Good morning, weekenders! What have you got planned, besides your Protein Power menu? :)

I'm all about housework today. Mom and sister are coming over tomorrow for a Mother's Day lunch and I'd like to get the components in place today. Right now, I'm fantasizing about how much LESS decluttering I will be doing if DS moves in to share an apartment with his friend. It's a heady thought!

Breakfast was three patties of sausage and two cups of coffee. Lunch will be roast beef. Pork loin in the crock pot to make pulled pork barbecue for the boys. I buy the ends, which have a couple of bones in them but are half the price of the roasts. I think the bones add flavor anyway.

More closet cleaning for me. I took another three bags of clothes out of my closets and drawers today. I used to hate this job, but now it's kind of fun! Like Carol, I need to do a lot of housecleaning today--everything's looking sort of cluttered.

The scale looks like it's trending downwards again, but I'm not adjusting my ticker until I visit my doc again in a couple of weeks.

Last night wasn't stellar. We had an awards banquet last night and I ended up eating a chicken breast with some breading on it and just a spoonful of baked beans and cole slaw. I stayed away from the cake and the rolls, so that's progress at least. I was also facing some munchy demons last night, but I settled for a bit of dark chocolate, whipped cream, and almonds.

For today, well I need to get some breakfast, probably sausage (or ricotta pancakes if I feel motivated). Lunch will be a wrap, and I have leftover pork chops and chicken breast that needs to be eaten.

Carol, hope your preps for tomorrow go well so you can enjoy yourself then.

I'm going to get my hair cut today. Right now it is LLLOOOONNNNNGGGG. It is all the way down my back and I'm gonna cut it all off into a little bob. I've been hiding my fat self under all this hair and now I feel confident in my weight loss to cut it off. My face isn't rolly polly anymore.

But I'm so nervous.

The rest of the day will be filled with soccer games. I'm not so thrilled with being a soccer mom -- what we do for our kids.

Tomorrow we are going to Brunch. I was so sad that we weren't going. Then my kids started to ask Daddy if we were going. They were as disappointed as I was. Now we are going. I can't wait. I'm going to eat everything there is! I know I'll have to suffer the consequences -- but it will be worth it.

Are you sure? After all the hard work? It's really boring to go to a buffet and only eat PP-friendly selections, but it can be done. Then you'll feel good about yourself and you won't have to go through the cravings again. Happy Mother's day, in any case! :D

And here I was thinking I was in bad shape for losing Thursday. Carol lost an entire week!:D:eek: Then again, I had a check returned to the bank this week as I dated it "4 May, 1998. Ten years -- that has to be a record. :D The bank president thought it was a hoot.

This will be a quiet weekend for me. Tomorrow is Pentecost so I'll probably join some folks for lunch after church. Chinese buffet again -- which is great if I could only be a bit more disciplined in my choices.

On target for exercise and meditation. Not on target food-wise, so a bit discouraged with the 5# weight gain this week. That's over 3 months of losses shot to heck and back, and I was only over on carbs two days, and then not by much. I know -- it's water weight, but it will take me two to three weeks of POP to get it off. :( I just wish I could get off this weight rollercoaster. On the positive side, blood sugars are more level which is more important than scale loss. But still.....

BC, I feel the same as you--the blood sugar numbers are the most important.

You're right about the money spent for clothes, Carol. . . and unfortunately, some of those clothes from the catalogs were pretty expensive. I really like being able to take advantage of the sales in stores that stock my size! But a lot of them were fairly well-worn and I did really get my money out of them. Many of the "new" outfits I now have were clothes I ordered that were too small at the time.

Peachy, I second Carol's suggestion that you may not enjoy the buffet as much if you're feeling regret over your choices. Enjoy the new you, though--your haircut will make you feel like a new person.

BC, hope you can get back on plan quickly. It's a lot harder later on. (I know from making bad choices myself)

I didn't notice the date either--that's how much I pay attention. :)

Many of the "new" outfits I now have were clothes I ordered that were too small at the time. Oh yes, I've pulled some summer tops out that are probably three years old and barely worn. Shopping in my own closet is fun!

