Okay gang, here is a new week to get to it and get some M&S done :D!
I started my week on Saturday since I'm going to be MIA towards the end of the week. Doing it different this week and doing cardio every day followed by body part work.
What are the rest of you up to :)?
I'm so excited that I have stuff to report for the 18th!!! Woo Hoo!!
Sunday: 30min dog walk (final dog walk ), planted garden, shoveled dirt around for tomato plants, edged (by hand) the flower boxes
Monday:
Tuesday:
Wednesday:
Thursday:
Friday:
Saturday:
Funny story. I bought some fragrant thyme (orange scented) just to grow for fun and scent (not sure I'll use it). So I am reading the instructions and it says to put it in a pot and cover in cellophane until it sprouts.
So I go in the house to the cellophane drawer, I have red and green cellophane, and I have two boxes of cellophane with CHRISTMAS PRESENTS on it!! :D
I use to buy a LOT of christmas cellophane to cover all my goodies, but I guess I haven't baked in a quite a while, and I haven't quite learned not to buy the after holiday sales on saran wrap!
So, my thyme is growing under wrap with Christmas presents on it!:lol::lol:

Hi all, just got in my Over 50 workout session. Did 45 min. This afternoon I go for my first pt session so will see what they determine for me to do.
I plan on a walk this p.m. as dh said he wants to start walking too. He always has done it kind of sporadically, so hopefully this will be a regular thing.

Hi All! Were gonna be back on the road a little later today going back home. About a 4 hour drive - but, we'll turn it into longer because I have a few places I want to see before leaving Louisville. I learned how the KY people pronounce it and I was doing all wrong. It's Loo a ville. Not
Loo e ville! I got to see some miniature horses on Saturday evening. They were at the fairgrounds and they were just soooooo cute. I petted some of them and I feel in love. It makes me want to move out into the country even more. I'd love to own a pair of them. I think the Mals would have a great time with them. Small world, I met a guy at the seminar who owns two rescue Malamutes and is a member of the Wisconsin Malamute club. I was a member of that club for about 8 years. Anyway, I'm suppose to be looking up some addresses right now - not typing here. I will be glad to bet back home and get to "talk" to you guys again. I really miss my workouts and I have "slipped" a little on the food. Nothing realllllly bad. Just enough that I know I didn't lose anything. Last night, I had a visit from "Charlie Horse". I haven't had that problem in about 3 years. I was surprised that I couldn't shake it very quickly - but, I think concrete does that to a person.
I will "see" you guys tomorrow.

Amy - Way to go on that Sunday workout :D! I forgot to ask earlier, but what is the PT for? Hopefully nothing is seriously wrong!?!?!?! Gosh - if you lived here and didn't get your saran wrap by Thanksgiving, you wouldn't be getting any, sale or not !
Karole - How did your PT session go???? Hopefully it went well! How wonderful if DH actually gets into the habit of walking with you !
Sharon - Hope you travel safely :)! Glad you could check in before leaving!

