Today it's supposed to be 51 degrees with wind up to 40 mph. Can't we just have a warm day? Paid off my Mary Kay and my lia sophia jewelry today -- and I have money left over. Maybe I'll go and buy a new pair of pants. Hopefully skinny pants.

Believe it or not, it was actually in the 30's here in this morning. Frost on the grass. I'm wearing a sweater. One of my babies has been puking last night and again this morning so I'm taking her to the vet. I'm a bit of a worry wart. I guess because she is still new to me.

Good morning--
I'm not at all used to this. Today is my birthday, and I don't have to go to work until tonight--so, I'm not too sure what to do with the day.
I did take myself out to lunch yesterday. I had a sirloin with cheese rockefeller on top--yummy!--a salad, and grilled veggies (there were a few crispy onion straws on the side). Then I went to the mall to check on sales, but didn't find much. I bought a shirt that'll probably fit really well in the fall for school, but it's a bit tight now.
We're adding ACT prep to our schedule at the college (for local high school students), so I'm working on that today. I've only taught SAT prep before.
It feels cold here, too, but it's supposed to get into the 50's today. For now, I have on a sweater, I'm wrapped in a blanket, and the space heater is going.
Not too sure about food today--probably Greek yogurt (with a bit of Kashi and SF vanilla syrup) for breakfast, a wrap of some kind for lunch, and maybe wings for supper. I need inspiration!

Thanks, Amy and Janet. Amy--love the stars! How do you do that?
Karole
03-25-2008, 09:34 AM
I don't know how to do the stars, but I do wish you a very happy birthday !!
I'll NEVER tell (that's not true...I ALWAYS end up telling).
I'm dealing with headaches...it's day two of sporadic headaches. I don't want to take pills as I think it's related to my change in eating recently. Like I ate too many carbs over the weekend, and now I'm not, so my body is reacting! Kind of like a food-hangover.
First thing I did was eat some SF pudding, headache went away immediately. I ate supper, and the headache came back an hour later, and I took headache pills. Pain was dulled, but not gone.
Hence my decision that the headache is around the change in eating.
I'm hungry, but not "killer" hungry. I don't mind when my stomach growls (except when I'm in a seminar and it's particularly quiet and my stomach growling echo's off the walls!!), but the headache is VERY annoying.
Peachy...extra money??? NICE!!!
Bubblegal...sounds yummy!!
Petra...GF's cat has been 'sick' lately too, but we think it happens every spring?? GF has chosen to wait it out, while I sit and worry...oh well. We both watch the cat very closely to monitor any other signs of illness. Mostly we watch if/what the cat is eating and if he was able to hold any of it down.
It's spring, they're shedding and it's possible it's the excess hair. So we give some molasses-type stuff and wait...(and worry).

http://bestsmileys.com/birthday1/22.gif Happy Birthday, Ruth!
Hope you have a great day, all huddled in your blanket. ;)
We had almost 40F this morning, but it's blowing a gale. It's going to turn to rain, but the wind will make an umbrella useless, I'm afraid. No short sleeves here, either! :slywink:
I'm working like crazy, but my stack of important things to do isn't going down a bit.
For breakfast, I had a strawberry protein shake. Lunch is a piece of roast beef I'm going to slice up and top with some kind of cheese with v-8 juice on the side.
Dinner will be chicken, but I may have a pan of chorizo with stir-fry veggies for myself.

so that was bkft, lunch will be ham slice w green salad, supper will be roast chicken and steamed veggies.
happy birthday RUTH!
Sounds yummy Lucille!
Well, I'm not scheduled to eat until 11:30, but I was SO hungry and my head was killing me.
I added 1oz (and it really was 1oz) of nuts. Right now I'm at 113g of protein if I eat like I said I would today...3over what I am aiming for, but I'm very hungry and my head is killing me!!!
:mad::mad::mad:
Oh, I looked at my calculations this am. My LBM is 129lb and I'm suppose to get a minimum of 90g protein...
Lucille

Amy, if you are hungry, but dont want more protein, cant you eat more veggies? I still am learning what is right and what isnt, so I am not sure. but I am trying not to let myself be hungry.
I could...if I HAD any here at work:peeved:.
I eat lunch in 15...yes I'm counting the minutes...