Peachy, how did your bob turn out? Are you smiling? :D Freaking?

I got everything done but I forgot to dust, so I'm going for the swiffer. The soup for tomorrow will be Italian beef. I have Gouda from the grocery store because the meat market was closed by the time I got there. Probably just as good and a bit cheaper anyway. The Geezer just left to get me some flowers, bless his white cotton socks! (Anybody seen Daisy lately? I got that phrase from her!)

My hair turned out great! My husband adores it. Everyone is saying that it makes me look younger. My DH even said that it makes me look thinner.

And I lost a pound. I know it's a pound of hair -- but a pound is a pound!

HI, y'all,

Sounds like all had an eventful Saturday.

Yesterday, was DH's birthday, went to his fav restaurant, however, I stayed on plan & only ate one bite of the cinnamon icecream off his desert. Next time I make ice cream, I am going to add cinnamon to my vanilla.

BC, hang in there. Blood sugars are the most important, I also agree. I know just how you feel about the increase in the weight as last Thursday I was way up, stress eating & carbs. Hang in there, you can get to the weight you want.

Peachy, wow, isn't it great to get a "new" do? Glad you and the family love it. Hold steady at the buffet & stay clear of the temptations.

Ruth, that is interesting about the date on the check. Congrats to you for being able to wear the clothes in your closet that were too little when you bought them.

Carol, whoo hoo, tops out of your own closet to wear, how cool is that?

Our only son is home today, came in late last night to celebreate DH'S birthday and Mother's day today, so I am a happy camper for sure. DH is going to fix a special dinner at home for me. My INlaws are coming today, too.

Flash!
Today, I have lost the carb weight I gained from last Thursday!!!

I also was able to wear a shirtwaist dress I haven't worn since 2000 and it looks great! It was one of my favorite's and boy am I happy to look good in it again.

Well, got to run to church.

Will check in later.

Happy Mother's Day to all.

Happy Mothers Day to those who celebrate it today (over here it's the middle Sunday of Lent, so usually sometime in March).

It's suddenly turned hot here, after a cool spring - we've suddenly switched from wrapping up in winter clothes to digging out the coolest summer ones. I'm not that good in hot weather, so my body needs a bit longer to adjust!

Hello everyone, it's good to be back home and doing the normal things again !! I missed you guys and have already read all your posts to catch up on things so I would know what is what.

Sounds like you all are doing great!! --new clothes that fit, old clothes that were to small are now fitting--- what more can we ask !! Good job:exclamation::exclamation:

Whew, Missouri got another dose of bad weather again last night, with several deaths. We only got a little rain and wind here. It's still windy today in fact, but the severe weather had dissipated before it got to our area. I am so thankful for that.

Peachy, your hair cut sounds like it was a big hit with everyone. I love trying new styles myself.

Had a great time at the trailride--got a big boost when 3 different people I have known for ages raved over how much weight I had lost. One kept calling me Slim and another kept talking about my skinny jeans every time she saw me. Felt good. Another acquaintance asked me how much weight I had lost and then spoiled it by asking me if I was feeling well :confused: Was it paranoia on my part or was she saying I look sick from losing the weight--ahh, we'll never know. But I assured her I feel wonderful and full of energy. So there !!:D:D

Check with ya later.

Since I didn't see the thread yesterday, I missed the title mishap...what did it say??

Welcome back "skinny"!! Don't be paranoid...some people just don't see people actually lose weight, so they have no skills on remarking about it. She had to SEE how great you must be feeling!!!

SOOOOooo glad the "bob" worked out! Did you have long hair for-EVER? I bet that WAS nerve wracking, but sounds like you're happy...good!!

I had a long meeting yesterday with the non-profit I'm on the board for. I treasurer and it's "budget time", so it took a lot of my time, and all of my energy, so Saturday was kind of a wash.