Hello everybody!
I've been waiting for a new week of M&S to report on my new routine. OK, so there is nothing fancy but I hope it will make me good to change for a while from chatting Leslie Sansone ;).
I've started on Saturday evening as I want to change also move a day I'm off. In my case Saturday is an obvious choice but I want to become a very serious exerciser . I'm planning to keep with with Callanetics Countdown every other day.
Saturday - Tamilee Webb's I Want that Body! arms (15 min) + abs (10 min)
Sunday - The Body Workout (WU: 5 min + aerobics 8/10 min + toning 8 min) + Callanetics Countdown Legs(+/- 20 min)
Monday - Tamilee Webb's IWtB Buns (15 min) + abs (10 min)
So Shadow, let me tell you that I really enjoy the thought about doing The Body Workout with Elle Macpherson and Karen Voight. It is a circuit routine (1)Warm Up 2)Aerobics 1 3)Legs and Butt 4)Aerobics 2 5)Upper Body 6)Aerobics 3 7)Abs and Back 8)Cool Down which lasts just 45 minutes and it is aimed at beginner/intermediate public. Beautifully filmed and - I really have to say it - Elle Macpherson is really... great. Not only is she glamorous but at the same time so nice and friendly. She follows Karen Voight with full respect and both of them have some fun while turning this video. As far as I am concerned: had no trouble with following the choreography but I was sweating as soon as the warm up has started! I hope that one day I will feel strong enough to finish it whole 45 min:eek:! Btw, I am so impressed by all of you being able to exercise for more than 30 minutes in a row!
As you have probably noticeced, I have also started using Tamilee Webb's video. Surprisingly, I had no problems with the 'arms' section, however, today's 'buns' was much too much for me. I didn't like all those squats and lunges and I had to take a breather every set. I will give it a go another time but definitely I prefer 10 min Solution buns section a lot more. I have also checked TotalFix and if I don't stick with Tamilee's buns (programme;)) I will use this one instead.
Still I am looking for some nice aerobic video (low impact and basic), I feel tempted by Karen Voight's Burn & Firm (but it is also a circuit and I don't know how to use it in my week routine:confused:) and/or My Personal Trainer with Leisa Hart. Do you know any of it, please?
One more question: does Callanetics count for a flexibility workout or should I rather do Power Stretch or buy one of stretch videos (thought about Tamilee Webb's Total Stretch for Beginners )

Adina - Glad to see you made some changes :D! And you can certainly feel free to start a new thread should you like :). After all, no one should have to wait to toot their horn :p.
I am so glad you are enjoying your new workout! And don't worry - the more you do it, the more you'll get used to it. Just take your time and before you know it, you'll be whizzing thru the whole thing!
As you have probably noticeced, I have also started using Tamilee Webb's video. Surprisingly, I had no problems with the 'arms' section, however, today's 'buns' was much too much for me.
Tamilee is tough! So I think it's awesome you're keeping up as much as you are ! You may "prefer" the 10 minute solution but... is that because it's easier? Sometimes we have to challenge ourselves ;). Just remember to take it in increments and work your way up to the whole thing :).

I don't know either workout but I have a friend who really likes Karen Voight. You should be okay doing circuits if you're plan is to do them every other day. Does your DVD have the option of doing weights only or cardio only? That would be another way to separate the workouts. Or even if it's a well-chaptered DVD, you should be able to do that with not much more of a fuss.
One more question: does Callanetics count for a flexibility workout or should I rather do Power Stretch or buy one of stretch videos (thought about Tamilee Webb's Total Stretch for Beginners )
IMHO, Callenetics is in a class all by itself - kinda like Yoga and Pilates. If Tamilee's stretch workout is in small segments, you may be best off to add one segment after circuit workout.

Amy, I used to have lemon thyme. It gets fuller every year and is very attractive. Never heard of the orange variety, but it sounds yummy!

Amy - Oh how sad! I'm sure you're going to miss the dogs - and that they're going to miss you, too!
Last night was a busy night with very little freetime, so I didn't miss them yet, but I'm sure I will tonight!!! I loved walking with them, and the weather was SO perfect for dog walking!!!