Happy Birthday, Ruth!!
:D :D :D
Amy, I hope your body adjusts SOON. I hate headaches. :(
My DD and I are feeling a little bit better today. My nose is running like a spigot, though! (Nice visual, eh? :p) I might try to ride the bike later, but I still don't think I'm ready for a "real" workout.
I'm down a pound today. I recently came across an old food diary from this time last year during an ill-fated attempt to restart PP. (There have been several. :o) I had gotten as low as 153.5 before giving up. Today I am at 152.5. :D
Food today:
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 3 thin slices bacon, 3 oz greek yogurt w/2.75oz of sliced strawberries.
"Snack:" 4 cups of coffee with 3 to 4 TBS half and half
Lunch: Spinach salad with red peppers, ham, turkey, sharp cheddar, and blue cheese dressing; 1oz dry roasted peanuts
Potential afternoon snack: Rembrandt Gouda (Now that's a cheese I'll spend the bucks for, max. ;))
Dinner: pot roast, veggies, maybe a salad
Have a good one!

Happy Birthday Ruth!!
I hope you enjoy relaxing on this most special day.
I just had the yummiest lunch. I had the inside of a burrito. Yum! I forgot to order no refried beans, so I tried to eat around the bit in the burrito. YumYumYum. Couldn't be better. I don't know how to figure out the carb/protein/fat ratios -- but I'm really not caring right now. This is definitely an UP day calorie and carb-wise. But now I feel like I need a nap!

Tresses--great job on "breaking through." I love getting under those past low points.
Amy--hope your head is feeling better. Those headaches are so oppressive.
Update on food:
Breakfast--Greek yogurt, SF vanilla syrup, 1/4 c. Kashi, cinnamon
Lunch--beef sausage in wrap, LC pb cookie, handful of almonds
I made a no-bake LC cranberry cheesecake this afternoon. The mixing spoon tasted great :)
Supper--protein shake, I think
Snack will be the above mentioned cheesecake.
I'm headed to work. I'll check in later.
Not such a terrific tuesday anymore...
Plumbers just left...if you care, the complaint to the BBB is in my journal.
I had to ask them to leave my house. They didn't fight leaving, but they were just worthless. Another 2hrs of work missed and I still have a broken closet door...
Going to fix it myself, I have asked for a refund of the payment we made for services on 3/10/08. Cripes it was like $200...SO not worth all this stupid hassle.
Anyway, I came home and had some SF pudding and a 2ecc cupcake. My headache went away completely!??
I'm in the middle of making my shirtaki chicken salad for supper.
AMY DO NOT EAT THROUGH YOUR STRESS!!!!!! THEY ARE NOT WORTH GAINING POUNDS!!!

Happy Birthday Ruth!
Ammy-you are so right, they are not worth gaining weight over. I know this is obvious, but are you adequately hydrated?
Will update about doggie on ODAAT as it is too long and not appropriate here.
B: left over ricotta pancakes with sugar free syrup, sugar free latte with CC milk
L: sirloin steak and cabbage in hospital cafeteria.
D: probably left over pork rind crusted pizza with mushrooms and onions. Broccoli with butter.
Have taken puppies for a 30 minute walk.

Yep, Amy, not worth eating over. We've all been there and done that. At least your headache's gone.
I decided to get inspired and cook the bacon and green beans for supper--I added peppers and onions, some balsamic vinegar. I deglazed the pan with some more balsamic vinegar and cream--eating this way is SUCH a sacrifice :tear:! The whole concoction came to 25 g carbs, so by the time I portion it out, it'll be just over 6/serving.
Anyway, now I'm at work, so I should get working!
See you all tomorrow.

Isn't it tough, though? Next time I make it I think I'll add toasted pine nuts. :)

Beth, the 100-year rule is a tool for putting things into perspective. "How much is this going to matter 100 years from now?" It's more or less tongue-in-cheek, but it seems to help!
Yes, I could.
But not until I've done everything I need to do.
last night I went and bought the broken part of the door frame, replaced it, only to discover the door is so broken/crooked that it will not close, so it will need to be replaced. $50 for the door, my driving to the store, my installing it. Oh, I also have to replace the hole in my closet wall (so they could fix the pipe). Fine, I would have GLADLY fixed that had they not screwed up everything else!
So...last night I was SO hungry and my head was killing me, so I ate more protein (cheese and no carb crackers).
My final counts:
Pro: 135
Ecc: 43
Fat: 155
Cal: 2144
I was trying to keep my protein under 110, but I have been SO hungry!! Not sure if it's something I need to just suffer through, or if it's my body telling me I need more!
...and it doesn't help that I lost .5lb overnight!!
Now I'm not sure if I should be trying to eat less or not...
My body is ccrrrrrraaaAAAAAAAaaaazzzzzzyyyyyy!!!
