Mockahlua and Cream
1 shot Sugar Free Kahlua
2 shots heavy cream
Simply mix and sip! A nice "little something" to serve at the end of a dinner party, in lieu of a heavier dessert.
Sugar Free Mockahlua
2 ½ cups water
3 cups Splenda
3 Tbsp instant coffee crystals
1 tsp vanilla
750 milliliter bottle 100 proof vodka - use the cheap stuff.
In a large pitcher or measuring cup combine water, Splenda, coffee crystals, and vanilla. Stir until coffee and Splenda are completely dissolved. Pour through funnel into a 1.5 - 2 liter bottle - a clean 1.5 liter wine bottle works fine, so long as you've saved the cork. Pour in the whole contents of the bottle of vodka. Cork, and shake well. You can make this with decaf if caffeine bothers you.

Lady Rider's LC Kahlua!
You will need an empty 750-ml liquor bottle to store the kahlua (note: I doubled the batch and it fit nicely into a 2 liter bottle)
2 c 80 proof vodka (trace amount of carbs)
2 c water
1 ½ Tablespoons of vanilla extract (I added an extra splash)(trace carbs)
1 ½ Tablespoons instant coffee (trace carbs)
8-10 packages of Equal (I used half equal/half Splenda) 1carb per pack
Combine 1st 4 ingredients in a covered saucepan. Cook until all ingredients are dissolved. Remove from heat and leave covered (or alcohol will boil away)
While still warm, add sweetener. This is very good straight or with some heavy cream, or toss in a blender with some crushed ice and cream.

LC Kahlua #3

2 cups 80 proof vodka
2 cups water
1 ½ Tbsp instant coffee
1 ½ Tbsp of vanilla
8 - 10 packets of Splenda®
Mix in a covered sauce pan and stir over medium heat until completely
dissolved. Cover and cool and then pour into a liquor bottle for storage.
You could also add some not/Sugar (from Expert Foods) to make it thick and syrupy (the original recipe (above) is more of a vodka (thin) consistency, not thick or syrupy like true liqueurs)

Zingertini
1 Celestial Seasonings Tangerine Orange Zinger tea bag
3 ounces premium vodka
Ice
1 ounce orange liqueur
Slice of orange or tangerine
Steep one Tangerine Orange Zinger tea bag for 5 minutes in vodka. After steeping, remove tea bag and squeeze. In shaker, add ice, tea/vodka mixture and orange liqueur, shake well. Pour into martini glass. Garnish with an orange or tangerine slice. Serve cold.
Am I correct in remembering that plain liqueur does not have a carb count, but just the ones with added cream and sugar (like Baileys, etc.)? I hope I haven't added another non-usable recipe.

Low Carb Margaritas
1 can Diet Mountain Dew
Juice of 2 small fresh limes
1.5 ounces tequila
Pour Dew into a ziplock freezer bag; freeze flat til frozen.
Break Dew up into VitaMix or blender; add lime juice tequila and blend til slushy.
Serve in salt-rimmed glasses if desired.
Makes 2 margaritas.
You have to plan ahead a bit for this one - I usually keep a frozen bag o'Dew in the freezer at the ready!
If you miss the bit of orange flavoring, add a dash of DaVinci SF orange syrup before blending.

cmole-- clear alcohols are zero carb, you are correct but all liqueurs have somewhere in the vicintity of 13 carbs per ounce--not just the ones with cream--so the orange liqueur in your recipe probably would be better left out.--taste it sometime it is incredibly sweet. I would sub another ounce of vodka, plus 3 or so packets of splenda(or a couple of drops of sweetzfree) plus a bit of grated orange peel.

Quick gin and tonic
order a club soda with lime and a shot of gin. add a packet of sweetener ( slowly and make sure there is some room at the top of the soda glass--it will fizz up!) and add the gin. Ta-dah! I like to do it thiis way 'cause I like a BIG drink that is low on alcohol. sometimes I'll strech the shot out toTWO large club sodas. you can order a gin and soda and add the sweetener if you prefer a traditional pour.

Excerpt from my Blog: http://lowcarbohydrate.blogspot.com/2007/02/low-carb-vodka-highballs.html
Trying to lose weight does not mean that we are necessarily prude health nuts.... Lets talk about low carb alcoholic beverages. The impact of alcohol on a low-carb diet is minimal. Ethyl alcohol, which is the active ingredient in hard liquor, beer, and wine, has no direct effect on blood sugar. In the case of distilled spirits and very dry wine, the alcohol generally isn’t accompanied by enough carbohydrate to affect your blood sugar very much. But, some kinds of alcohol have sugar, so be sure to look it up before going wild. With that said...
A highball is a quickly poured drink served in a highball glass. The phrase 'highball' comes from the practice of placing a ball on a tall pole in a railway station to signal a train that it was running behind schedule. The name was attached to the drinks is because highballs are typically quickly made with just one liquor, one mixer, and a single garnish. Most mixed drinks are highballs. For example the rum and Coke, scotch and soda, the screwdriver. A highball consists of alcohol and a mixer, served over ice. Right now, lets focus on Vodka and low-carb mixers. Vodka has no carbs.
Instructions:
Fill an 8 oz. highball glass two thirds full of ice. Pour one and a half ounces of liquor into the glass. There are three methods for measuring your pour:
Measuring the quantity with a jigger.
Measuring "two fingers" of alcohol.
Using a speed-pourer and counting to three
After pouring the alcohol, add tie mixer to the drink. If the mixer is not carbonated, either stir the drink with a spoon or to add a straw or stirrer to the drink for the drinker to use.
Low Carb Highball Ingredients:
The net carb counts below do not include the garnish.
Low Carb Cape Cod (1.3 net carb)
1.5 oz. Vodka, Ocean Spray Diet Cranberry Juice to fill. Garnish with a lime wedge. Most cranberries come from Cape Cod. This is my favorite.
Vodka and Diet Tonic (0 net carbs)
1.5 oz. Vodka, Diet Schwepps Tonic water to fill. Garnish with a lime wedge.
Skinny Screwdriver (1.3 net carbs)
1.5 oz. Vodka, Ocean Spray Diet Orange Citrus to fill.
Skinny Madras (1.3 net carbs)
1.5 oz. Vodka, 4 oz. Ocean Spray Diet Orange Citrus Juice, 1 oz. Ocean Spray Diet Cranberry Juice. Don't Stir.
Skinny Vodka Chiller (0 net carbs)
1.5 oz. Vodka, Diet Ginger Ale to fill. Garnish with a lime wedge. Chillers always have Ginger ale. This is the same thing as a "Skinny Moscow Mule". Since Vodka is from Russia, this drink is appropriately named.
