

I do like RSS as it lets you know when there's new content on a site. Saves you from checking out the same sites day after day, hoping for something new.

Spruce, thanks for the reminder about the cats. That is a very funny site.

Back to topic, Cleochatra's been posting pretty much daily - love the recipes on the Examiner, but her blogspot page is tops for writing.

So...I recently "subscribed" to a blog and it shoots me an email whenever there is a new entry...that's an RSS Feed?

Spruce Goose

That's pretty similar actually.

Instead of an email, RSS feeds just downloads into an RSS reader. One benefit to the RSS is that you don't have to give anyone your email address. Your reader asks the site for the new feeds and grabs it.

Depending how much you care about the background you can read some of it at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS

It's quite addictive. I started out with a couple sites but kept adding more and more. It lets me read a lot more information in a shorter amount of time. It's always a balance between too many feeds and too few. My breaks at work only allow for so much reading :)

Google reader is a very good way to get into RSS feeds. It lets you put all of your blogs in one central place. I track all of these blogs all on one site. It makes it very easy to keep up with stuff you like, keep it all organized, keep it for future reference, etc, all without clogging up your bookmarks or your inbox:
