It's time to finish the challenge of March Strong, so we're ready to do some April (metaphorical) house cleaning.
Today, thus far:
Shake (35/2)
Workout (details in Use it or Lose it)
Shake (35/2)
On deck:
Lean sirloin carne asada. I will not buy this again, even though it was pretty good. I like the tritip carne asada better than the sliced sirloin. Thought I was buying a roast. That said, the sliced sirloin would have been great on the grill. Too bad it was cold. Any rate, I have leftovers.
I also have tamari almonds. Trying something new.
Have work to do (yawn) and a meeting after lunch. Best get on with my day.
No plans for dinner yet, but something will thaw or present itself.

Good morning, Max.
Typical day ahead for me, but it seems like a sleepy Monday.
My breakfast today: 4 sausage links, Power Crunch bar
Lunch: wrap with pizza toppings and hamburger
Supper: I have chicken breast cooked and some Dreamfields mac & cheese. I'll do something with that
I still seem to be in a stall. This is the first one I'd call a true stall because the scale hasn't moved all month (other than down a pound, up a pound). Not sure what to do here . . .
Have a good day, everyone.
UGH...I need to get back on plan...have been faltering...
:jawDrop:
Okay...meals are all planned and packed. Body is sufficiently miserable...I'm back!
8am coffee shake, LC carrot cake muffin
11am chicken, left over deep fried green beans (barely coated)
2:30pm celery, peanut butter
5:30pm taco, cheese, s. cream on flat out bread.
These counts are low on fat, carbs, cal because I don't know the counts of the g.beans. I only have about a cup of them.
Pro: 119
Ecc: 32
Fat: 89
Cal: 1443

Just finished my workout and am feeling just great. Amazing how that works isn't it.
I made some lc peanut butter cups and some coconut protein bars yesterday. A friend is starting lc and wanted me to make them for her so I just made a double batch. She hasn't read PP but I think I'll make a copy of "PP in a Nutshell" and give it to her along with the PB cups. That info will be much more valuable to her than the candy ever will.
My dd , an lpn traveling nurse currently in Lubbock, started PP in mid Feb and has lost 19 pounds, dropped a dress size so she is thrilled with everything. So glad she is doing so well. My oldest son is also doing well on PP--lost at least 10 pounds and his bs is doing great. So there is a lot for me to be thankful for, besides my own better health.
No wonder I am feeling so upbeat today !!
Have a great one !!

Karole, I'm so glad your kids are getting results from PP. With you as a mentor they may stick to it for life!
DH and I drove for hours on Saturday and talked about lots of things, including the carb thing. After all the years, he still isn't clear and thinks carb=fat. When I called it a starch, he seemed to get it. I don't know if it will stick. He's pretty forgetful.
Breakfast was a protein shake and lunch will be a can of tuna with whatever condiments I can find in the office fridge. I will have some V-8 juice with it and I'll be just fine. I forgot to bring anything from home, which probably would have been tastier.
Dinner looks like chicken chunks browned in butter and oil in a sour cream sauce.

after a rough evening of temptation, I made it through.
today, bkft was a protein shake, 25 protein, 1 carb, 120 cal
lunch was an entire can of tuna with hellmans, the hellmans alone was 4 tbsp=4oo cal, but I am not worried, its no carb, right?! lol
i stuffed it all inside half a pita which was 13 carb
dinner will be roast chicken and steamed broccoli, cauli, carrot mix
dessert will be a source yogurt for 9 carb
i am getting the hang of not worrying about fat...as long as i dont eat sugar and starches, i can and must eat fat.
Amy, welcome back! ;)
Thanks...and I am SERIOUS about being back!

Oooh do I love carne asada. I am licking my lips just thinking about it! You'll have to post a recipe for us.
I did my bodyfat measurement today for the month. I went down from 35.4 to 33.9! And I have only lost 3 pounds for the month! I am so glad I did that today 'cause I'm getting bummed out about the scale not moving.

Day progresses. I impressed in our meeting and in my work. Now, I have no tasks. I think I'm gonna clean my inbox and figure how to unsubscribe from GQ. Have decided Esquire is more my speed.

GQ is canceled, with a pro-rata refund on the remaining issues. That was easy.
Now, to get my $11, 2 year subscription to Esquire. Here's the awesome thing. My refund on the rest of my year at GQ will pay for Esquire and leave me enough to get, I dunno, a few hot wings.

