Good morning, all. I realise it might not be sunny climate-wise for everyone today, but we can all have a sunny disposition. :)

Today is our town's annual "Funtier Days" and I'll make a short appearance primarily at the rummage sale portion. I just love a bargain! The main event is the bison cook-off, but I don't usually partake since the rest of the food is very carby.

Also plan on jumping on the gazelle and getting in a period of meditation later.

Have a great day, everyone!

For me, these are the hard days.
I don't plan my meals on the weekends, so I end up winging it, and therefore have been know to throw in a scone or a piece of cake.

This weekend for us is BUSY!! As soon as I drag my butt out of bed (I LOVE my laptop), I have to mow the backyard, then we're cutting down a small tree. We're on vacation the week of Memorial day and our plans are to lay a brick patio, so we're trying to get some of this early prep done.

Exercise is planned though. Not only am I going to do my PT exercises twice today, we still have to walk the dogs. The owner comes home Sunday at midnight. I think I'll miss walking the dogs...

Anyway, how's your weekend looking?

...and you only missed me by a minute! Good morning, girls!

I'm off to get a haircut and I'll stop at the meat market on the way back. No, wait, I'll be too freaky. Later. Got lunch with friends and a big music jam this afternoon. It's beautiful and sunny, if not warm. Life is good.

BC, I've heard that bison is delicious, but in a festival situation with carbs is probably not the best place to eat it.

Hello - I've merged your threads, BC & Amy - hope that's OK?

It's not sunny here - I've even turned the heating on again. And my laptop has died :(.

Laptop dying...not a good thing. Hope it can be resuscitated, Janet.

Looks like everyone has a busy day ahead. Amy, is the week you were planning to go to SD? (before gas prices went through the roof)

Seems a lot of us will be facing potential carbfests today. I have a wedding to attend and then a graduation party. It's all centered between 4 and 9, so I plan to get a lot of protein in before I go. Then I don't have to worry about whether I eat or not--I can just graze on any non-carb items and leave the rest alone. I have no idea what anyone's serving, so I can't plan ahead to eat at either place.

Carol, your music jams sound like a lot of fun!

Hi, y'all,

Slow moving morning.

BC, I've had Bison, it is delicious.

Still feeling great since my Thursday weight. Wore my stretch size 10's capri's to a casual dinner last night, looked great! :slywink:
Someone even noticed my 20 lb weight loss & best yet, I can tell when I look in the mirror.

Meals are planned, just doing things around the house.

DS, myself, DH are going for a family portrait this afternoon. DS is moving to South Colorado the 1st of June 08. Sort of sad, don't like to think about it.....

Have a great weekend all.

When I was a teenager, we lived in Lawton, OK just outside the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge. Each year they culled their buffalo and we purchased a hind quarter. It's fabulous meat, very rich and tasty. The difficulty with getting it at the fair is the meat serving is small because it comes with potatoes, beans and corn. Not worth $6.00 to me to have about 4 oz of meat and throw the other away.

Thanks so much. I realised after I posted I should have titled the post Sat & Sun. Forgot we only do one on the weekend.

Oh, so sorry about your laptop. Hope you can get it fixed or replaced soon.

Absolutely!

I've had a ggggGGGRRRRREEEAATTTTT day!
We started the day by mowing the yard (it's not very big). Then we cut down a flowering crab tree and dug out the stump. That must have taken 4 hours! Then I hand weeded one of our garden plots and the area around where the tree was. Oh, while one person was working on the stump, the other was 'tilling' the garden. Then I dug up some dirt and put it around the house.
We're laying a patio next weekend so we're doing some of the leg work this weekend.
Ruth, we were going to go to SD the week after Memorial day, but it has been cancelled thanks to gas prices, so instead we're laying a patio! I'm excited!

Then at 7pm we went over and walked the dogs, then has supper at 9. IT's been an exhausting day, but I feel really GOOD. Like I've earned a good nights sleep!

Mitra, thanks for joining the threads, and I'm so sorry about the laptop. Having just gotten mine, I can imagine how you are missing it!