Today, I sat around in bed until 11am!! I got up, made coffee and lc toast with peanut butter, and crawled back into bed to enjoy the paper. It was FANTASTIC!!
Then we went over and walked the dogs we were hired to walk. We keep forgetting to check our watch when we leave, but we KNOW we were gone for alteast an hour. We also said we'd take care of the neighbors dog, so we'll go for another hour tonight with her (Holly the Collie). Definitely getting my exercise.

Meals have been weird. Yesterday I had 2meals and a snack, but the meals were large.
Today I started with PB toast, then had some bbq (I'm not a big fan of the sauce, but did have some). It's 4pm and I'm not sure if I'll eat again today or not,...so meals have been weird.

Monday I'll be back on track.

I'm going to head out now and get something green to eat this week. I'm also going to the computer store to inquire about a wireless router. I can "borrow" from the neighbor, but I have to be sitting outside. I'd like to be able to be on the internet while I'm INSIDE as well, but this process of moving to a laptop is just that...a process! One step at a time.

Oh, better call mom too...yeah, can't forget that!
Happy Mothers Day all you moms!!

There's a couple more Whoo Hoos!

We're going back and forth like a metronome. It's confusing!

One kept calling me Slim and another kept talking about my skinny jeans every time she saw me. Felt good.Glad you're back, Karole! That kind of a boost can keep you going for a while, can't it? I don't know about you, but when I'm losing, my skin sags more and I get bags under my eyes. I consider it a trophy, but someone else might think I'm not getting enough sleep, I suppose. It's all good!

Since I didn't see the thread yesterday, I missed the title mishap...what did it say?? Nothing terrible, just an old lady's screwup in using the wrong dates in the thread title. That's one thing about walking a dog for exercise--you can't ignore the pup! You walk whether you feel like it or not! Good luck with the wireless router.

I had my mom and my sister over for lunch, and it's our weekend for the grandblessing, so we had quite the lunch! I made soup and served it with bread and cheese. Simple and delicious. My stepson in TX just called with good wishes and talked my ear off for fifteen minutes. The boys brought me flowers and Lindt and DH added a pair of gold earrings.

Breakfast was leftover sausage patties and coffee. Lunch was the soup and cheese with a piece of Lindt later. Dinner...I am not sure. DS is in my kitchen making his lunches for the week--a new trait. I nursed him through the whole operation and now he's doing dishes. Another new trait!

Peachy, that's a BIG change to make all at once! I've had long hair for years (recently cut off 5" and it's still down to the bottom of my bum ), but I love it. I'm glad you're happy with your new do! :)

Weird food weekend. Had to deal with taking my mom out to lunch yesterday. I managed well with a grilled chicken salad that was very yummy. The struggle came when my mom (a diabetic, btw), ordered dessert. My all time favorite. Cheesecake with strawberries. ::drool:: And it was a big, thick, dense piece. Oh, it looked good. It smelled good. I could've just reached over and taken just one bite. One tiny bite. One nibble...

But I prevailed against the cheesecake!!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/Tresses/emoticons/boxer.gif

Today, hubby made me ham and eggs for breakfast. For lunch, I made a fruit and cheese plate for the two of us. He had picked up Jarlsberg, Brie, Vincent Gouda (they were out of my preciousssssssss Rembrandt), and Cahill's Porter (Irish cheddar with porter) at the grocery store last night. YUM. He also picked up some marinated beef and chicken kabobs which he grilled for us for dinner tonight. Happy Mother's Day to me!

What? Doesn't the geezer do your grilling for you, Carol? BTW, I love that nickname--too bad it's already taken!

Good Mother's Day here. I stayed on plan except for a couple of onion rings.

Glad everyone's doing well. Claudette, it's great to put on a favorite that you can wear again, isn't it?

Nice to see you back today, Amy! I love the days when it doesn't matter if you go back to bed--I just don't get them often. But I was able to get the morning to myself yesterday and slept in longer than usual. I'm headed off to bed tonight. (early because I stayed up until 3:00 this morning!)

It's raining and chilly outside. I WANT WARM WEATHER!
