I almost didn't start a thread, except I realized the 4-25 thread was way too busy for that to be today.

So, who's movin' and shakin' today? Don't make me sing to you again ;)

I slept through my alarms AGAIN but figured out a common factor. I sleep in the living room (long story) but when I leave the balcony door open, apparently I get cold and turn over and go back to sleep. My alarm shuts itself off after about 20 seconds, so I think it's time to make closing the balcony door part of my night time routine, and start using the radio alarm for a while.

So, that's a long way of saying I didn't get a chance to walk this morning. But I'm gonna do the coffee run, and hopefully make it partway up the hill at least. I'll update later on :)

Did 30 min on theArcTrainer for cardio and then took a pilates class. Then at the end of class the instructor showed us a couple of ball exercises. :)

I made the coffee run for 15 minutes (we took the long way back) and up the hill for 15 more! Woo!

So far, we've been to the gym every evening this week. Tonight is my first night (evaluation, I would guess) with the physiotherapist. As it is in the same area as the gym we attend, I'll possibly head for a workout (if my body can take it - depending on the appt) afterwards.

Daily - morning walk with dogs (often afternoon, but not today and not Monday because of Dental appt)

Ally - How fun :)! Which ones did he show you?

Miralin - Way to go :D!

cmcole - Definitely a great week for you so far!

Push up on the ball (which I found worked me just as much as a regular one but I could actually DO these lol )

Bridge on the ball but where you roll the ball back and forth with your legs instead of going up and down, in and out of the bridge. Did that make sense? lol

Absolutely, Ally! Great basic exercises he's showing you!!! Those hamstring roll-ins can be killer ! And holding that position but opening your knees to the side is great for the adductors too ;).

Shadow ~
Do you mean hold that position and then open legs out to the sides and then close and repeat or just open them slightly and hold?

Ally - This is a basic glute tuck (http://www.cathe.com/images/DSC_0174.jpg) on the ball. For the roll-ins, instead of your legs going up and down, you start on the ball in an extended position (feet on top of the ball, legs straight out) and pull the ball in using your hamstrings - while I do not do the exaggerated position this woman is doing, here (http://www.sissel-online.com/exercise/sup_hamstring_crl_ft_exercise_ball.php), this is essentially the roll-in I'm referring to. The "froggies" I'm talking about is when you perform this move but with the knees bent to the sides. It works the inner thigh if that helps you picture it :). Sorry but I can't find a link for it yet :(... but if you have the patience to watch the video clip (http://www.shopcathe.com/product_p/522.htm) here for just a little over a minute, she demonstrates them. Just go to the bottom of the page and pick your connection speed for the lower body workout :). The froggies are the first exercise when you see the stability ball.

Just reporting back. I did get the Curves workout in last night! I did some different type things in the non-machine portions and I think I'm starting to feel it, and that's just fine!

I have wondered about using the balls in a workout; this is interesting to see/read.

ohhhh nice links shadown THANKS! lol Yes the hamstring curl is the one we did yesterday and now i understand what you were talking about with the froggy one. i can sure see where that will work the inner thighs!
thanks!

Ally - Glad I could help! I know for me a picture is worth a thousand words and am just glad I searched long enough to find some!

Alice - Way to go on that workout! If you ever get the chance to get a ball or try a ball, I think you will be greatly surprised at how a light piece of plastic can create such a challenge :p. I would say that the stability (exercise, Swiss, whatever you want to call it) ball is the greatest addition to my collection, second only to my free weights :).

I second that BIG TIME! Used to think they were silly but since using it more and more I love it! Amazing what a workout you can get with them! In fact, I shouldn't even admit to this but.... lol.... I just bought a couple of ball books on AMazon.com heheheee...

Oh wow, Ally, I have balls (well, only one exercise ball now since I gave two away) and several workouts using balls - but no books on balls! How very exciting :)! I look forward to you sharing lots of info once you get them :D!

OK, I did my jogging for 30mn (including a good amount of sprinting) last night. I finally feel like my tendon is healed.

My short-term goal is to be able to get up BEFORE work to exercise. So luckily, my husband has just had his shift changed from nights to days, which means he has to wake up at around 3:45 am! For me, this is good b/c I'll be more willing to get up early after he's been up!

LisaV :D :D :D!!!! So very happy to see you here again! I am thrilled your tendon is doing well and that you're M&S'ing it. Yahoo for you :)! Oh yes, adapting to exercise before work is hard - but I know you can do it!!! Heck, if I could condition myself to getting up way before dawn, I know you can too ;)!

**Ew! Running to hide my head under the PILLOWS about the getting up before DAWN!!!** :D

LisaV - it IS great to see you! :)