Tamilee is tough! So I think it's awesome you're keeping up as much as you are !.
You are perfectly right, Shadow! My rear is completely sore from the very morning on! Not only tough but it apparently works:D!
You may "prefer" the 10 minute solution but... is that because it's easier? Sometimes we have to challenge ourselves ;). Just remember to take it in increments and work your way up to the whole thing :).
I don't know if 10 Minute Solution is much easier (I can feel it each time I do it; however, I have to admit that I rarely feel it the day after). It is shorter and it offers a variety of exercises which I miss at Tamilee's bun workout. (I like her arms workout, though.) Anyway, I will challenge myself for my own sake, dear Shadow :slywink:.
Saturday - Tamilee Webb's I Want that Body! arms (15 min) + abs (10 min)
Sunday - The Body Workout (WU: 5 min + aerobics 8/10 min + toning 8 min) + Callanetics Countdown Legs(+/- 20 min)
Monday - Tamilee Webb's IWtB Buns (15 min) + abs (10 min)
Tuesday - The Body Workout (WU+aerobics+toning arms & chest + stretch); Callanetics Countdown Legs
I really really like Elle Macpherson and Karen Voight video! Could you imagine anything more cool than stretching to Sting's Fields of Gold (of course if you like Sting)? I find it great and Karen does such an excellent cuing. So I have ordered another Karen Voight video, the circuit one. It could be a bit tough for me at the moment, as it is described as intermediate level, but hey, look at my sentence about challenging myself:D!!
IMHO, Callenetics is in a class all by itself - kinda like Yoga and Pilates. If Tamilee's stretch workout is in small segments, you may be best off to add one segment after circuit workout.
10 Minute Solution Target Tone for Beginners (the one I use) has a 10 min bonus 'Power Stretch', I think I'm going to use it after my workouts. Or the one with Elle and Karen + Sting and the ocean in the background:p.

Glad to hear you are feeling better Carol. Hopefully you'll be feeling completely rejuvenated really soon.
I'm afraid I was completely out of pocket yesterday as I left home at 6:20 a.m. to go to Springfield with my dd. We didn't get home til 12 hours later--marathon. At least it felt like it.
So the exercise I managed was 2 10 min. walks (one each before doing the pt exercises I have to do at home. They take another 10 min. So I did a total of 40 min. I hope it will help me when I am on my horse. One thing I do know, the exercises he gave me pinpoint where I experience the pain while riding !! I feel rather happy about that--surely if we can pin point the exact area, we can do something to alleviate the problem.
I go back for a second session today at 3 p.m. and then tomorrow a.m. we go to the trailride for the Memorial day ride (4 days). I doubt if I find much relief this soon but hopefully by June I will be pain free while riding.
Adina, it sounds like you are going for it big time !! Wow. Way to go .
Shadow, I will be walking 10 min. before each pt session and then 10 min. of pt times (3 times per day) so that will be my exercise while at the trail ride and then of course the riding itself. So I will definitely be doing them, just not reporting til I get back. See everyone then !!

Oh MAN...now Shadow heard you!!!
Darn it!!
Actually, there is a dog down the street that I have permission to walk anytime I want (no-one in the house walks him), and he walks really well, but I feel funny asking to walk him :o. Weird huh?
Well, for the next many days, it will be yard work! Removing sod (anyone need any?), digging a hole for the patio stones (any need any dirt?), then pouring sand/gravel, then laying the patio stones...
So I think I'll get in my exercise this week!!!:redface:

Well, Ok, Shadow, here's my report. I got home about 2:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. Got up by 9:00 a.m. Ate breakfast and had to go mow 2 lawns before Pres. of Association called me in for weeds. She called it in on Thursday, I mowed on Friday, they didn't come out till Tuesday, measured, and found it too short to cite. So, being that 10 days had gone by, I didn't want her calling me in again. Went to Association meeting that night and whacked her good in the minutes.(Made a fool out of her):DThat will teach her to mess around with me. Everybody is tired of her antics! She thinks being President means she owns everything. Anyway, I got on the scale this morning and I have only put on about .6 of a pound. Not too bad!!!!:p Since that is what I took off the day before I left. I'm feeling great about not adding any pounds back on. I was a pretty good girl! Now, I need to get back a on schedule. I am feeling so tired and wore out. Hopefully, that feeling will go away once I get eating and exercising. It was a very productive business trip. Not much siteseeing - but, we accomplished what we went to do. It is nice to be back home.
I hope all of you have been behaving while I was gone. Not too many injuries.:slywink:
I'll be checking in on a regular basis now.

