Good morning, Amy. Sorry about your long night. Knee pain?

I got a slow start this morning. Grandson got up at 6:45 and so did his dad and grandpa. Right when I was trying to get out the door, they were in my bathroom and in my kitchen! Talking to me and expecting an answer! Good thing THAT doesn't happen every day...

I am in a good mood, though, because the Woosh Fairy came and took away five pounds. That's ten since I quit the diabetes med. I have also been eating less protein, maybe less fat. Certainly less cheese and nuts because I was out of almonds for at least three weeks. Coffee black. Whatever it was, I'm happy.

My gift today will be a stop at the gym tonight. It's been more than a week between extra-curricular stuff and illness.

Breakfast was a strawberry protein shake. Lunch will be three sausage patties. Dinner will be beef & vegetables. My morning bs is stable now, so I will go back to the breakfast shakes so that I can get my supps regularly.

Good morning, Amy. Sorry about your long night. Knee pain?

I wish!! Nah, fight with GF.
All has been resolved now. All was resolved at 1am...:peeved:
She acknowledged she screwed up.
I don't think we've ever had a fight that really was one-sided. I am very open to admitting I am/was wrong or at least my PART in stuff...But this time it wasn't me.

But, it lead to a night of not sleeping a lot...hate that!

1. SLEEP - This weekend did not provide me with quality sleep and so I slept last night but I woke up exhausted. I am lucky that I can break when needed and sleep.

3. Food - I'm back on track and feel good about it. Going to maintain staying on track!

4. Fun - I want to finish the journal I started making and do a little sewing. but I'm willing to be inspired!

Have a super Monday!

Good for you girls!!!!! You got it all settled. I know how it is ... fighting sure keeps the emotions going. At least it wasn't any physical pain.

Have a great day!

Nah...mostly it was the fact that she THOUGHT she was in trouble  so she got angry and fought back (to what???), then left and wouldn't talk to me.
I sought her out, said "I'm totally confused as to what just happened", then she said she didn't want to talk about it.
I was TOTALLY lost...

But our "fights" are not NEARLY the "fights" I've had with other GF's...so that just reinforced to me that she is the one...

And we're no good at staying mad at eachother.:)

I hope everyone who was looking for the German Pancake recipe knows that it is in the Kitchen section and under Pancake and Bowl Muffins. We just love it and it is so easy to make. We have been topping it with fruit and whipped cream. I also have been adding vanilla and splenda to the pancake mixture itself. It is also good with just some sf pancake syrup because their is always a little butter floating on top of it when it comes out of the oven. Like I said, if you have protein powder, eggs, cream, and butter - you have a German pancake and it is so pretty when it comes out of the oven all puffy. Oh - and it tastes wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!:nod:

Have a great day - everyone!

Good afternoon, everyone.

Amy, hope your day's going okay. No sleep can be a difficult way to start a week (I'm a great one to talk!).

Sharon, how eggy does the German pancake taste? I can tolerate the amount of eggs in my usual ricotta, protein powder, egg pancake. But any more than that would really get me (can't stand the taste or texture of eggs).

Carol, you totally rock! What an inspiration for all of us--you just stick with it day after day, and look at the results! Awesome!

Well, I spray painted some doors I'm installing on my test/worksheet cabinet at school so I can lock it up. I had some thievery at the end of the year that cost a few students a suspension and failing the last quarter, so I'm trying to prevent that happening again. I also arranged a flight for my BFF--her dad had a stroke this weekend while she was "vacationing" at his house in Florida, so she needed to change her flight home to give her more time to help her brother get some things done. It's unclear right now what her dad's capabilities will be. He'll almost certainly need to go to rehab and from there, who knows?

Now it's off to the grocery store and then I have some Powerpoint slides to create for the SAT prep class I'm teaching tomorrow.

Breakfast was Greek yogurt with a bit of Kashi in it.

I'll have lunch after the grocery store--probably a salami/provolone/spinach wrap.

We still have leftover hamburgers and hot dogs, so that'll likely be supper.

Have a profitable day!

Karole

Hi all, back once more so thought I'd better jump back in. I've read all the posts I missed while away, but just hadn't gotten around to posting til now. Did I say I had a lot of laudry and other things to catch up on??

First things first !! Carol, your news was absolutely great !! A nice big whoosh--good for you. I am so glad things are going well for you with your bs and that you have been able to eliminate the medicine. You really deserved a nice whoosh fairy visit.

It's so awful about all the flooding going on in the mid west right now. We had several friends at the trailride who are from Iowa and I wonder if they have even been able to get back to their homes yet. The weather this year is really something
and there just doesn't seem to be an end to it.

I did well with my eating while away, I did have a bit of extra water weight when I weighed Sat. a.m. but have lost it all now. I don't do any desserts or anything, but I know I do eat a lot more other carbs while there than I do at home.

It's good to be back home and to get back on here where all of you are, and find out what has been going on. I'll check in later. Byee

I'm back on track and feel good about it. Going to maintain staying on track! That's the attitude, Feelix. Go for it!

...you just stick with it day after day, and look at the results!Ruth, that's just the tip of the iceberg, you know. I had a very long dry spell with no results at all. That's really what started me looking at all my meds; blood pressure, thyroid, diabetes. Then it took months of tweaking until I was able to get the bs down to where I was comfortable jumping ship. The next hurdle will be the BP meds. If I can lose some more weight, we'll see.

I'm dying to go home and see it. I work another hour, then I can head home. It's not like they're going to be able to put UP the siding in the same day they took it all down!!

It's just so exciting..our house will be so WHITE!!!!

It doesn't taste "eggey" at all. It tastes pretty much like whatever you put on it - only a little sweet because of the Splenda.

I just spent a bunch of money at the meat market. I was out of everything, plus I was hungry! I hope it lasts two weeks! :paranoid: My dinner tonight is going to be chunks of beef browned in butter and olive oil to which I will add a bag of frozen stir-fry vegetables and some seasoning. Not gourmet cooking, but it will taste good and it's quick.

I made it to the gym tonight. It felt good. That was my gift.

Amy, I'm glad your house will be decently clad tonight. So will you be if it rains again!

Monday's Gifts

1. SLEEP - I completely gifted Sleep to myself. I caught an extra 5 hours during the day!

2. Shopping - Got the Chigger/Bug killer. (Was able to mow lawn but not enough time to put the CHigger/Bug killer before the sprinklers came on).

3. Food - On track. I had to buy MORE bananas because after 3 days of no bananas I woke up with charlie horse again in my calves. boooooo. bananas will stay on my diet for the rest of the pregnancy no matter the carb count.

4. Fun - I did sleep a lot more than playing but I did play. I also got a new recipe book "Don't Panic - Dinner's IN the Freezer". There are some great recipes to store in the freezer. Not all recipes are low carb but the soup was easy to make low carb.

I am looking forward to sleeping tonight!

Carol--congratulations on the whoosh fairy visit. Would you please send her my way? I'm still up 2 lbs.

Everyone else -- great day everyone. I loved the "naked house" story, and happy anniversery, Annette. That German pancake looks so good, but I don't dare try something like that -- it would no doubt add another 2 lbs! But I can at least salivate over the description.

Had a good day in that I stayed on plan, got in some exercise and sweated a bunch in 102 degree weather. Sat outside last evening and "protected" the female cardinal as she bathed in the dog's dish. One of my cats was eying her with a glee on his face that I knew I'd better distract him and protect the bird. All ended well.
