Question here from a newbie! :) I have a long distance flight coming up later on & was just wondering what the best sort of food to order on board the plane would be? They don't seem to offer a low carb option- would a diabetic meal be the way to go? - or just go with the regular food & leave out all the carbie things? Thanks! :D

take food with you! try the diabetic options but it is more likely to be a low FAT option than low carb as those are the OFFICIAL diabetic guidelines. maybe you could ask what the menu would be before hand. but in any case, I would be taking along a good selection of snacks in an insulated bag--deviled eggs, roastbeef or turkey and cheese rollups, jerky, cheese sticks, nuts--all come quickly to mind.

I side with Relief, I don't think I'd want to rely on one of the diabetic type meals the airlines might furnish. They don't always mean low carb at all.
I like slim jims, home made protein bars (from the recipe section) almonds, peanut butter on one of the lc wraps or tortillas. Celery with pb, chese sticks and things like that.
Hope you find something that will fit the bill for you!
