Good morning. How are things? Mine are good.
I'm moving my savings account today. Brief background. I found this site, mint.com. They look at your account information, and make suggestions of other products (financial) that will net you better returns. So, I'm 60% moved out of my checking account (and into my new checking account) and getting 3.2% interest where I was getting none. I think, by the end of the day, I can get out of my savings account and into a new one, moving from .2% to 4.1%. With all the automation in bill pay, it can be really difficult to know when you're fully out of an account. thus enters BankSwitcher.com. They look at your last three statements in quicken or MSMoney format, and track down all your direct deposits and direct payments, and bill pay info, and give you the instructions to rewire them. Very slick.

Any rate, at work, we are having a meeting today with the contracting officer who doesn't seem to want to do our contract. I've decided the best tact for today's meeting is to straight out ask, "What do we need to do to get this shopped by Friday of next week. We'll see how that plays in government. I don't have high hopes, but you never know until you try. As my single favorite movie line of all time goes, (bonus points if you know what movie this is from) "Askin' ain't getting." "But I still have to ask!"

Other things going on. I've been called for jury duty. I can't really afford the time or the cost. Going to see about deferring. I only have to defer for 74 days, and I'm done in this county.

Last, have a photo shoot this afternoon, weather permitting. They want to get all the people in my program who are still in DC together for a photo on the front steps. They'll hang it in the main hall of the DOL. I imagine, by the time they develop it, I will be moved to Chicago, but hopefully I will get a copy. Would be interesting to contrast it with the picture we took with the Secretary (Chao).

Food is fine. Two protein shakes, plus almonds. Can get hot wings from across the street if that's not up to task, but it generally has been. Conversation in another thread has my wheels turning and I might want to reread PP soon. Learning is a good thing.

You just reminded me that I need to move some money around myself. I need to merge two IRA's. But the one I need to move is doing better than the new one, so I don't know if I should even touch it. I can't add to it anymore because the contract with them was terminated at my job.

Today will be another boring food day for me. I'm broke and I didn't get myself a darn thing for the week. I think I'm going to buy some eggs with my last few dollars. Cheap protein.

Someone somewhere on another board had some info on how Soy is bad for weight loss. So this morning was my first morning without my soymilk in my protein shake. It just wasn't the same. I used unsweetened almond milk instead. Kind of yucky. Will take some getting used to.

If we don't move forward, we're moving backwards. I don't remember who told me that but it certainly applies to the mind. When I stop learning, I'll turn up my toes.

I loaned out my PP and I think I'll retrieve it for another reread also. I always pick up something new or get reminded of a fact I've forgotten.

I wish you success in moving the contracting officer!

I'm good so far! I've been up for a couple of hours and had two cups of coffee, so it's time for breakfast. I need to get groceries and stop by the health food store. I also will take my Mom to meet up with her Ireland-bound group. I also need to get busy printing and cutting note cards.

Good luck with your almond milk, Peachy. Maybe a flavor that goes with almond (like chocolate or cherry) would help. I just use water so anything goes.

Good luck Peachy...hope you find something that tastes better!
Max...I don't know the movie, but am familiar with the line-and you're right, won't move you back any further to ask...but don't expect it to propel you ahead:rolleyes:.

My morning is dreary. I was able to jump out of bed which was very nice. Up and at'em!! I have a lot to do at work, and would really like to get in a workout today. It's been 2 days and I hate to get too much time in between or my muscles may forget how to move .

Meals are packed though...filled up at 3 grocery stores last night (one I only shop at for coffee). Lots of pork, turkey, chicken, and brats. Hmm, didn't realize I didn't buy any cow?? Bought a 3-pack of pork (chops, country ribs, roast) so I will eat a PIG in the next few days :D. Feels good to have meat again, it's been a couple weeks since I had things around to cook-it's all been restaurants and those can be KILLER to me!

Oh, I dropped another 1.5lb overnight, however, it's dropping too fast, so I won't be at ALL surprised if it comes back tonight. But I'll enjoy it for the day.

Have a good day all!!!

7am 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 Men's bread
11am chicken thigh and leg, green beans
2pm yogurt, almonds
6pm pork chops, salad with carrots, feta dressing
may add a couple sf popsicles
I had to guess on the size of the pork chops...I'll weight them tonight before I eat them.

Morning, Amy!

IMHO, asking won't propel you ahead, but it's essential to having a direction. ;)

I've just been on my belly on the front lawn getting close-ups of crocuses. DH found one cluster that pierced through an oak leaf and cleared a spot.

Enjoy your workout!

Not Bulworth. Better movie.

The Contracting officer said, we can probably list it by next week. So, victory is ours. Life is good.

Shake-nuts-shake. Energy drink for ADHD (and B-vitamins). Supplements. On with the day.

Good afternoon, all! :) A beautiful sunny day here. I'll be taking the kids for a walk around the neighborhood in just a bit.

Food/water good so far today:
Breakfast: bacon, eggs, bran cracker with cream cheese and Polaner all-fruit
Snack: coffee w/half and half, peanuts, 1 dark chocolate kiss
Lunch: spinach and veggie salad with ham, turkey, edam, and ranch dressing; LC yogurt
Dinner: not sure, needs to be simple, both boys have BB practice tonight

It's 1pm and I've already gotten 6 cups of water down. I've been struggling with that for that past few days, but I'm right on track to easily get 9+ cups in today.

Gotta go put up the hair for our walk. ;) Have a good one! :)

Hmmm, I wonder how many pigs we've eaten so far this year. Pork is really cheap here, so that's what we normally eat. We had a yummy stir fry with it a few days ago, but I'm not up to cooking right now.

Right now, I'm on antibiotics and codeine. Oy. So... I'm probably out of commission for a while, BUT I'm still eating plenty of protein. The doc was surprised I was up and chipper. Must be all the protein and vitamins. LOL. I'll still try to check in. I'll be reading if I'm not posting.

I've had a pretty good food day so far.

B: cheese omelet, 4 strips bacon
L: chicken leg (thigh and drumstick), assorted grilled veggies
S: chocoperfection bar
D: 1/2 c cottage cheese

However, this is nowhere near enough food for one day and I have no clue what I'm having for dinner. Anyone want to come over and cook for me? I think the being on call thing is starting to get on my nerves.

There is NO WAY I'm finishing this big bottle of codeine, come and get it! I took 1/2 dose and that was enough to put me out. LOL! I didn't really post about it, but my neck has been swollen, and here I was worrying about thyroid inflammation, but so far I have a throat infection, ear infection, and unhappy clogged up lungs.

Hope you're feeling better soon, NaeMo. I've had those things before, and I know how miserable it feels. Best wishes. Take care of yourself.