Karole, I was thinking about you while I was away. One night after we were done at the expo center we knew there was suppose to be a miniature horse show going on in a covered arena. So, we drove around the big parking lot (in between Six Flags amusement park) and found all these horse trailers. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! All of these beautiful miniature horses!!!! They were so cute!!!!!!!!!!! I just wanted to give all of them a big hug!!!!!!!!!! The have 2 classes of horses in the minis. One is below 30 inches and the other is not taller than 38 inches. I watched them hitched up to they're little two wheel surreys. They also had to run along side them and have the mini's jump over the jumps. It was so neat. There was this little boy. He couldn't have been much taller than 3 feet himself (I would think he was about 4-5 years old and he ran his little mini through the jumps and won his class. Against adults!!! This was so neat. One breeder had a 1/16th size Budweiser wagon that 4 of his mini's pull in parades. I thought that going to this horse show was a big highlight of the trip. I was so impressed with these horses.

It was nice to be able to check in and keep "all of you in mind". I tried real hard not to "blow" pp to badly. But, that last day - with free dessert and all - was quite a temptation. I think I got quite a bit of walking in around the convention hall. Even though we had a 4 - 6 hour seminar each day. It helped eating BBQ'd meat (w/a small amount of sauce). I think that because the scale is moving so slowly - it didn't want to move off of where I was holding too far. Anyway, I thought that if I had not watched as closely and ate out more often, I would have put more on. So, I enjoyed a little "fling" and got it out of my system and am ready to move forward. I know I don't want to go to long without "being able to talk to you all here", because it does keep me from wanting to give a "bad" report.:D So, let's give you all of you some credit for that.:) Just nice to be back here and "talk" with everyone. I missed you guys!:p So, back to the grind.

Here's her whip, ladies. Start hopping!http://bestsmileys.com/whipping/4.gif (It even kinda looks like a wet noodle, doesn't it?)

Upper body today plus ten minutes loosening up on the bike and a full ten minutes walking s-l-o-w on the treadmill. Feeling good today. I had less fatigue tonight, and I'm wondering if it's because I quit taking the diabetes med. I wish I knew what to expect.

:paranoid: Even the walls have ears!:rolleyes::lol:
We got our schedules mixed up tonight and didn't make it to the gym. I will go tomorrow and maybe Sunday or Monday. I'm still having a good knee day and I'm not sure if it's the weather? I'll know soon because it's supposed to storm Sunday night and Monday. If it's weather-related I'll be hobbling by tomorrow night. ;) (Part of my brain is thinking that the med was contributing to it.)
See you tomorrow! :)

Monday: nothing but PT
Tuesday: 30min recumbent bike, PT

I got on the scale this morning and OMG!!!!!!!!!! For the first time since I can't remember when, I am under 150!!!! This is quite a milestone. I have been in the 150's for the last 3 1/2 months. It just seemed like I'd never get under 150 and today it happened!!! I am so happy!!!!! I just hope I stay under 150 and inch towards the 140 mark. (Hopefully - before the end of the year.) It seems like a very slow progression. But, if slower means keeping it off permanently - I'll accept that!!!:D Anyway - today I jumped for joy!!!! (not an easy accomplishment within itself!):p
I have so many things to get done today. Replenishing the food around here being one. So, hopefully, I'll get plenty of exercise out and about the stores.
Have a great day!

Oops, I almost missed your comment, Tresses. This is the one I really wanted to use, but I didn't think it would reflect Shadow's personality or her attitude: http://bestsmileys.com/whipping/3.gif

It does mean that, according to what my doctor told me the first time I was losing at two pounds a month and complaining about it. I gained it back when I started eating carbs again.
I'm not getting as much done as I hoped today. I haven't been to the gym yet, either. :jawDrop:

It's nice to have a milestone happen, isn't it? :)
I got up and drove to the gym and had it all to myself! I did both upper and lower (since I got no exercise yesterday) and tried a couple of new machines. One that I spent a minute on was sort of an elliptical-type. I couldn't push it without bothering my knees a few weeks ago, but I had no trouble today.
Hope everybody's having a nice weekend!
