View Full Version : Challenge: Saturday, Mar 22: I Don't Start Threads on The Weekends

It's 2PM and there's no challenge thread. Very curious. I don't do this when I'm not at work. Not my thing. Usually have stuff to do. In fact, have done stuff, and am now back to get on with the day.
Food thus far:
2 eggs, large, poached
2 pork chops, sirloin, medium (5.5 oz raw weight)
4 strips bacon, medium thickness
2.5 cups coffee, regular
3 half and half containers (.5 ounce)
4 Splenda Packets
Sorry for the Fitday style. You do it long enough, you start to think like Fitday. Big breakfast, but I only eat two meals a day on the weekend, generally.
Hope everyone is having a rocking day.

Where is everyone today?
I had a great time on our little overnight trip to the waterpark hotel. It was like a tropical paradise. With a foot of snow coming down outside!
I stayed on plan for the most part. I did have a bite of bread last night and some extra fruit this morning. But it could have been much worse! And I stayed away from yummy umbrella drinks. They are my downfall.
I'm about to color eggs with my girls, so I'm sure my menu will include some boiled eggs this week. Lots of eggs.

Max, thanks for starting the thread!
Peachy, I hope your eggs turn out well. I always lose a couple to cracking.
I slept in until nine this morning and had coffee and newspaper with the Geezer. It's a luxury. I never got a chance to turn on the computer until now.
My sister came over to borrow a black jacket to wear tonight for a choral performance. Neither of us look healthy in black, but I had three for her to choose from. The surprise was that they fit her reasonably well. She was always several sizes smaller than me. She's been gaining and I've been losing. I gave it to her.
I bought a pair of workout pants off the misses rack today (instead of women's plus) and they fit well enough. :exclamation:
I peeled three pounds of apples today for applesauce and it's cooling in a snowbank on my back porch. We're leaving in a very few minutes for an Easter dinner with relatives, so I'll be back later this evening if I can.

Hi, I have been gallavanting around everywhere--groceries and got a perm and all that kind of good stuff.
Breakfast was an Italian omelet with pepperoni, salami, sun-dried tomatoes, olives and mozzarella. It would have had mushrooms also but I forgot to put them in . Very good. Dh loved it. Also had coffee/cr and lc juice.
Lunch was bacon, tomato on lc pita bread ,orange , almonds, Lindt 85%, and a cup of tea.
Snack was cofee/cr and almonds, --I'm starving but dh said we'll go in and have a steak tonight so don't want to mess that up. :) So I'll have salad and cottage cheese to go with that.
So I will definitely have my 5 fruits and veggies in after dinner is over.
So far I have 30 min. exercise in --so just have to do my "extra" and I will have my challenge commitment over and done with for the day.

Hi, y'all,
Whew, dh & I kept our dear friends grandkids, age 4 & 5, boy & girl as they were out of town and their daughter that we've known since she was in utero needed a sitter.
We went to a local park, chased and romped with them on all the equipment and then romped when we got home! We will be prepared if and when we ever have grandkids.
Good for you, Peachy, sounds like you had fun & stayed on plan, too.
Today was:
eggs, whey protein shake w/ hood milk
hebrew national beef hot dog, 2, with salsa, sans bun, dreamfield's pasta w/ cheese
slice deli boars head ham, few tiny pickles
meatloaf , steamed cauliflower with sprinkle of cheese, tossed green salad.
Have a great EAster, all.

Carol -- great job changing not only sizes, but departments. I loved going from 1x to xl. It was more than just a size. It was an important day.:exclamation:
Claudette -- sounds like a great day with the little ones!
I've been reading more about carb cycling and may change my plan a little. So far my net loss is 3 pounds cycling. I would call that a success.

Thanks, Mo. It was a very strange feeling. Haven't been there in years.
Karole, the omelette sounded good. It made me think of trying it with pepperoni.
Claudette, most grandparents get to ease into it one at a time. You got blessed with a double-header!
Breakfast was coffee, I guess. Lunch was a piece of salsa meatloaf with melted cheese. Dinner at the party was pork loin, a deviled egg, asparagus, about a quarter cup of mashed potatoes and less than that of applesauce. Satisfied, happy.
I'm preparing my own pork loin for my family dinner tomorrow. Fresh broccoli and the rest of the applesauce will go along with it. I know there will be carby things, but I planned for what I need.

WHOOHOO, Carol! Big step forward!
I didn't do too much today, other than bake pb cookies (the Paula Deen Splenda variety for me, regular sugar for my skinny husband) and make pb bars (not carb friendly) for the family gathering tomorrow.
We did go to the local department store. I found a polo shirt I can wear (under a jumper for now, but with capris later) and he bought a shirt and two ties. It's been three years since I could buy any shirts in the store, so that part felt good. I tried on a pair of 24W jeans just for fun. They weren't as bad as I thought they'd be--still too tight, but I could almost get them on. So down the road...
Food today:
Breakfast--Greek yogurt, blueberries, SF vanilla syrup / sausage
Lunch--Salami/cheddar wrap
Snack--some finger licking when I was working with the peanut butter and I had one of my Splenda pb cookies
Supper--Roast beef/cheddar and a wrap
Snack--?? (maybe another pb cookie or part of an orange)
I'm nervous about directing our cantata tomorrow. I'd rather sing!

That's great, Carol!

At least your back will be to the congregation. ;) Besides, you're doing it for God, not the people, right? It'll be wonderful! :)
Food today:
Breakfast: ham and cheese omelette; wasa cracker with cream cheese
Lunch: Chicken Spiedini with grilled veggies and broccoli instead of roasted potatoes and salad (sans croutons, hot peppers, and olives) at the Olive Garden
Snack: 1 oz almonds
Dinner: Wendy's drivethru: 2oz hamburger patty and chicken ceasar salad (The hamburger patty was eaten in the car - I was getting really hungry and wanted something to up my protein for the day a bit.)
Ending the day with 35 ECC and 103g protein.
I probably won't be on tomorrow. After church we're headed to my MIL's for the day. Have a Blessed Easter everyone! :)

Good luck tomorrow, Ruth! I'll be cheering you on. :D Keep at those jeans. I had my hand on some jeans in the store when I remembered some brand new ones at home that were too tight. I'm going to look them up and try them on again.
DH was not in the mood for the gym tonight so we were home, the TV droning, roast not due to come out for a couple of hours, and I suddenly heard a voice that said, "Are you two joined at the shoulder? Go to the gym without him!" What a novel thought! So I did, and now I feel very virtuous.

Hmmm...my back to the congregation--almost scarier than looking at them :)
Thanks for the good thoughts, Tresses and Carol.
Carol, I think there's nothing more rewarding than finding clothes at home that you didn't used to be able to fit into. It brightens up my whole day.