Love the button Max.
It's snowing here. Such big heavy flakes that it's hard to see...but the moment it hits the ground it melts. Probably a good thing, or we'd have a foot of snow to drive in during rush hour home.
I think it's pretty...at the moment anyway. By the time I leave work and drive home, it will be the height of rush hour...so my 7mile drive could take me an hour...or more:peeved:.
I am considering staying downtown and working out before going home but my chest is very heavy today and I'm not sure a workout is the best idea.
Ever since I had pneumonia last winter I have occasional chest-heaviness. I don't have wheezing or coughing very much (except after a BIG LAUGHING ATTACK), but frequent chest-heaviness. The Dr mentioned that I could have a light case of asthma. Does anyone else experience this? I don't know anyone that has asthma (that I'm aware of) except a friend who has it really badly. Anyone have a "light case" out there?
So that we don't fill up the challenge thread, please send me a private message...thanks!

Raining here--but I saw tornado warnings in the Plains again. I'm having one of those "can't get warm days." Dampness just chills my bones. And tomorrow it's supposed to be 68. Crazy weather.

My brother does. He's 12/5 years younger, so I don't know that much about it. But given the right conditions, he can have a ton of trouble breathing (dust + pollen will do it). Most of the time, he's fine though. Has to keep an inhaler around, just in case.
You might google it, see what pops.
As for me, I have a pulsing headache. I wonder what I did to deserve this?

Maybe it's the low pressure over the Northeast, Max. I often get headaches when the weather's like this (along with achy joints).

I have mild asthma Ammy. I just get coughing attacks once in awhile. Mostly cold air or exertion. More chest tightness than heaviness is what I would describe it as.
Looks like a pretty good food day for me. I had some sugar cravings today for unclear reasons but didn't eat any.
B: choc protein shake, sugar free latte
L: BBQ wings, sauteed cabbage
D: left over prime rib with sourcream horseradish sauce, tomato and mozzarella (what do they call that?) I'm out of red wine. Oh well.
I'm kind of high on calories but technically can afford a chocoperfection bar in terms of carbs if I wanted. Probably won't.

tomato and mozzarella (what do they call that?)
With some basil, it's a caprese. Great choice. Especially with the real stuff, the bufalo. Damn that's good.

I'm coughing up alot too today Amy? Must be weather related.

Raining here again and tornado warnings out. We just came up from the basement as the sirens in town went off and the tv said warning, not watch. It is supposed to be bad til around 9 p.m. as there is still stuff moving this way that may or may not develop. More flooding is a sure thing with this hard rain. It sure is going to be a long spring with this kind of weather.
Tommorrow will be better I'm sure.

Oh, forgot that I am to post my veggies/fruits: It is still March !!
cabbage,tomatoes,peppers,olives,strawberries
exercised 45 min to dvd extra was 10 min. on glider and 8 min. on recumbent bike while in the basement.

max-yes, I splurged and got the bufalo. It was good. almost like butter.
Karole-you are a better woman than I. Tornadoes completely freak me out. We didn't have those in PA and I can't get used to them down here.

We have tornados once in a while, in season. So far they haven't hit close to home, but we've been in the basement before!
My chicken dinner was very good! Chicken chunks, broccoli and mushrooms browned in butter and OO with alfredo sauce. I was going to use sour cream, but I didn't have enough. I ate my share and tossed the rest with some hot rotini and parmesan for the Geezer.
Tomorrow I will tell people that because of the Monday Holiday Bill, April Fools day was on Monday.

This is what my DS11 has. He has an inhaler for when he needs it. Fortunately, that's not often.
Man, I thought I'd never get here today! Just busy. Went out to dinner for my birthday (which is tomorrow, but both boys start baseball practice tomorrow evening). Ticker is holding steady.
Food today:
Breakfast: Bacon and eggs; 1 dark choc kiss
Snack: coffee with half and half; peanuts and a cheese stick (why am I still hungry?!?)
Lunch: Ground sirloin burger smothered with sauteed peppers, onion, and mushrooms, and mozzarella cheese
Dinner: Broiled orange roughy, side of sauteed mushrooms, salad with lettuce, hb egg, real bacon bits, tomato, cauliflower, cheese, and ranch dressing.
Totals:
Protein 99
ECC 19
Fat 145*
Cal 1838*
*The fat and calories should be lower, but I have no way to calculate it. The sauteed mushrooms at dinner were served with nearly 1/4 cup of seasoned oil, most of which I left behind. I got the nutrition info for them from the restaurant's website, but according to that the mushrooms alone accounted for 420 calories and 45g of fat.

Petra, believe me , that basement is very reassuring. I think I would be a lot more frightened if I didn't know I could get down there quickly. I have slept through some really bad thunderstorms tho, and even one earthquake in Italy, so I guess I don't let it bug me to much;)
